    - by Ethan Turkeltaub
I am trying to be able to upload files with Sinatra. I have the code here, but I'm getting the error "method file_hash does not exist" (see /lib/mvc/helpers/helpers.rb). What is going on here? Is there some dependency I'm missing.

  • PHP File Upload, files disappearing from /tmp before move_uploaded_files

    - by Bowen
Hi, I have a very basic upload script, probably lifted straight off the php.net/move_upload_files function page. move_uploaded_file() is failed because it cannot find the tmp file in the tmp folder. But I KNOW that it is being put there, but is removed before move_upload_file() can deal with it in my script. I know it is being put there since I can see a file in there when a large file is being posted to the server. Also $_FILEScontains correct details for the file I have just uploaded. Had anyone have any idea why the temporary file is being removed from /tmp before I have a chance to handle it? Here is the basic code that I am using. if(move_uploaded_file($_FILES['userfile']['tmp_name'], $upload_file)) { $result['error'] = 'false'; $result['file_loc'] = $upload_file; } else { $result['error'] = 'true'; } The output of print_r($_FILES) looks like [userfile] => Array ( [name] => switchsolo.png [type] => image/png [tmp_name] => /tmp/phpIyKRl5 [error] => 0 [size] => 6690 ) But /tmp/phpIyKRl5 simply isn't there.

  • Rails uploaded file blank

    - by Ceilingfish
Hi chaps, I'm trying to upload a file to the server using a HTTP multipart form in rails, and for some reason it's turning up blank at the other end. I can see it being received in the rails log thusly: Processing Admin::HeadlinesController#update (for 127.0.0.1 at 2010-03-08 12:26:13) [PUT] Parameters: {"commit"=>"Save changes", "action"=>"update", "_method"=>"put", "authenticity_token"=>"mK70XRk5gOPUwXOcNboT/4K8PD9RBM7GqCOlEUKZwcA=", "headline"=>{"position"=>"1", "location"=>"primary", "attachment_id"=>"13", "headline_content"=>"questionnaires", "article_id"=>"3", "image"=>#<File:/tmp/RackMultipart20100308-63211-1vym9nj-0>}, "id"=>"140", "controller"=>"admin/headlines"} But if I have a look in /tmp/RackMultipart20100308-63211-1vym9nj-0 the file is blank. Am I right in thinking that this should be the file that I uploaded? I'm running Phusion Passenger 2.2.7 on Apache 2.2.13, with ruby 1.8.7 and rails 2.3.5, on OSX 10.6.2

  • How to store private pictures and videos in Ruby on Rails

    - by TK
Here's a story: User A should be able to upload an image. User A should be able to set a privacy. ("Public" or "Private"). User B should not be able to access "Private" images of User A. I'm planning to user Paperclip for dealing with uploads. If I store the images under "RAILS_ROOT/public/images", anyone who could guess the name of the files might access the files. (e.g., accessing http://example.com/public/images/uploads/john/family.png ) I need to show the images using img tags, so I cannot place a file except public. How can I ensure that images of a user or group is not accessible by others?

  • where from does paperclip get the name of original file?

    - by Pavel K.
i started using nginx upload module (which creates upload files like /tmp/000121545) but i need paperclip to use original filename while saving files (like /public/avatars/LuckyLuke.jpg) previously in the parameters Rails were passing just "avatar"=>#<File:/tmp/RackMultipart20100413-6151-t3ecq0-0> no original filename as well, so i am wondering where from does it come in paperclip? i tried looking through plugin code but it's currently a bit too complex for me.

  • How to upload a directory via Grails or Java ?

    - by fabien-barbier
    What is the best way to upload a directory in grails ? I try this code : def upload = { if(request.method == 'POST') { Iterator itr = request.getFileNames(); while(itr.hasNext()) { MultipartFile file = request.getFile(itr.next()); File destination = new File(file.getOriginalFilename()) if (!file.isEmpty()) { file.transferTo(destination) // success } else { // failure } } response.sendError(200,'Done'); } } Unfortunately, I can only upload file by file. I would like to define my directory, and upload all files directly. Any ideas ?

  • Agile Uploader error code 2101?

    - by adamwstl
I'm trying to install Agile Uploader, but keep running into an error code 2101 (no other message besides that.) Any idea what error code "2101" means? Whenever I try to submit/upload (when I call agileUploaderSubmit()), nothing seems to happen and with Firebug mode on, all the log prints out is that code. I can't find anything that tells me what it means. Thanks

  • Upload file and parse in classic asp

Any ideas how this can be done thru pure asp? I have various upload scripts, but they all either save a file to a folder or in a database. I can't seem to modify these examples correctly to put the file in an array. Here's the 2 I'm currently using: http://www.asp101.com/articles/jacob/scriptupload.asp|http://www.pscode.com/vb/scripts/ShowCode.asp?txtCodeId=7361&lngWId=4

  • Curl (*nix) upload file to ASP.NET

    - by WedTM
I have an old redhat 8 box that I need to pragmatically send files to my webserver from. Disregarding the security issues with this, I've come up with the following way. curl -F file=@<filename> http://webhost/reciever.aspx The problem is, no matter what I try, the ASP.NET page is not accepting the file. What am I doing wrong?

  • PHP file upload issue

    - by Varun
I am working on a PHP based, ticket management system. While creating a ticket, one can upload an attachment. I want to put a limit (say 10 MB) per file upload. To implement this I plan the following- 1. In php.ini set post_max_size = 10M 2.In PHP script which receives the POST- Since the file is larger than post_max_size, $_FILES[] will be empty. But I can still check the content-length header and discard the upload, if size more than 10M. While testing this I tried uploading a file of 1 GB and analysed the http traffic and this is what I found. - the entire 1 GB data is first uploaded to a to the server temporarily and discarded once the http request completes. Though I couldn't exactly find out where the file was getting saved(as it was not there in the temporary directory in the server.), but my http traffic analyzer showed that the browser did send 1 GB data to the server. - the PHP script execution started only after completion of the http request(i.e after uploading the entire 1 GB) Now I have 2 concerns: a) People may exploit my server bandwidth by trying to upload large file, which I will have to discard anyways. b) Even worse, if someone starts uploading a huge file (say 100 GB), entire 100 GB data is first uploaded to the server temporarily, that means for that period, it will consume that much of memory on my server. What's the common solution for this. Am I missing something here?

  • Using delayed_job to process file uploads across multiple servers

    - by Steve Klabnik
Does anyone have any good resources on how to do this? Basically, I'm working on a project (in Rails) where people can upload files. They might be big. I'd like to process them using delayed_job before sending them to S3. I'd also like to do this processing on a separate job queue server, rather than on the webserver itself. I'd rather not have to upload the files to the webserver, then transfer them to the job queue server, and then upload them to S3 if I don't have to. Thanks.

  • ASP.Net/C# File Upload Progress Display

    - by Ioxp
I am having a hard time figuring out how to do a "Please wait while file is uploading" message when the user submits the following form. So far the application works to specification with regards to checking files and uploading to the server. You will see some java script below, this is there to allow me to fake out the style of the file up load buttons so that it matches the rest of the site. I have tried to use the ASP.Net Ajax controls to do this however the updateprogress panel would not show up. In further reading it was explained that this has something to do with the Asynchronous transfer that the file upload control uses when you issue a PostedFile.SaveAs("filename") command. I also found a site that refereed to using an iframe to do the job. I'm not really sure if that's the best way to go about doing this or not so I'm asking you the professionals of stackoverflow for help to try and resolve this issue. I will be more than happy to post any spinets you need from my code to help me expedite a solution for this. <table border="0"> <tr> <td>File 1:&nbsp;</td> <td><div class="fileinputs"><input type="file" class="file" size="37" id="f1" runat="server" /></div></td> </tr> <tr> <td>File 2:&nbsp;</td> <td><div class="fileinputs"><input type="file" class="file" size="37" id="f2" runat="server" /></div></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2" style="text-align:right;"><asp:ImageButton ID="ImageButton1" runat="server" ImageUrl="~/Images/Buttons/Upload_Files.gif" OnClick="Submit_Form" /></td> </tr> </table> <asp:Label ID="lblError" runat="server" Text=""></asp:Label> <script type="text/javascript"> var fakeFileUpload = document.createElement('div'); fakeFileUpload.className = 'fakefile'; var fakeInput = document.createElement('input'); fakeInput.style.width = '200px'; fakeFileUpload.appendChild(fakeInput); var image = document.createElement('img'); image.src='../Images/Buttons/Browse.gif'; fakeFileUpload.appendChild(image); var x = document.getElementsByTagName('input'); for (var i=0;i<x.length;i++) { if (x[i].type != 'file') continue; if (x[i].parentNode.className != 'fileinputs') continue; x[i].className = 'file hidden'; var clone = fakeFileUpload.cloneNode(true); x[i].parentNode.appendChild(clone); x[i].relatedElement = clone.getElementsByTagName('input')[0]; x[i].onchange = x[i].onmouseout = function () { this.relatedElement.value = this.value; } } </script>
