• Windows 2003 Server R2SP2 throws even ID 2269 after installing Excel WebPart in MOSS3

  We recently added an Excel workbook webpart (read only excel file - no editing) on our Sharepoint 2007 server. Once we did that, approximately 3-4 times an hour event ID 2269 is shown in the Application Log and a few minutes after that, an event id 1002 is displayed in the system long and the Sharepoint Offfce Servers Application pool shuts down. We've already check the "Bypass traverse checking and DCOM settings) per the MS KB and I have opened a ticket with MS Support. Problem is that MS Suppoert (sharepoint) thinks it is an IIS problem and the IIS people think it is a Sharepoint issue. Anyone else seen this problem? If we remove the Excel webpart, everything goes back to normal. The App Pools, SP and SP Central Admin sites are all using the same domain service account. Thanks in advance, Phil

• Use Internet Explorer 6 and 7 in Virtual Box.

  Hello. I am trying to install the vhds (virtual hard drive image) of IE6 on XP and IE 7 on XP packs available from Microsoft on Virtual Box. Virtual Box will only mount CD/DVD's and/or ISO's. How do I get it to use the Microsoft files? I need this to test web pages in IE6/IE7s. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium. Is there a way to do this, or another way that will allow me to load XP/IE6 and XP/IE7 in Virtualbox Edit: Ok I got it to work but it says XP must be updated in 3 days due to hardware changes. Microsoft said this would be activated til January 1st 2010. Is there a way to bypass that?

  Is there a way to change the desktop wallpaper in Windows 7 Starter Edition? I wanted to do that on my new netbook, just to find out that there is no "Customize" option in the control panel. Microsoft obviously wants to keep the netbook users rather rigidly from customizing their machines. It isn't even possible to edit the picture itself in the C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper\Windows\ directory, due to lack of rights. From what I can tell only the user "Trusted Installer" would have enough rights to do so...   With nginx I have server { listen 1.2.3.4:80 proxy_cache_valid 200 302 5m; location / { try_files $uri @upstream; root $root; } } When I go http://example.com/foobar it generates a redirect to http://example.com/foobar?filter_distance=50&... which is visitor dependent so I would like to not cache this redirect. I need to bypass cache when the query string is empty. I am a bit lost because location /foobar will match both.

• Squid closing the connection on long HTTP GET requests

  Hello, When running a database query on a specific external site we use, Squid seems to cut off the connection after a consistent period of time (just over a minute). The query is submitted through a standard web form is that uses GET to query their database. Firefox 3 just displays a blank page. Internet Explorer throws a 'Page Cannot Be Displayed' error (tested in v6 and v8). When we perform the same query on the same machine, but bypass the Squid proxy, it works fine. The query takes about two and a half minutes to complete. There are a few timeout settings in Squid, but I honestly don't know what one to be looking at. Any possible solutions would be much appreciated. Cheers

  I have a Billion BiPac 7700N Modem/Router/Access Point and I connect another router (TP-Link TL-WR1043ND) in wan-bypass mode to extend the wireless coverage. Lately, I noticed that the connection through TP-Link has been dropping out quite regularly. Having read some posts on the Internet, I checked system log on 7700N and found that there are many "nf_conntract: expectation table full" errors, which I suppose the iptables are full. My questions: What does constitute an entry on the iptable? Is it a client or a connection (which means one client can have multiple connections) How could I find out where are those connections originated from? Note: Many reported that the issue is usually related to having torrents running but I don't have any torrents running. Thank you.

• squidGuard hangs during setup

  I have a squid proxy on my Debian-Gnu-Linux-laptop configured to block some web sites. I can set a browser to use this proxy, but I can also configure it to not use it. As I an using it to block some sites. I do not wish and application to be able to bypass the proxy. Is it possible to to configure a fire wall to black outgoing traffic except if sent by the proxy application or user? I would like a simple configurator if possible.

• Sql Server Prevent Saving Changes That Require Table to be Re-created

  When working with SQL Server Management studio, if you use the Design view of a table and attempt to make a change that will require the table to be dropped and re-added, you may receive an error message like this one: Saving changes is not permitted.  The changes you have made require the following tables to be dropped and re-created.  You have either made changes to a table that cant be re-created or enabled the option Prevent saving changes that require the table to be re-created. In truth, its quite likely that you didnt enable such an option, despite the error dialogs accusations, as it is enabled by default when you install SQL Management Studio.  You can learn more about the issue in the KB article, Error message when you try to save a table in SQL Server 2008: Saving changes is not permitted. Warning: As the above article states, it is not recommended that you turn off this option (at least not permanently), as it will ensure that you do not accidentally change the schema of a table such that data is lost.  Do so at your peril. The simplest way to bypass this error is to go into Option Designers and uncheck the option Prevent saving changes that require table re-creation.  See the screenshot below. The main reason why you will see this error is if you attempted to do any of the following to the table whose design you are saving: Change the Allow Nulls setting for a column Reorder columns Change any columns data type Add a new column The recommended workaround is to script out the changes to a SQL file and execute them by hand, or to simply write out your own T-SQL to make the changes. • Winlogon.exe causes C++ runtime error

  Recently I've become unable to log into my Dell Precision M2400. It uses the Dell Controlpoint login GUI instead of the typical windows one, and has now started giving me a runtime error on winlogon.exe that ends with a c000021a BSOD. I have tried running through safe mode and a restore to the last known good setting with no success. Unfortunately by BIOS password is locked and the one IT guy with the password is on vacation and unreachable until after I leave for a business trip. Is there anyway to bypass the Dell logon screen and get to the default windows one? Thanks.

  I want to automatically download files and folders from a Linux server to which I have an SSH (and FTP) account. The files shall be downloaded on a regular basis (I suppose a cron is the right tool to do so) onto an OS X machine. I tried the following rsync command, which works fine: rsync -avzbe ssh [email protected]:/www/htdocs/something/somefolder /Users/me/folder/foo/ However I have to enter the account's password every time (the SSH account on the server machine). The server is a managed one and I'm afraid I can't change the password. Here are my questions: How do I bypass the entering of the password by storing it somewhere How do I automate this then correctly?

• SCO UNIX problem: "Cannot create /var/adm/utmp or /var/adm/utmpx"

  Hey everyone, I have an old server that doesn't boot. I don't know the version of unix installed, but I see SCO UNIX. It stops with that error: UX:init: ERROR: Cannot create /var/adm/utmp or /var/adm/utmpx UX:init: ERROR: failed write of utmpx entry: " " UX:init: ERROR: failed write of utmpx entry: " " UX:init: INFO: SINGLE USER MODE After that message, it just stops. I cannot write or press anything. Even CTRL + ALT + DEL does not work. I cannot get into the system. I have tried booting with a DamnSmallLinux LiveCD but it does not recognize the file system on HDA. Is there a way to either log in as root or bypass this error? Thanks.

• BIOS password and hardware clock problems

  I have HP 6730b lap top. I've bought it used and installed (Gentoo) linux on it. BIOS is protected with password, and guy I bought it from said "I've tweaked BIOS from Windows program, it never asked me for password". I've tried to erase password by removing battery, but it's still there. What did get erased obviously is hw clock. This is what hapends: a) I can leave lap top in January 1980 and it works b) I can correct system time, but boot wil fail with "superblock mount time in future" from where I need to manually do fsck and continue boot c) I can correct system time and sync it with hwclock -w but than it will behave as b) and it will reset BIOS time to 1.1.1980 00:00 So I need either a way to bypass a BIOS password (wich after lot of googling seems impossible),a way to persist a clock, or a setup that will enable hw clock in eighties, system clock in present time and normal boot.

• Allow VMWare client to connect only via VPN

  I have a VMWare (currently using Workstation on Vista, but thinking about switching to ESX) client with Windows XP. I've installed OpenVPN in the client and it connects to the corporate VPN server. I want to make sure that all traffic from the Windows XP machine goes trough this VPN tunnel, but I can't change any settings on the corporate VPN server. Is it possible to restrict the internet connectivity of the Windows XP client in such a way that it can only send packets to the IP of the corporate VPN server? In that way it'd be impossible for packets to bypass the tunnel. I've looked at NAT configurations but couldn't see how I could make this setup.

• Locally redirect Domain1.com to Domain2.com/subdir on one computer

  I am running a FreeBSD server and I want to redirect a specific website domain to another domain including subdirectory. I want to bypass that domain to alter the XML results it returns. I tried the hosts file solution, but that way I can only redirect to an IP address without subdir. So that's no solution. Is there another way to solve this? Installing something on the server if needed is not a problem. Unless it's a heavy program.

  This is a Canonical Question about DNS (Domain Name Service). If my understanding of the DNS system is correct, the .com registry holds a table that maps domains (www.example.com) to DNS servers. What is the advantage? Why not map directly to an IP address? If the only record that needs to change when I am configuring a DNS server to point to a different IP address, is located at the DNS server, why isn't the process instant? If the only reason for the delay are DNS caches, is it possible to bypass them, so I can see what is happening in real time?

• Skip "Sign in to your Microsoft account" (Windows 8.1 Setup)

  I have an RT tablet and updated it to Windows 8.1. The update basically performs the new PC setup. I can't get past the "Sign into your Microsoft Account". Clicking "Next" does not allow me to proceed (and prompts me for an email address). Clicking "Don't have an account" does nothing because its not linked. The other two options are "Create an account" a "Privacy statement". I don't want to create an account, and I'm not interested in their perverted terms of service for an account. In Windows 8.0, we were given the option to use local authentication. How do I bypass this feature?

  When Netcat integrated into OpenSolaris it was already clear that there will be couple of enhancements needed. The biggest set of the changes made after Solaris 11 Express was released brings various I/O enhancements to netcat shipped with Solaris 11. Also, since Solaris 11, the netcat package is installed by default in all distribution forms (live CD, text install, ...). While by themselves the options are pretty self explanatory, their combination together with other options, context of use or boundary values of option arguments make it possible to construct small but powerful tools. For example: the port redirector allows to convert TCP stream to UDP datagrams. the buffer size specification makes it possible to send one byte TCP segments or to produce IP fragments easily. the socket linger option can be used to produce TCP RST segments by setting the timeout to 0 execute option makes it possible to simulate TCP/UDP servers or clients with shell/python/Perl/whatever script etc. If you find some other helpful ways use please share via comments. Manual page nc(1) contains more details, along with examples on how to use some of these new options.

  I have a nginx server setup and it works fine for http however i would like to bypass the proxy for https connection. I want it so that when someone goes to my ip https:// ip1 (Nginx server) it bypasses ngix and forwards all traffic to https:// ip2(webserver) i do not need ngix to do this for any ssl website just one particular website. SO Client to https:// ip1 to https:/ /ip2 to https:// ip1 to client pc I just want the nginx to not intercept the connection and forward it on and on return forward the connection to client Im guessing i do this by nat mascarade buy not exactly sure how to do it and if i will need to tell nginx to ignore ssl aswell can someone help me please this has gone me stuck

• Photoshop causing other programs not receive ESC key

  When I run Photoshop CS4 on Windows 7, other running programs don't receive the ESC key (I noticed in PuTTY and Total Commander's Lister). When I close Photoshop, they start receiving the ESC key again. I tried multiple keyboard layouts, no change. Photoshop is an out-of-box install, no settings changed I exported the list of keybindings from Photoshop (ctrl-alt-shift-k) and ESC isn't used in any combination Why is this? Is there any way to disable or bypass this so that I could use other programs normally?

My script consists of: #!/bin/sh pkill lxsession; sh /home/pi/RetroPie/EmulationStation/emulationstation My aim is to log out of the LXDE session and run EmulationStation on my Raspberry Pi with a bash script. I'm using pkill lxsession; to bypass lxsession's logout confirmation dialog. As it stands, this script just gets me to the command line from a working LXDE desktop. Thanks for reading.

• How to quickly switch monitors on multi-monitor setup?

  At my desktop PC, I have 3 displays hooked up on my Palit GeForce GTX 480 to extend my desktop: DVI: Samsung SyncMaster T220 (22" 16:10, 1680x1050, as my main) DVI: Samsung SyncMaster 940BF (19" 4:3, 1280x1024) HDMI: Sony Bravia KDL-32D3000 (32" 16:9, 1360x768) As expected, the GFX card can only utilize 2 of the displays at any given time, so I have to manually switch using Windows' "Display Properties" dialog, each time I want to switch between them. I've tried UltraMon, DisplayFusion and PowerStrip (so please don't refer me to a question where those are given as solutions) but they are unable to switch monitors. Instead they can only change display resolutions and settings on the existing active monitors, with specially weird results when I've saved the monitor states and then tried to switch monitors using the saved states! Any idea on how to bypass the awful "Display Properties" dialog and it's "confirm your change" timer?

• How to get hp printer to select correct trays on samba shared printer

  My first post here. Clean install of 12.04.1. Previously 10.04. Have been running a p2035n printer without problem. Now, no matter what paper tray I select it prints to the top "by-pass" feeder--not the lower main tray. And when I select to print to manual feed, it does not wait for me to put in paper (like it used to), but prints immediately. The printer is on a samba share and is physically plugged into a WinXP machine. Its uri is smb:///computername/p2035n. I have tried several of the offered drivers for this hp machine, and even tried generic-laser. Same result on all. Here are some other things I have tried (losing 2-3 hours of my time!): hp-check -t reports “error: User needs to be member of group 'lp' to enable print, scan & fax. ” and “warning: Printer is not HPLIP installed. Printers must use the hp: or hpfax: CUPS backend to function in HPLIP.” needed to download HPLIP 3.12.11 followed http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html sh hplip-3.12.11-run says that before setup logout and then on login run hp-setup hp-setup could not find the printer ran hp-check -t again, found I was not in group lp ran hp-check --fix and it fixed that problem, asks for reboot rebooted after running update manager (new kernel) and hp-check -t shows no errors this time all the tray selections end up on the bypass tray hp-setup still cannot find the printer So is there a way to make this work?   The need - This question is relevant for all of those who want to bypass their corporate's annoying VPN, and access their work/corporate network from their private computer, especially if the corporate VPN client software can't run on their private computer. Homework: this question is very similar to this one and this one, which aren't answered :( The challange - Can't run the corporate VPN client from the private computer, so converted the work laptop to a VMWare Virtual Machine. The VPN client is working fine inside the Guest VM, now we want to share it with the Host (the private computer) The specs: * The private computer (Host OS) is Mac OS X Lion 64bit * The corporate laptop (Guest VM) is WinXP 32bit, running in Bridged network mode * The VPN client on the Guest VM is is Checkpoint SecuRemote NGX R60 HFA03 * While the VPN is running in the Guest VM, the Host can still ping the Guest and vice versa
