  • How's my pygame code?

    I'm still getting the hang of lots of things and thought I should post some code I made with pygame and get some feedback^^. If my code isn't readable, I'm sorry, I'm self taught and this is the first code I've ever posted anywhere. By the way I made some variables that take the screensize and half it to find a point to spit out the squares, but when I try to use it, it makes a weird effect :/ Try switching the list i have in the newbyte() function with the halfScreen variable and see it freak out o.O thank you

    I have this sample string: Image: SGD$45.32 SKU: 3f3f3 dfdfd grg4t BP 6yhf Pack Size: 1000's Color: Green Price: SGD$45.32 SGD$45... I would like to remove all the prices namely: SGD$45.32 Price: SGD$45.32 SGD$45 I have this expression thats supposed to match the 3 groups: $pattern = '/(Price.+\sSGD\$\d+\.\d{2})(SGD\$\d+\.\d{2})(SGD\$\d+)/'; $new_snippet = preg_replace($pattern, '', $snippet);` But apparently its not working. It works if I replace a single group at a time. But, I'd like to know if it possible to replace all possible matching groups with a single statement. Tried preg_match_all($pattern, $snippet, $matches); to show matches based on the above pattern, but no matches are found if I put all 3 groups together.

  • Formatting code snippets for blogging on Blogger

    My blog is hosted on Blogger and I frequently post code snippets in C / C# / Java / XML etc. but I find the snippet gets "mangled". Are there any web sites that I could use to parse the snippet beforehand and sort out the formatting, convert XML "<" to "<" etc. There are a numbers of questions around this area on SO but I couldn't find any that address this question directly. Edit: For @Rich answer, site states "To display the formatted code on your site, you need to get this CSS stylesheet, and add a reference to it in the section of your page". That's the problem - you can't do this on Blogger AFAIK.

  • Forumotion profile customization using jQuery based on URL

    The idea is have a jQuery snippet (I like Jquery...I can understand it better then regular javascript) that will detect that when it has been run on a profile with a url such as "http://customize.forum-motion.com/profile.forum?mode=viewprofile&u=1" (just as an example)...then upon detecting that it is a url of a profile...fetch data from a specific (and most likely hidden) element before wrapping that data in css tags and appending it to the heady of the current document. In short I'm trying to figure out how to make a sort of profile customization system where users can create their own css. The biggest problem I am having so far is figuring out how to make it so that the snippet can figure out what URL its being run on. Is there a function that can do this in jQuery at all?

  • jQuery - color cycle animation with hsv colorspace?

    Hi there, I am working on a project, which I need a special body-background for. The background-color should cycle through the color spectrum like a mood light. So I found this: http://buildinternet.com/2009/09/its-a-rainbow-color-changing-text-and-backgrounds/ "But" this snippet is working with the RGB colorspace which has some very light and dark colors in it. Getting just bright colors will only work with the HSV colorspace (e.g. having S and V static at 100 and letting H cycle). I don’t know how to convert and in fact how to pimp this snippet for my needs. Does anyone has an idea?? Thanks in advance. Best, Floyd

    Hi. I need to run a php code snippet in a Drupal template and not have it cached. The php snippet sniffs for a cookie and if found returns one of messages according to the cookie value. ie: if(isset($_GET['key'])) { $cookievalue = $_GET['key']; } if(isset($_COOKIE['cookname'])) { $cookievalue = $_COOKIE['cookname']; } switch ($cookievalue) { case hmm01: echo "abc"; break; case hmm02: echo "def"; break; case hmm03: echo "ghi"; break; default: echo "hello"; } Right now, Drupal displays the messages randomly according to when the page was first caches and with which cookie - no good at all! I can't see a great deal of info on how I might go about this - it seems that you have to turn the cache off for the page rather than run php code uncached.

    I have a long list of links that I spit out using the below code, total votes, submitted by, the usual stuff but I am not 100% on how to determine if the currently logged in user has voted on a link or not. I know how to do this from within my view but do I need to alter my below view code or can I make use of the way templates work to determine it? I have read http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1528583/django-vote-up-down-method but I don't quite understand what's going on ( and don't need any ofjavascriptery).     I am learning Ruby on Rails. I made a simple link like this: <%= link_to "Alex Link", alexes_path(@alex) %> then I routed it in routes.rb like this: resources :alexes get "home/index" then I am a bit unclear, but I think it goes to this part of the controller: def index #@alexes = Alex.all respond_to do |format| format.html # index.html.erb format.json { render json: @alexes } end end Am I correct that it goes to this part of the controller? Then nothing much happens and it goes to the next page which is index.html.rb under views\alexes So what I am wondering is - if I needed to do some business logic, would I write that in the controller snippet? Where inside the snippet? An example would be nice to take a look. Also, I would like to connect to a MongoDb database. Would I also write that in the middle of the controller? Thanks!

  • I get a 400 Bad Request error while using django-piston

    Hello, I am trying to use Piston to provide REST support to Django. I have implemented my handlers as per the documentation provided . The problem is that i can "read" and "delete" my resource but i cannot "create" or "update". Each time i hit the relevant api i get a 400 Bad request Error.   • Facebook API returning wrong unread thread count

    I'm trying to query the thread FQL table to get all unread messages, and also the count of unread items in the thread. This is how I query the table: SELECT thread_id,updated_time,snippet,snippet_author,unread FROM thread WHERE folder_id=0 AND unread!=0 From reading the doc to which I linked above, it seems to me that unread should include the count of unread messages in the thread. However, I just tested the above call and Facebook gives me back a value of unread=1, despite the thread in question having 4 unread items. A snippet of mine seems like it cannot be converted from one to the other, and if so, I just don't know how to do it and am getting a little frustrated. Here's some background: OrderForm is an abstract class, inherited by Invoice (and also PurchaseOrder). Invoice inv = Invs.Find( (Invoice someInv) => thePO.SubPONumber == someInv.SubInvoiceNumber); However, I get the following error when I do this: Cannot convert lambda expression to delegate type 'System.Predicate' because the parameter types do not match the delegate parameter types Is there any way to fix this without restructuring my whole codebase?

Unfortunately, it seems that both XmlParser and XmlSlurper for Groovy strip newline characters from the attributes of nodes when .text() is called. How can I get at the text of the attribute including the newlines?     I'm using XML::XML2JSON in Perl to convert JSON data to XML, I am passing through the following data (snippet): {"question":{"isrequired":{"$t":"0"}}} and when I use the XML:XML2JSON-json2xml function to convert the JSON data into XML, I get the following (snippet): <isrequired/> I need to retain the "0" element in the "isrequired" tag, because at times, I will have empty JSON elements, and need the empty XML tag. I think the documentation is a bit vague (either that, or I don't understand it), but is this possible to do with this module? I would appreciate the help. Thanks.

    Hello, I would to use JavaScript to clean up text that’s being copied from my site. I use snippets like this: body { vertical-align: middle; ? } Where ? indicates comment later on. I want readers to copy this snippet and use it – so I need to delete that Unicode marker. How can I access text that’s being copied and make changes to it? I considered deleting marker(s) from snippet when user clicks (mousedown) on it, so she could select the text, copy it and then I would restore markers but it seems a really long way to do it.

    I am writing a parser for C. I was just running it with some other language files (for fun, to see the extent C-likeness). It breaks down if the code being parsed contains regular expressions... Case 1: For example, while parsing the JavaScript code snippet, var phone="(304)434-5454" phone=phone.replace(/[\(\)-]/g, "") //Returns "3044345454" (removes "(", ")", and "-") The '(', '[' etc get matched as starters of new scopes, which may never be closed. Case 2: And, for the Perl code snippet, # Replace backslashes with two forward slashes # Any character can be used to delimit the regex $FILE_PATH =~ s@\\@//@g; The // gets matched as a comment... How can I detect a regular expression within the content text of a "C-like" program-file?

    Hi, I'm trying to use the Java commands pw.println() and br.readLine() in Matlab because I have set up a socket (input_socket2) between Matlab and a command-line program I want to control using Java classes BufferedReader and PrintWriter. Before the following snippet of code, I implemented another socket that goes between 2 computers. This works great and I also know that the following snippet of code successfully opens up a communication line between Matlab and the other program. However, Matlab throws an error at pw.println('noop').   • Can a Client Link to My JavaScript, Hosted on a Different Domain?

    Is it possible for me to supply a client with a snippet of HTML which contains a reference to a javascript file that I host? They want to paste this HTML into their CMS, so that when their page loads, it'll load our content. I was under the impression that there was cross domain security preventing this from being possible. What if, instead of linking to the JavaScript, I gave them the snippet of HTML with the JavaScript already included so instead of <div> <!-- link to js --> </div> I gave them <div> $.get(/*url to my content*/); </div> Would that work?

The process is as follows: (1) The site's user enters a search phrase; (2) The search results page searched the site's database, and returns the page title as a link, and a short snippet from each search "hit", with the search phrase highlighted. I already have the search part done, and also the "highlighted" part done (using Regex).   • Two collections and a for loop. (Urgent help needed) Checking an object variable against an inputted

    Hi there, I'm relatively new to java, I'm certain the error is trivial. But can't for the life of me spot it. I have an end of term exam on monday and currently trying to get to grips with past papers! Anyway heregoes, in another method (ALGO_1) I search over elements of and check the value H_NAME equals a value entered in the main. When I attempt to run the code I get a null pointer exception, also upon trying to print (with System.out.println etc) the H_NAME value after each for loop in the snippet I also get a null statement returned to me. I am fairly certain that the collection is simply not storing the data gathered up by the Scanner. But then again when I check the collection size with size() it is about the right size. Either way I'm pretty lost and would appreciate the help. Main questions I guess to ask are: from the readBackground method is the data.add in the wrong place? is the snippet simply structured wrongly? oh and another point when I use System.out.println to check the Background object values name, starttime, increment etc they print out fine.   • Proguard shrinks too much

    Since ADT 17 you can find in the gen folder a BuildConfig class with a DEBUG constant. I often use this constant in my code, since ADT changes the value automatically when you export the application. However with Proguard this doesn't work anymore. E.g. I have following snippet: if (!BuildConfig.DEBUG) { ACRA.init(this); } Proguard notices, that DEBUG is true, so it removes this snippet completely and shrinks the app. After that ADT changes DEBUG constant, but this is too late. The only solution I know is to create my own DEBUG constant and to change it manually again. But I really like the functionality of ADT. Do you know a better solution? Thanks in advance.
