• GSON on Google App Engine throws a Security Exception

  I am trying to convert an object into JSON using the GSON library on Google App Engine. For some reason, it throws this exception and I don't understand how to solve this.   Helo I installed MAMP PRO on my Macbook Pro (10.6) some time ago. Now I would like to use zip functions in php. I found that I must add zip.so to my extension folder and edited php.ini. On my computer I have two different versions of PHP one in MAMP folder and other in user/lib which was pre-installed on my system. Now I wish to compile my zip library for MAMP version. I got zip sources for my version of PHP then in terminal called function /Applications/MAMP/bin/php5/bin/phpize so it uses mamp php version ./configure make then I moved compile zip.so to extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613. When MAMP is launched it returns this error: [11-Apr-2010 16:33:27] PHP Warning: PHP Startup: zip: Unable to initialize module Module compiled with module API=20090626, debug=0, thread-safety=0 PHP compiled with module API=20060613, debug=0, thread-safety=0 These options need to match in Unknown on line 0 Can some body explain to me how to do this the right way.

• Avoid unwanted path in Zip file

  I'm making a shell script to package some files. I'm zipping a directory like this: zip -r /Users/me/development/something/out.zip /Users/me/development/something/folder/ The problem is that the resultant out.zip archive has the entire file path in it. That is, when unzipped, it will have the whole "/Users/me/development/anotherthing/" path in it. Is it possible to avoid these deep paths when putting a directory into an archive? When I run zip from inside the target directory, I don't have this problem. zip -r out.zip ./folder/ In this case, I don't get all the junk. However, the script in question will be called from wherever. FWIW, I'm using bash on Mac OS X 10.6.

• Hibernate Query Language Problem

  Well, I have implemented a distinct query in hibernate. It returns me result. But, while casting the fields are getting interchanged. So, it generates casting error. What should be the solution? As an example, I do have database, "ProjectAssignment" that has three fields, aid, pid & userName. I want all distinct userName data from this table. I have applied query : select distinct userName, aid, pid from ProjectAssignment Whereas the ProjectAssignment.java file has the fields in sequence aid, pid & userName. Now, here the userName is first field in output. So, Casting is not getting possible. Also, query : select aid, pid, distinct userName from ProjectAssignment is not working. What is the proper query for the same ? Or what else the solution ?   Hi! I'm working with web services. I have a file wdsl and I trasnformed it in two java files: wsdl2java -uri nameFile.wsdl One of the java file created has 87kb. • java: how to get a string representation of a compressed byte array ?

  I want to put some compressed data into a remote repository. To put data on this repository I can only use a method that take the name of the resource and its content as a String. (like data.txt + "hello world"). The repository is moking a filesystem but is not, so I can not use File directly. I want to be able to do the following: client send to server a file 'data.txt' server compress 'data.txt' into a compressed file 'data.zip' server send a string representation of data.zip to the repository repository store data.zip client download from repository data.zip and his able to open it with its favorite zip tool The problem arise at step 3 when I try to get a string representation of my compressed file. Here is a sample class, using the zip*stream and that emulate the repository showcasing my problem. The created zip file is working, but after its 'serialization' it's get corrupted. • Reading files from an embedded ZIP archive

  I have a ZIP archive that's embedded inside a larger file. I know the archive's starting offset within the larger file and its length. Are there any Java libraries that would enable me to directly read the files contained within the archive? I am thinking along the lines of ZipFile.getInputStream(). Unfortunately, ZipFile doesn't work for this use case since its constructors require a standalone ZIP file. For performance reasons, I cannot copy the ZIP achive into a separate file before opening it. edit: Just to be clear, I do have random access to the file.

• Java IDE written in pure Java?

  Is there a Java IDE written in Java? I just got my year 9 DET laptop today at school, and there are all sorts of restrictions set in place. Somewhat annoyingly, you cannot run any executable other than the ones already installed on the system (for some reason they haven't disabled the use of Command Prompt, PowerShell, or strangely enough, regedit). They allow you to run Java executables, so I thought that would be the only way to be able to program on my crappy laptop at school (when I have finished all my work, naturally) :D Edit: By written in Java, I also mean that the executable, that is used to run the program, has the file extension ".jar", thus running on the JVM. Edit 2: I tried the DrJava IDE, and it worked great, thanks (I can compile and execute programs)! Regarding running Eclipse as through the command line using the command "java -jar "C:/Users.../org.eclipse..."". This results in an error producing a log saying file, the main error is: MESSAGE An error occurred while automatically activating bundle org.eclipse.ui.workbench (182). How do I fix this error (I much perfer working with Eclipse than any other IDE)? Edit 3: Regarding my last edit, just disregard it :D. I fixed the problem by downloading the latest version of Eclipse.

  I hate generating an exception for things that I can simply test with an if statement. I know that a zero length zip/jar will trigger an exception if you try to access it using the java.util.zip/java.util.jar APIs. So, it seems like there should be a smallest file that these utility APIs are capable of working with.

• How to make 7-Zip faster

  I normally use WinRAR over 7-Zip simply because it's faster and only a little less efficient with compression. I did a few tests on different filetypes and sizes comparing the 7-Zip and WinRAR default settings on their normal compression and their best compression, and in a lot of cases WinRAR was 50% faster and in some it was actually 100% faster. But, I do like FOSS more. So here are my questions: Is there a way to make 7-Zip speed up? I'd like it to at least be on par with WinRAR's speed Is there a way to make recovery segments in 7-Zip like you can in WinRAR? I didn't see any, but I guess it could be a command line thing. I tested WinRAR and 7-Zip using the latest stable version of each (4-dot-something with 7-Zip). Is the 9.x beta release noticeably faster at compression? I'm talking about faster at a comparable setting in WinRAR, not just lowering to bare minimum compression. If it matters, I use a quad core Intel i7 720 (1.6 GHz)/(2.8 GHz) with 4 GB DDR3 RAM, and the 64-bit version of 7-Zip, and dual-boot Debian x64 5.0.4 and Windows 7 Home.

• No Properties path set - looking in classpath

  For whatever reason my project has decided it cannot find my transaction.properties file. It is located in the : src/main/resource However it looks in looks in target/classes/ The file also resides yet throws the errors(see below) These all seem to stem from the whole in the init of code I have no acces to which is always fun.   So I'm trying to get the Java 7 as the default version on my machine, running Mac OS X 10.9.3. When I run: java -version I get: java version "1.6.0_65" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_65-b14-462-11M4609) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.65-b04-462, mixed mode) When I run: javac -version I get: javac 1.6.0_65 When I go into System Preferences -- Java -- Update, I see: Your system has the recommended vesion of Java. Java 8 Update 05. I guess I have a few questions: 1) Why does my Java Control Panel claim I have Java 8, but my work in the terminal (when checking my Java version) says otherwise? 2) I just downloaded the .dmg file for Java SE 7 from Oracle's site and installed, though it's nowhere to be seen...
