  • jQuery .ajax success function not rendering html with jQuery UI elements.

    - by tylerpenney
    How do I have the html loaded into my div from the .ajax render with jquery? the success function loads the HTML, but those elements do not show up as jQuery UI elements, just the static HTML types. Any pointers? $(function() { $('input[type=image]').click(function(){ $.ajax({ url: '_includes/callinfo.php', data: 'id=' + $(this).attr('value'), dataType: "html", success: function(html){ $('#callwindow').html(html); } }); }); });

  • jQuery block UI exceptions

    - by Chirantan
    I am using JQuery UI plugin blockUI to block UI for every ajax request. It works like a charm, however, I don't want to block the UI (Or at least not show the "Please wait" message) when I am making ajax calls to fetch autocomplete suggest items. How do I do that? I am using jquery autocomplete plugin for autocomplete functionality. Is there a way I can tell the block UI plug-in to not block UI for autocomplete?

  • jQuery UI datepicker customization

    - by Chad
    I have the jQuery datepicker working, but I need to be able to select more than just dates. I need to be able to select between some strings as well "Yesterday" and "Today" to be precise. So, the underlying input can contain any date as well as the strings "Yesterday" or "Today". Is there some way I can do this by tweaking the existing jQuery UI datepicker?

  • jquery ui slider IE7 bug...

    - by Reigel
    When you are holding the handles to slide them the width of the range blows out to 100% width, but snaps back to the width it's supposed to be once you release the handle. jQuery 1.4.2 UI 1.8.2 please help jQuery if ($("#topImageSlider").length){ var max = 120; var initialValue = 40; function refreshValue(){ //$('#sliderValue .current').text($("#topImageSlider").slider("value")); $('#sliderValue .current').text($('.ui-slider-range').width()); } $("#topImageSlider").slider({ orientation: 'horizontal', range: "min", max: max, min: 1, value: initialValue, slide: refreshValue, change: refreshValue }).after('<div id="sliderValue"><span class="current">'+ initialValue +'</span> / <span class="max">'+ max +'</span></div>'); } css #topImageSlider, #sliderValue { margin: 0 auto; width: 572px; text-align: center; } #topImageSlider { margin-top: 20px; background: url(../img/bg/slider.png) no-repeat; height: 5px; } #topImageSlider .ui-slider-range { background: url(../img/bg/slider-progress.gif) repeat-x; left: 2px; height: 5px; } #topImageSlider .ui-slider-handle { background: url(../img/btn/slider-handle.png) no-repeat; width: 24px; height: 24px; top: -8px; outline: 0; cursor: pointer; z-index: 999; } #sliderValue { margin-top: 10px; color: #bbb; font-weight: bold; } #sliderValue .current { color: #ff6e0d; }

  • jQuery offset() not working in some browsers, on some computers

    - by Peter Di Cecco
    I have a problem positioning an element in certain browsers. I'm using the jQuery autocomplete found here. The div containing autocomplete values should be directly under the text box, and line up perfectly. The code sets the css left property of the div by using the left property generated by $(textbox).offset(); After un-packing the code to try and fix my problem, I get this: var a = $(textbox).offset(); element.css({ width: typeof e.width == "string" || e.width > 0 ? e.width : $(textbox).width(), top: a.top + textbox.offsetHeight, left: a.left }).show(); This seems like it should work, and it does work in Firefox. It doesn't work in IE8, Chrome. The top position is always correct, but the sometimes the div is too far to the left, or too far to the right. On different computers (all with Windows XP), it works in IE8... how can this be? I've also tested it on my Mac, OS 10.5. It works in Firefox, but not Safari. I've disabled plug-ins, changed screen resolutions, re-sized windows... It just inconsistently works in some places sometimes. Can anyone think of something I'm missing?

  • jQuery ui Accordion degrades in IE6 or IE7, but is working in IE8

    - by cfree
    There are two accordions on my page, with custom accordion CSS in another file, differentiated by class and ID names so as not to conflict with each other. The accordions don't show up at all, they just degrade to showing all the content at once, as if all the accordion styling is gone. The accordions are both called around the middle of the page, and there's no difference if they are loaded with $(document).ready. What should I check for in the CSS files? There are no inline-block uses. I am using jQuery 1.3.2.min and jQuery ui 1.7.2, so I'm assuming the autoHeight set to false won't make a difference... This is being used inside a Symfony-based site. Works fine in FF, IE8, Chrome. Not so much in IE6, IE7/IE8 compatibility mode. $(function() { $("#accordion").accordion({ active: false, autoHeight: false, collapsible: true, icons: { 'header': 'ui-icon-carat-1-e', 'headerSelected': 'ui-icon-carat-1-s' }, }); $(".links").accordion({ active: false, autoHeight: false, collapsible: true }); });

  • A jQuery Plug-in to monitor Html Element CSS Changes

    - by Rick Strahl
    Here's a scenario I've run into on a few occasions: I need to be able to monitor certain CSS properties on an HTML element and know when that CSS element changes. The need for this arose out of wanting to build generic components that could 'attach' themselves to other objects and monitor changes on the ‘parent’ object so the dependent object can adjust itself accordingly. What I wanted to create is a jQuery plug-in that allows me to specify a list of CSS properties to monitor and have a function fire in response to any change to any of those CSS properties. The result are the .watch() and .unwatch() jQuery plug-ins. Here’s a simple example page of this plug-in that demonstrates tracking changes to an element being moved with draggable and closable behavior: http://www.west-wind.com/WestWindWebToolkit/samples/Ajax/jQueryPluginSamples/WatcherPlugin.htm Try it with different browsers – IE and FireFox use the DOM event handlers and Chrome, Safari and Opera use setInterval handlers to manage this behavior. It should work in all of them but all but IE and FireFox will show a bit of lag between the changes in the main element and the shadow. The relevant HTML for this example is this fragment of a main <div> (#notebox) and an element that is to mimic a shadow (#shadow). <div class="containercontent"> <div id="notebox" style="width: 200px; height: 150px;position: absolute; z-index: 20; padding: 20px; background-color: lightsteelblue;"> Go ahead drag me around and close me! </div> <div id="shadow" style="background-color: Gray; z-index: 19;position:absolute;display: none;"> </div> </div> The watcher plug in is then applied to the main <div> and shadow in sync with the following plug-in code: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { var counter = 0; $("#notebox").watch("top,left,height,width,display,opacity", function (data, i) { var el = $(this); var sh = $("#shadow"); var propChanged = data.props[i]; var valChanged = data.vals[i]; counter++; showStatus("Prop: " + propChanged + " value: " + valChanged + " " + counter); var pos = el.position(); var w = el.outerWidth(); var h = el.outerHeight(); sh.css({ width: w, height: h, left: pos.left + 5, top: pos.top + 5, display: el.css("display"), opacity: el.css("opacity") }); }) .draggable() .closable() .css("left", 10); }); </script> When you run this page as you drag the #notebox element the #shadow element will maintain and stay pinned underneath the #notebox element effectively keeping the shadow attached to the main element. Likewise, if you hide or fadeOut() the #notebox element the shadow will also go away – show the #notebox element and the shadow also re-appears because we are assigning the display property from the parent on the shadow. Note we’re attaching the .watch() plug-in to the #notebox element and have it fire whenever top,left,height,width,opacity or display CSS properties are changed. The passed data element contains a props[] and vals[] array that holds the properties monitored and their current values. An index passed as the second parm tells you which property has changed and what its current value is (propChanged/valChanged in the code above). The rest of the watcher handler code then deals with figuring out the main element’s position and recalculating and setting the shadow’s position using the jQuery .css() function. Note that this is just an example to demonstrate the watch() behavior here – this is not the best way to create a shadow. If you’re interested in a more efficient and cleaner way to handle shadows with a plug-in check out the .shadow() plug-in in ww.jquery.js (code search for fn.shadow) which uses native CSS features when available but falls back to a tracked shadow element on browsers that don’t support it, which is how this watch() plug-in came about in the first place :-) How does it work? The plug-in works by letting the user specify a list of properties to monitor as a comma delimited string and a handler function: el.watch("top,left,height,width,display,opacity", function (data, i) {}, 100, id) You can also specify an interval (if no DOM event monitoring isn’t available in the browser) and an ID that identifies the event handler uniquely. The watch plug-in works by hooking up to DOMAttrModified in FireFox, to onPropertyChanged in Internet Explorer, or by using a timer with setInterval to handle the detection of changes for other browsers. Unfortunately WebKit doesn’t support DOMAttrModified consistently at the moment so Safari and Chrome currently have to use the slower setInterval mechanism. In response to a changed property (or a setInterval timer hit) a JavaScript handler is fired which then runs through all the properties monitored and determines if and which one has changed. The DOM events fire on all property/style changes so the intermediate plug-in handler filters only those hits we’re interested in. If one of our monitored properties has changed the specified event handler function is called along with a data object and an index that identifies the property that’s changed in the data.props/data.vals arrays. The jQuery plugin to implement this functionality looks like this: (function($){ $.fn.watch = function (props, func, interval, id) { /// <summary> /// Allows you to monitor changes in a specific /// CSS property of an element by polling the value. /// when the value changes a function is called. /// The function called is called in the context /// of the selected element (ie. this) /// </summary> /// <param name="prop" type="String">CSS Properties to watch sep. by commas</param> /// <param name="func" type="Function"> /// Function called when the value has changed. /// </param> /// <param name="interval" type="Number"> /// Optional interval for browsers that don't support DOMAttrModified or propertychange events. /// Determines the interval used for setInterval calls. /// </param> /// <param name="id" type="String">A unique ID that identifies this watch instance on this element</param> /// <returns type="jQuery" /> if (!interval) interval = 100; if (!id) id = "_watcher"; return this.each(function () { var _t = this; var el$ = $(this); var fnc = function () { __watcher.call(_t, id) }; var data = { id: id, props: props.split(","), vals: [props.split(",").length], func: func, fnc: fnc, origProps: props, interval: interval, intervalId: null }; // store initial props and values $.each(data.props, function (i) { data.vals[i] = el$.css(data.props[i]); }); el$.data(id, data); hookChange(el$, id, data); }); function hookChange(el$, id, data) { el$.each(function () { var el = $(this); if (typeof (el.get(0).onpropertychange) == "object") el.bind("propertychange." + id, data.fnc); else if ($.browser.mozilla) el.bind("DOMAttrModified." + id, data.fnc); else data.intervalId = setInterval(data.fnc, interval); }); } function __watcher(id) { var el$ = $(this); var w = el$.data(id); if (!w) return; var _t = this; if (!w.func) return; // must unbind or else unwanted recursion may occur el$.unwatch(id); var changed = false; var i = 0; for (i; i < w.props.length; i++) { var newVal = el$.css(w.props[i]); if (w.vals[i] != newVal) { w.vals[i] = newVal; changed = true; break; } } if (changed) w.func.call(_t, w, i); // rebind event hookChange(el$, id, w); } } $.fn.unwatch = function (id) { this.each(function () { var el = $(this); var data = el.data(id); try { if (typeof (this.onpropertychange) == "object") el.unbind("propertychange." + id, data.fnc); else if ($.browser.mozilla) el.unbind("DOMAttrModified." + id, data.fnc); else clearInterval(data.intervalId); } // ignore if element was already unbound catch (e) { } }); return this; } })(jQuery); Note that there’s a corresponding .unwatch() plug-in that can be used to stop monitoring properties. The ID parameter is optional both on watch() and unwatch() – a standard name is used if you don’t specify one, but it’s a good idea to use unique names for each element watched to avoid overlap in event ids especially if you’re monitoring many elements. The syntax is: $.fn.watch = function(props, func, interval, id) props A comma delimited list of CSS style properties that are to be watched for changes. If any of the specified properties changes the function specified in the second parameter is fired. func The function fired in response to a changed styles. Receives this as the element changed and an object parameter that represents the watched properties and their respective values. The first parameter is passed in this structure: { id: watcherId, props: [], vals: [], func: thisFunc, fnc: internalHandler, origProps: strPropertyListOnWatcher }; A second parameter is the index of the changed property so data.props[i] or data.vals[i] gets the property and changed value. interval The interval for setInterval() for those browsers that don't support property watching in the DOM. In milliseconds. id An optional id that identifies this watcher. Required only if multiple watchers might be hooked up to the same element. The default is _watcher if not specified. It’s been a Journey I started building this plug-in about two years ago and had to make many modifications to it in response to changes in jQuery and also in browser behaviors. I think the latest round of changes made should make this plug-in fairly future proof going forward (although I hope there will be better cross-browser change event notifications in the future). One of the big problems I ran into had to do with recursive change notifications – it looks like starting with jQuery 1.44 and later, jQuery internally modifies element properties on some calls to some .css()  property retrievals and things like outerHeight/Width(). In IE this would cause nasty lock up issues at times. In response to this I changed the code to unbind the events when the handler function is called and then rebind when it exits. This also makes user code less prone to stack overflow recursion as you can actually change properties on the base element. It also means though that if you change one of the monitors properties in the handler the watch() handler won’t fire in response – you need to resort to a setTimeout() call instead to force the code to run outside of the handler: $("#notebox") el.watch("top,left,height,width,display,opacity", function (data, i) { var el = $(this); … // this makes el changes work setTimeout(function () { el.css("top", 10) },10); }) Since I’ve built this component I’ve had a lot of good uses for it. The .shadow() fallback functionality is one of them. Resources The watch() plug-in is part of ww.jquery.js and the West Wind West Wind Web Toolkit. You’re free to use this code here or the code from the toolkit. • Jquery ui sortable clone helper not working

    - by Jeremy Seekamp
    Maybe I don't understand how clone works with sortable, but here is what I would like to do. When sorting an item I would like a clone of the item I am dragging remain until I stop drop the item in its new position. Here's the code: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.8.2/jquery-ui.min.js"></script> <style type="text/css"> .sort { width: 150px; } .ui-state-highlight { background-color: #000; height:2px; } </style> </head> <body> <div> <ul class="sort"> <li>Item 1</li> <li>Item 2</li> <li>Item 3</li> <li>Item 4</li> </ul> </div> <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { $('.sort').sortable({ helper: 'clone', placeholder: 'ui-state-highlight', opacity: '.5' }) }) </script> </body> </html> Thanks in advance for the help!

  • JQuery UI Autocomplete showing as bullets

    - by awshepard
    The JQuery UI Demo page for autocomplete (link) has a nice looking search box and drop down with nice colors and highlights and such. When I implement it for myself, I end up with a bulleted list. How do I get my drop down of suggestions to look like theirs? A few notes/code fragments: I'm working in .NET land, so I'm using the <asp:ScriptManager> tag with <asp:ScriptReference>s inside it to get the hosted jquery.min.js (1.4.2) and jquery-ui.min.js (1.8.1) files from Google. My input box is fairly simple: <div class='ui-widget'> <label for="terms">Term: </label> <input id="terms" class="ui-autocomplete-input"> </div> My autocomplete looks like: $(""#terms"").autocomplete({source:""GetAttributesJSON.aspx"",minLength:2}); I get the correct data back, so that's not the issue. I just want fancy graphics. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

  • Automatically resize jQuery UI dialog to the width of the content loaded by ajax

    - by womp
    I'm having a lot of trouble finding specific information and examples on this. I've got a number of jQuery UI dialogs in my application attached to divs that are loaded with .ajax() calls. They all use the same setup call: $(".mydialog").dialog({ autoOpen: false, resizable: false, modal: true }); I just want to have the dialog resize to the width of the content that gets loaded. Right now, the width just stays at 300px (the default) and I get a horizontal scrollbar. As far as I can tell, "autoResize" is no longer an option for dialogs, and nothing happens when I specify it. I'm trying to not write a separate function for each dialog, so .dialog("option", "width", "500") is not really an option, as each dialog is going to have a different width. Specifying width: 'auto' for the dialog options just makes the dialogs take up 100% of the width of the browser window. What are my options? I'm using jQuery 1.4.1 with jQuery UI 1.8rc1. It seems like this should be something that is really easy. EDIT: I've implemented a kludgy workaround for this, but I'm still looking for a better solution.

  • .post inside jQuery.validator.addMethod always returns false :(

    - by abdullah kahraman
    Hello! I am very new to jQuery and javascript programming. I have a program below that checks whether username is taken or not. For now, the PHP script always returns if(isset($_POST["username"]) )//&& isset($_POST["checking"])) { $xml="<register><message>Available</message></register>"; echo $xml; } Login function works, but username checking doesn't. Any ideas? Here is all of my code: $(document).ready(function() { jQuery.validator.addMethod("checkAvailability",function(value,element){ $.post( "login.php" , {username:"test", checking:"yes"}, function(xml){ if($("message", xml).text() == "Available") return true; else return false; }); },"Sorry, this user name is not available"); $("#loginForm").validate({ rules: { username: { required: true, minlength: 4, checkAvailability: true }, password:{ required: true, minlength: 5 } }, messages: { username:{ required: "You need to enter a username." , minlength: jQuery.format("Your username should be at least {0} characters long.") } }, highlight: function(element, errorClass) { $(element).fadeOut("fast",function() { $(element).fadeIn("slow"); }) }, success: function(x){ x.text("OK!") }, submitHandler: function(form){send()} }); function send(){ $("#message").hide("fast"); $.post( "login.php" , {username:$("#username").val(), password:$("#password").val()}, function(xml){ $("#message").html( $("message", xml).text() ); if($("message", xml).text() == "You are successfully logged in.") { $("#message").css({ "color": "green" }); $("#message").fadeIn("slow", function(){location.reload(true);}); } else { $("#message").css({ "color": "red" }); $("#message").fadeIn("slow"); } }); } $("#newUser").click(function(){ return false; }); });

  • jQuery capture all changes to named inpt on a form

    - by Brian M. Hunt
    I'm trying to determine when any of a set of named input/select/radio/checked/hidden fields in a form change. In particular, I'd like to capture when any changes are made to fields matching jQuery's selector $("form :input"), and where that input is has a name attribute. However, the form isn't static i.e. some of the fields are dynamically added later. My initial thought is to keep track of when new named elements matching :input are added, and then add an event handler, like this: function on_change() { alert("The form element with name " + $(this).attr("name") + " has changed"); } function reg_new_e_handler(input_element) { input_element.change(on_change); } However, I'm quite hopeful I can avoid this with some jQuery magic. In particular, is there a way to register an event handler in jQuery that would handle input elements that match the following: $("form :input").filter( function () { $(this).attr("name") } ).change(on_change); However, have this event set update whenever new input elements are added. I've thought that it may be possible to capture keyup event on the form node with $("form").keyup(on_change), but I'm not so sure how one could capture change events. I'd also like this to capture keyup events. Thank you for reading. Brian

  • jquery ui drag and drop showing feedback

    - by sea_1987
    Hi there, I have some drag and drop functionality on my website, I am wanting to hightlight the area that is droppable with a chage in border color when the draggable element is clicked/starting to be dragged. If the click/or drag stops I want the border of the droppable element to change back to its origianl state, I currently have this code, but it does not work very well. $(".drag_check").draggable({helper:"clone", opacity:"0.5"}); $(".drag_check").mousedown(function() { $('.searchPage').css("border", "solid 3px #00FF66").fadeIn(1000); }); $(".drag_check").mouseup(function(){ $('.searchPage').css("border", "solid 3px #E2E5F1").fadeIn(1000); }) $(".searchPage").droppable({ accept:".drag_check", hoverClass: "dropHover", drop: function(ev, ui) { var droppedItem = ui.draggable.children(); cv_file = ui.draggable.map(function() {//map the names and values of each of the selected checkboxes into array return ui.draggable.children().attr('name')+"="+ui.draggable.children().attr('value'); }).get(); var link = ui.draggable.children().attr('name').substr(ui.draggable.children().attr('name').indexOf("[")+1, ui.draggable.children().attr('name').lastIndexOf("]")-8) $.ajax({ type:"POST", url:"/search", data:ui.draggable.children().attr('name')+"="+ui.draggable.children().val()+"&save=Save CVs", success:function(){ window.alert(cv_file+"&save=Save CVs"); $('.shortList').append('<li><span class="inp_bg"><input type="checkbox" name="remove_cv'+link+'" value="Y" /></span><a href="/cv/'+link+'/">'+link+'</a></li>'); $('.searchPage').css("border", "solid 3px #E2E5F1").fadeIn(1000); }, error:function() { alert("Somthing has gone wrong"); } }); } });

  • JQuery UI Tabs - replace tab and contents

    - by Tauren
    What is the best way to replace the currently selected tab and its contents? The content is dynamically generated with jquery, not loaded via a URL. I need to do this from outside of any tab code or tab event handler (show, add, etc.). There is a link elsewhere on the page that should do the following when clicked: Change the tab's title Change the tab's className Clear out all elements of the tabcontent div Change the tabcontent div's className Generate new content inside the tabcontent div Note that the only reference this link's click() handler has is to the JQuery tabs object ($Tabs). I can get the selected tab with $Tabs.tabs('option','selected'). But how can I get a reference to the selected tab's tab and panel? Inside of a jquery tab handler (show, add, etc.), I have access to ui.tab and ui.panel, but is there a way to get them from a tabs option? Would it be better to simply remove the currently selected tab and then add a new tab in the same index location? I'd have to put the code to generate the tab content into the add() handler then I suppose.

  • Combining the jquery Calendar picker with the jquery validation and getting them to play nice?

    - by MBonig
    I'm just starting to get into jquery/javascript programming so this may be a beginner question but I sure can't seem to find anything about it. I have a text field on a form. I've used the JQuery UI Calendar picker to make data entry better. I've also added jquery validation to ensure that if the user enters the date by hand that it's still valid. Here is the html: <input class="datepicker" id="Log_ServiceStartTime_date" name="Log_ServiceStartTime_date" type="text" value="3/16/2010"></input> and javascript: $('form').validate(); $('#Log_ServiceStartTime_date').rules('add','required'); $('#Log_ServiceStartTime_date').rules('add','date'); the problem I'm having is this: If a user puts in a bad date, or no date at all, the validation correctly kicks in and the error description displays. However, if the user clicks on the textbox to bring up the calendar picker and selects a date, the date fills into the field but the validation does not go away. If the user clicks into the textbox and then back out, the validation correctly goes away. How can I get the calendar picker to kick off the validation routine once a date is selected? thanks

  • Aligning text to the bottom of a div: am I confused about CSS or about blueprint? [closed]

    - by larsks
    I've used Blueprint to prototype a very simple page layout...but after reading up on absolute vs. relative positioning and a number of online tutorials regarding vertical positioning, I'm not able to get things working the way I think they should. Here's my html: <div class="container" id="header> <div class="span-4" id="logo"> <img src="logo.png" width="150" height="194" /> </div> <div class="span-20 last" id="title"> <h1 class="big">TITLE</h1> </div> </div> The document does include the blueprint screen.css file. I want TITLE aligned with the bottom of the logo, which in practical terms means the bottom of #header. This was my first try: #header { position: relative; } #title { font-size: 36pt; position: absolute; bottom: 0; } Not unexpectedly, in retrospect, this puts TITLE flush left with the left edge of #header...but it failed to affect the vertical positioning of the title. So I got exactly the opposite of what I was looking for. So I tried this: #title { position: relative; } #title h1 { font-size: 36pt; position: absolute; bottom: 0; } My theory was that this would allign the h1 element with the bottom of the containing div element...but instead it made TITLE disappear, completely. I guess this means that it's rendering off the visible screen somewhere. At this point I'm baffled. I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction. Thanks!

  • Working on a jQuery plugin : viewport simulator

    - by pixelboy
    Hi community, i'm working on a jQuery plugin that's aiming to simulate one axis camera movements. The first step to achieving this is simple : use conventional, clean markup, and get the prototype to work. Heres how to initiate the plugin : $('#wrapper').fluidGrids({exclude: '.exclude'}); Here's a working demo of the WIP thing : http://sandbox.test.everestconseil.com/protoCitroen/home.html Where am I having issues : Is there a fast way to detect if parent of each target (clickable animated element) is a href link, and if so to save this url ? My clone uses the original background image to then animate it.fade it to black/white. But when you clik on an element, image url is found, but doesn't seem to be injected. Do you see anything ? Finally, about animation of elements : as you can see in source code, I'm using the container $('#wrapper') to position all animated children. What would be the perfect properties to apply to make this cross browser proof ? Here's the source code for the plugin, fully commented. (function($){ $.fn.extend({ //plugin name - fluidGrids fluidGrids: function(options) { //List and default values for available options var defaults = { //The target that we're going to use to handle click event hitTarget: '.animateMe', exclude: '.exclude', animateSpeed: 1000 }; var options = $.extend(defaults, options); return this.each(function() { var o = options; //Assign current element to variable var obj = $(this); //We assign default width height and positions to each object in order to get them back when necessary var objPosition = obj.position(); //Get all ready to animate targets in innerViewport var items = $(o.hitTarget, obj); //Final coords of innerViewport var innerViewport = new Object(); innerViewport.top = parseInt(objPosition.top); innerViewport.left = parseInt(objPosition.left); innerViewport.bottom = obj.height(); innerViewport.right = obj.width(); items.each(function(e){ //Assign a pointer cursor to each clickable element $(this).css("cursor","pointer"); //To load distant url at last, we look for it in Title Attribute if ($(this).attr('title').length){ var targetUrl = $(this).attr('title'); } //We assign default width height and positions to each object in order to get them back when necessary var itemPosition = $(this).position(); var itemTop = itemPosition.top; var itemLeft = itemPosition.left; var itemWidth = $(this).width(); var itemHeight = $(this).height(); //Both the original and it's animated clone var original = $(this); //To give the if (original.css('background-image')){ var urlImageOriginal = original.css('background-image').replace(/^url|[("")]/g, ''); var imageToInsert = "<img src="+urlImageOriginal+"/>" } var clone = $(this).clone(); original.click(function() { $(clone).append(imageToInsert); $(clone).attr("id","clone"); $(clone).attr('top',itemTop); $(clone).attr('left',itemLeft); $(clone).css("position","absolute"); $(clone).insertAfter(this); $(this).hide(); $(clone).animate({ top: innerViewport.top, left: innerViewport.left, width: innerViewport.bottom, height: innerViewport.right }, obj.animateSpeed); $("*",obj).not("#clone, #clone * , a , "+ o.exclude).fadeOut('fast'); //Si l'objet du click est un lien return false; }); }); }); } }); })(jQuery);

  • When to update jQuery?

    - by epaulk
    When you recommend updating jQuery/jQuery UI? Or in other words: what are the best practices for updating jQuery/jQuery UI? I’m working on a long project that will take at least one more year. In that time span, I’m sure that jQuery/jQuery UI will be updated many times. Do you recommend update my jQuery/jQuery UI files every time an update is released? Or is better to stick with a particular version until the end of the project? I’m afraid of “breaking” code changes, and every time an update is released, I have to test everything. That takes too much time. But on the other hand, if I didn’t update, I’m afraid of bugs that later will bite me in the rear. The project is an ASP.MVC and I use jQuery a lot. Any thoughts?

  • Use JQuery UI Datepicker with Icons from Jquery UI Theme

    - by Craig McGuff
    I have a datepicker control setup using the JQuery UI, I am also using the JQuery UI themes which provide a bunch of default icons that I want to use. The DatePicker allows for specifying a specific image, i.e.: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $("#DateFrom").datepicker({ showOn: 'button', buttonImageOnly: true, buttonImage: 'images/ui-icon-calendar.png' }); }); </script> To display an icon from the icon set you use something like: <span class="ui-icon ui-icon-calendar"></span> Is there an easy to integrate the two or do I just need to hack out the styles/images manually?
