  Hi, I'm using Workshop for Weblogic and I'm testing an XQuery Transformation. Both MFL and XSD are valid.   I'm hoping for a concise way to perform the following transformation. I want to transform song lyrics. The input will look something like this: Verse 1 lyrics line 1 Verse 1 lyrics line 2 Verse 1 lyrics line 3 Verse 1 lyrics line 4 Verse 2 lyrics line 1 Verse 2 lyrics line 2 Verse 2 lyrics line 3 Verse 2 lyrics line 4 And I want to transform them so the first line of each verse is grouped together as in: Verse 1 lyrics line 1 Verse 2 lyrics line 1 Verse 1 lyrics line 2 Verse 2 lyrics line 2 Verse 1 lyrics line 3 Verse 2 lyrics line 3 Verse 1 lyrics line 4 Verse 2 lyrics line 4 Lyrics will obviously be unknown, but the blank line marks a division between verses in the input.

• Operational Transformation library?

  I'm looking for a library that would allow me to synchronize text in real-time between multiple users (ala Google Docs). I've stumbled upon Operational Transformation, which seems to fit my needs. Having said that, I understand the gist of OT, but not the math nor implementation of OT. Thus, I was wondering if there was a drag'n'drop Javascript library that would hook into a text area, generate the transforms, then allow me to apply those transformations onto another client? (I've gotten the Etherpad source, but I can't make head or tails out of it. If anyone could point out how to leverage on Etherpad's OT implementation, that'll be great too!)

• C Program Stalls or Infinite Loops inside and else statement?

  I have this weird thing happening in my C program which has never happened to me before. I am calling a void function with a single parameter, the function is very similar to this so you can get the jist: ... printf("Before Call"); Dumb_Function(a); printf("After Call"); ... ... void Dumb_Function(int a){ if(a == null) { } else{ int i; for(i=0; i<a; i++) { do stuff } printf("test"); } } This will output Before Call test and NOT "After Call" How is this possible? Why does my function not return? Did my program counter get lost? I can not modify it to a non void function. When running the cursor will blink and I am able to type, I press CTRL+C to terminate. Any ideas?

  Logging the chat messages on the client side. Registration of ALL clients on the server on their start up. Client should be able to add another client on his list for chatting. Server should be able to switch between clients on the basis of FCFS (multithreading). When a client logs in from other side, its friend client should be able to see it online. Now, to add to this, there can be things like sharing text/voice/video files etc, but then the focus will be on compression majorly. With the chat program, my intention is to learn the majority of "networking" concepts. What else, can be implemented (in this chat program) which can brush up my "networking" concepts?

  I had a Google Adsense partnership with $80 in it, but then switched to a different partnership and now can't get my money. When I first started YouTube, I joined the Adsense partnership program. After gaining $80 in my Adsense account, I got an offer to join a third party partnership program called Zoomin.tv. I accepted, and it is paying me monthly now. The problem is that my Adsense account still has the $80 in it, and is not gaining more cash. The Zoomin.tv money is going directly to my PayPal. The payment threshold in Adsense is $100, and you can't make it lower. Therefore, my money is stuck in Adsense and I'd love a solution that allows me to access my money.

• Terminal stops working after closing a program window started from the Terminal

  System: I have XUbuntu 12.04 64bit and run Terminal 0.4.8 (Xfce Terminal Emulator). Problem: My Terminal always stops to accept any input after I close a program window started from the Terminal. Details: For example, I start leafpad, (or geany, tkdiff etc) from the terminal. I close the window after finishing my job by either clicking on the close button or using ctrl-w. Then when I go back to the terminal, it does not accept any input any more. Workaround: When this happens, I have to click on any other window (giving it the focus) and go back to Terminal again. Usually this causes the Terminal to starts to accept input again. So I always have to do a alt-tab, shift-alt-tab after I close a program started from Terminal. This is very annoying. Googled and did not find answer.

• Why do I get the message "program not found" when running "mal" for Latex

  just started using Ubuntu (11.10 oneiric). It is running on a virtual machine. I used to use SuSE. However, SuSE is now with Novel, which goes hand in hand with Microsoft. So now shifted to Ubuntu. For documentation I use LaTeX and installed a package. This package uses a pre-processer (it is called "mal"). I ran the textconfig rehash command as required, but when I try to run the program, I get a "program not found" error. I am guessing that it is not in my path. (a sudo did not help) Any idea?

• Looking for recommendations for a server-side newsletter program

  Hello- I'm currently using a server-side SQL based mailing list program called Php-List on multiple sites and it works fairly well. But installation and setup is quite cumbersome, quirky and the interface is not well organized... neither is the code... with pieces all over the place in random fashion. Customizing the "look & feel" and full site integration are both tedious and painful. Upgrading the version is made more complex since multiple edits need to be manually transferred each time. Also, probably due to a poor English translation, descriptions and instructions within certain areas of the user interface are contradictory and unclear. You just have to play with it and remember what you did last time it worked. It's supposed to be so my customers can send out their own newsletters... after supplying a written tutorial, about half of them seem to stumble through it okay and the other half just hire me to do it for them. So not quite easy enough for most average people to use. I'm looking for something that's as easy for them as using a blog or discussion forum. It also must be easier to set up and integrate into a site than Php-List. I have no problem getting dirty and writing CSS or HTML by hand. Nor do I have any problem editing the program code. Perhaps what I'm looking for is a solution that is more organized, a better GUI, and template or "skin" based. Therefore, if I spend many hours customizing a skin, I can simply update the program and re-use my custom skin without having to reproduce the tedious setup over and over. (I currently maintain a list of about 25 things I must manually edit or add to multiple files in multiple directories each time I install or upgrade Php-List) A great example of what I'm looking for is very much like WordPress or phpBB. They're both easy to install and customize yet powerful and packed full of features. They're also VERY well organized making customization less painful. So enough yammering for now... anyone know of something, besides Php-List, with many of the same features as Php-List; maintaining a mailing list with a server-side database, custom sign-up pages, automatic opt-in opt-out, allowing custom HTML newsletter templates, etc?   I was recently asked the following question in an interview : How do you debug a C++ program ? I started by explaining that programs may have syntax and semantic errors. Compiler reports the syntax errors which can be corrected. For semantic errors, various debuggers are available. I specifically talked about gdb, which is command line, and Visual Studio IDE's debugger, which has a GUI, and common commands. I also talked about debug and release version of code, how assertions should be used for debug build, how exceptions helps in automatic cleanup & putting the program in valid state, and how logging can be useful (e.g. using std::clog). I want to know if this answer is complete or not. Also, I want to hear how other people will go about answering this question in a structured manner ? Thanks.

  I am looking to figure out how to set up a mass backup system for a computer network (of about 25) and am looking for a ghosting program that makes an image of the entire system for backup/recovery purposes. While clonezilla would work.. you have to manually boot us the CD for it. I am looking for a program that runs INSIDE Ubuntu that sends a system image backup off to the network server at set times, then when needed could also be used to burn the clone back to the machine. Another words- automatically and the only time I have to do anything to it is when I need to burn a backup BACK to a 'crapped' machine. Any ideas?

• How do I set a wine program (ex. Foxit Reader for Windows) as the default program?

  I regularly annotate pdf files and unfortunately there is no good linux pdf reader that supports decent annotations. Evince has a very rudimentary and buggy annotation feature. So I'm stuck using a Windows viewer through wine. This works pretty well but, when I simply right-click a file (in this case a pdf), properties, open with and selected Foxit Reader, the Unity Launcher icon remained the wine icon instead of the application icon. Has anyone set a wine program as the default program for any file? Any ideas?

  I would like to learn C++ so I can get a job in the game industry, but there are so many options it a little confusing. I know most of you will say I should read up on C++ before attempting to program it but I learn best by doing things rather then reading. That being said I don't understand some of the thing suggested on other questions, because I've read a few trying to find whats right for me, so putting things in the simplest terms would be helpful. I've been making a couple of games 2d using gamemaker and if theres a C++ equivalent that would be perfect, but if not possible I would like an IDE that allows me to easily continue making 2d games, and is fairly simple to learn. Having a 2d sprite editor would be a nice plus but I can understand if its not every thing I want in one program

  I'm looking for a Kiosk-style / camera shop easy photo memory card to CD/DVD burning program? For non technie user. The kind of system you see in a camera shop / store, e.g. in the UK, Jessops and Boots stores. This is for my Dad who is adept at general PC usage as a notebook owner, but would prefer something fairly simple. The task of burning photos to CD/DVD, in their original photo file .jpg form, i.e. NOT as CD or DVD video or slideshow, is what I'm looking for. I'm guessing this might be possible in Picasa, but all the options available might be superfluous and confusing. He could probably learn to use that but thought I would try simpler options first. Looking for something that guides the user through the steps/stages of the process, 'Wizard' style. Any suggestions? Platform: HP Windows 7 Home notebook with CD/DVD burner and SD memory card slot.
