  • How to disable shared folders passowrd prompt on window & Linux

    I'm using windows xp, vista, server 2008 R2, ubuntu-linux 9.10, 9.04, 8.10 desktop editions. I shared some folders/directories in windows and in ubuntu machines. Normally for the first time it's prompted for the password when tried to access the shared folders on either of the machine and again they prompt for the password when the system is rebooted. Recently I've created a batch and sh script which copies from the shared folders from windows to ubuntu and vice-versa. But the scripts cannot automate the password prompt and I'm wondering if I could disable the password prompt of the shared folders on windows and as well as on ubuntu machines so that my script runs smoothly. I don't know if it's possible or not but want to confirm posting here and if it is then nothing but saying need help...!. Thanks all!

    Constantly at my shop, we are moving Outlook (or other email program) files between computers or Windows Installations, and sometimes, people have HUNDREDS of folders. Is there a quick way to move ALL the folders from multiple data files (*.PST) into one single file, without dragging each and every folder? No, I don't want to move the Inbox folder into the other Inbox folder for the quick move, I want something simple like selecting all folders and moving that way. Does such a method exist in any version of Outlook?

Gnome Nautilus do that kind of virtual folders through saved search. But I want a system-wide solution, not a gnome-wide solution. Is there a tool that creates virtual folders from the concatenation of multiple search queries (the result of multiple find commands ?). The solution should index files for better performances and you should be able to define the default folder for copy operations. I assume the solution of this kind of problem certainly use FUSE, but I can't see a complete solution to this kind of task in FUSE applications.

  • Make Outlook run rules on non-inbox folders automatically

    I currently have my Outlook setup with Gmail. I have a couple of rules that I have defined which run on different folders (lables) in my account. I have filters already setup in GMail which will make emails skip the inbox and put them in the respective folders. Whenever I get a new email, in those folders, my rules are not run (they are just for setting categories). I have to run them manually. I think its because the emails don't come to the inbox first but directly into the folder. Is there anyway to make outlook run rules automatically on those folders? A scheduled run should also be fine.

    I'm looking for a way to copy photos that are uploaded to one folder to many other folders and visa versa. Example: a photo is uploaded to folder 1, it is then copied to folders 2-5. And if a photo is uploaded to folder 2 it is copied to folders 1 and 3-5. I'm running CentOS 5. All of these folders are on the same server. I came across another post on here that talked about incron, but that type of programming is over my head.

    I'm trying to get a list of files from a directory excluding files in hidden folders. With the following command, hidden folders are traversed even though I've set /A:-H to exclude hidden directories. Is there a different switch to stop them from being traversed too? dir "C:\SVN" /A:-H /w /b /s Alternatively, for this use case I know the name of the hidden folders I want to exclude, so if there is a way to exclude the folders by name ("\.svn\") that might have to suffice. Thanks!

    A while back I set my computer up to sync folders on a shared network drive. I didn't choose my folders carefully and ended up with a huge amount of files to sync, which took forever. I would like to stop sync on those folders, then later select some smaller subfolders to sync. I believe this means I first must delete the existing sync partnerships, but there is no "Delete" option when I list them in Sync Center. How can I delete existing sync partnerships?

    I have a dozen of folders that are duplicates. Within them are a few dozen folders that are duplicates so i have a few thousand copies of the same files and folders. Many of them are exactly the same while others have changes in a few files. What utility can i use to delete folders that are copies of others with no changes? if one or more files in that folder have been changed i dont want it deleted (and i'd like the subfolders to have a shortcuts to a copy but thats not required). Is there a utility to do this?

  • Use depth bias for shadows in deferred shading

    We are building a deferred shading engine and we have a problem with shadows. To add shadows we use two maps: the first one stores the depth of the scene captured by the player's camera and the second one stores the depth of the scene captured by the light's camera. We then ran a shader that analyzes the two maps and outputs the third one with the ready shadow areas for the current frame. The problem we face is a classic one: Self-Shadowing: A standard way to solve this is to use the slope-scale depth bias and depth offsets, however as we are doing things in a deferred way we cannot employ this algorithm. Any attempts to set depth bias when capturing light's view depth produced no or unsatisfying results. So here is my question: MSDN article has a convoluted explanation of the slope-scale: bias = (m × SlopeScaleDepthBias) + DepthBias Where m is the maximum depth slope of the triangle being rendered, defined as: m = max( abs(delta z / delta x), abs(delta z / delta y) ) Could you explain how I can implement this algorithm manually in a shader? Maybe there are better ways to fix this problem for deferred shadows?

    I'm having a lot of trouble with shadow mapping, and I believe I've found the problem. When passing vectors from the vertex shader to the pixel shader, does the hardware automatically change any of the values based on the semantic? I've compiled a barebones pair of shaders which should illustrate the problem.   • Adding a Shadow to a NSImageView

    Sorry for the seemingly simple question. I have a NSImageView (added in interface builder) and want to add a shadow outline. I tried using the 'Image View Effects' section of the 'Inspector' but this required enabling a core animation layer. If I set it for the 'Content View' I have very strange appearance side effects. If I set it for the 'Image View' the shadow is cropped (sorry, can't resize the image view). Any ideas?

  • Organizing Connections with Folders in Oracle SQL Developer

    How many Oracle databases do you work with on a regular basis? I’m guessing the answer for most of you lies between 1 and 500. This post is really geared for those of you who deal with more than just a handful (5) of database connections. Filters are nice when you need to work with a subset of table data, or even a list of tables. So why wouldn’t they be just as useful for organizing your connections? Here’s my complete list of databases: The folders aren’t there by default, you add them as you need them. Now this isn’t an overly large connection list. But when I need to fire up an impromptu demo for a customer, it’s very nice to be able to drill down into JUST those ‘safe’ environments. This actually saves me a few seconds every time I need to connect to one of my databases. So while it’s a very simple feature, it’s one of those things that I recommend EVERYONE take advantage of as it will save them hours of time over the long haul. Easier to find means I get to work a few seconds faster. This also helps me from making mistakes in ‘production’ environments! How to Add a Connection Folder Select a connection you want to organize. Mouse-right-click, and choose ‘Add to folder.’ You can throw it into a new container or an existing one. Lather, rinse, and repeat as necessary. The only trick is remembering to right-click!   • Impossible to select folders and files with mouse (Ubuntu 12.04)

    First-time post for me here (after being a regular reader for two years though) so thank you all for the quality of replies and help provided. My problem is very simple apparently but a tricky one. I just installed the Ubuntu 12.04(1) along with the Gnome3-shell environment on my new pc desktop Acer Aspire X3995 (see config below). Everything work (more or less) so far (I still have problems of sound and disabled 2-fingers gestures with my screen -- which I will have to deal with xconfig settings I think -- though), but the main problem is that I cannot select files/folders with my USB mouse. When I try to double click on them, nothing happen (sometimes one folder or file is selected but then unselected again). Note that the navigation works perfectly from the USB keyboard and from the touch-screen (I am using a 23" wide touch-screen Acer Monitor T231Hbmid). Also, the mouse works perfectly with other menu navigation, with the only difference that the text of certain menus is selected as if I was holding the left click on them. So I assume the problem is only related to the mouse. Needless to say that the usual basic hardware checks have been performed (unplugging, powered-off, etc.). My level is simply "advanced user", meaning that if you provide me with intelligible input I should find my way, but please don't expect too much technical/specific knowledge... :) Please let me know if you need more information on this bug.   • Windows batch file to delete .svn files and folders

    Hi,in order to delete all ".svn" files/folders/subfolders in "myfolder" I use this simple line in a batch file: FOR /R myfolder %%X IN (.svn) DO (RD /S /Q "%%X") This works, but if there are no ".svn" files/folders the batch file shows a warning saying: "The system cannot find the file specified." This warning is very noisy so I was wondering how to make it understand that if it doesn't find any ".svn" files/folders he must skip the RD command. Usually using wild cards would suffice, but in this case I don't know how to use them, because I don't want to delete files/folders with .svn extension, but I want to delete the files/folders named exactly ".svn", so if I do this: FOR /R myfolder %%X IN (*.svn) DO (RD /S /Q "%%X") it would NOT delete files/folders named extaclty ".svn" anymore. I tried also this: FOR /R myfolder %%X IN (.sv*) DO (RD /S /Q "%%X") but it doesn't work either, he deletes nothing. Thanks for any help!

    So I got this brand new monitor today an noticed the following problem: This happens while I'm moving my browser window for example. It's not font related, it also happens with icons as you can see on the picture. It's only persistend while I'm moving something, the faster I move it, the farther away is the shadow from the origin. I tested it on windows, linux and two different systems with DVI and VGA. Is this a known issue ?   • FreeNX Server w/ nxagent 3.5 not able to create shadow sessions

    I am running a FreeNX server on Ubuntu 11.10 and am unable to do session shadowing. I get the authorization prompt, but the shadow client crashes after. The NX server log in the user's .nx directory is as follows: Error: Aborting session with 'Server is already active for display 3000 If this server is no longer running, remove /tmp/.X3000-lock and start again'. Session: Aborting session at 'Mon Oct 1 14:26:44 2012'. Session: Session aborted at 'Mon Oct 1 14:26:44 2012'. This then deletes the lock file, which is the lock file for the initial Unix session and crashes out. Everything works for a normal session, and shadowing works up to the authorization prompt. I am using this software: Ubuntu 11.10 freenx-server 0.7.3.zgit.120322.977c28d-0~ppa11 nx-common 0.7.3.zgit.120322.977c28d-0~ppa11 nxagent 1:3.5.0-1-2-0ubuntu1ppa8 nxlibs 1:3.5.0-1-2-0ubuntu1ppa8 Any help is appreciated, thanks!

    Im currently in the process of migrating our many BizTalk projects from MKS source control to TFS.  While we will be using TFS for work item tracking and source control etc we will be continuing to use Cruise Control for continuous integration although im updating this to CCNet 1.5 at the same time. Ill post a few things as much as a reminder to myself about some of the problems we come across. Problem After the first build of our code the next time a build is triggered an error is encountered by the TFS source control block refreshing the source code. Interestingly there are other folders created by the build which are deleted fine.  My assumption is that this if something to do with the file adapter polling the directory.  However note that we have not had this problem with other source control blocks in the past.
