    I'm using QPlainTextEdit as an HTML editor, saving the data through an HTTP post with QNetworkAccessManager. I experience data loss when using HTML special characters such as & (ampersand) I'm building a POST request with a QByteArray (as mentioned in the docs).   • Qt - serialize/deserialaize text plus picture

    I want to use a field (kind of QTextEdit), which is capabale of storing picture and text (like MS Word is doing) and it serializes and deserialaizes picture+text data. Is there any Qt Widget that allows us to manipulate with picture and text simultaniously and it has set/get functions which operate with serializable type? In othger words, I want to know if there exsists any Qt widget that can store picture+text and has "get" types of function that returns the content of that widgets editable area, which is a Type that could be serialized with QDataStream.

  • Qt Direct Connection

    Hello I have created Qt tree control( and its nodes ) in different thread than the main thread. In the main thread I want to show context menu for the clicked node, so I am connectiong the actions in the menu with appropriate slots in the main thread. The connect function returns true , but slot is never executed. If I explicitly say in connect function that this is Qt :: DirectConnection then everything works fine. Why is this ? I I create my tree in main thread, everything also works fine , without having to say that this is Qt::DirectConnection .

    Hi, I want to add, submenu to a menu item dynamically. How can I achive this? I tried like this, I have created an Action and submenu. Then I have added the submenu to action. But, I have connected the “triggered” signal of action. its getting crash if I click on the action.. I have also handled the “aboutToShow” signal of menu, same its also getting crash when I click on action.. Here is the sampe code.     Hi, I am using Qt 4.5 in Windows XP. My pro file has the variable VERSION = 1.0. Now i need to read this variable and get its value (1.0) from the source code. So that I don't have to maintain another variable for version inside my source code. I just read from the pro file and update it. So that the value remains consistent all over my project.     I would like to have a very short / minimal example of how to create some tabular widget with different types of item in it. In the first round let's say I'd like to render [["Hello", 12, True], ["World", 13, False]] (Hello as string, 12 as number (right-align), True as a checkbox for eg.), but it would be nice to have Dates, Colors, and other type of info. Next round: editing (integer with spinbox, maybe sometimes a combobox is handy, but that may not work out of the box). There must be a simple solution, but I couldn't find...

    I hosted a QWinWidget in a CView and want it to stay at a designated position when resizing. But QWinWidget always moves to (0, 0), i.e. left-top corner of the CView. I tried to debug in this way: QWinWidget* pWidget = new QWinWidget(pCView); pWidget->move(50, 50); QPoint pos = pWidget->pos(); Note that: the pos is always (0, 0). Why is that?

I want to know if somthing has been chaged after pressing File-New menu button. Is there any general method for doing this? Somwhere I have read that it is recomended to use isWindowModified() function of QMainWindow, but seems it doesn't work.
