    Hi, I'm using this script to simply create an image from text. What I would like to know is how to save the image instead of printing straight to browser; // an email address in a string $string = $post[$key]; // some variables to set $font = 4; $width = ImageFontWidth($font) * strlen($string); $height = ImageFontHeight($font); // lets begin by creating an image $im = @imagecreatetruecolor ($width,$height); //white background $background_color = imagecolorallocate ($im, 255, 255, 255); //black text $text_color = imagecolorallocate ($im, 0, 0, 0); // put it all together $image = imagestring ($im, $font, 0, 0, $string, $text_color); I know its probably just one line of code at the end but im not sure which GD function to use.     I`m having two projects (x64). A. written in C (wxWidgets) B. written in c++ A compiles fine. B uses funcions of A. When I try to compile, I`m getting several errors. I suggest that the reason for the errors is the same for all, so I mention only the first: It says: strlen: identifier not found. But I have included the headers: #include <stdio.h> #include <string.h> So, currently, I have just no idea where to start to search for the reason of the errors. May it be that I have c and c++ files? May it be that I compile for x64? Thanks for help!

My answer is: n = recv( sock, inbuff, strlen( inbuff ), 0 ); However, I am not sure why *ptr is given in the declaration. So, I would like ask, what is the purpose of the pointer in this question??   • CURL issue in PHP while getting location list

    I am retrieving the nearest locations available from a given address (Longitude/Latitude) from geolocation website. It works fine, but for some places it gives junk characters in the name. Moreover, in browser I am getting different characters compared to my PHP CURL functionality. Here is the URL http://www.geoplugin.net/extras/nearby.gp?lat=17.7374669&long=83.3214858&limit=5&radius=50&format=php One of the location is "Sitampeta" in original location name, but in browser I am getting "Sitammapeta" where as in CURL function I am getting "SÄ«tammapeta". Please tell me why this difference.   • Which is more efficient/faster when calling a cached image?

    Hi, i made an image resizer in php. When an image is resized, it caches a new jpg file with the new dimensions. Next time you call the exact img.php?file=hello.jpg&size=400 it checks if the new jpg has already been created. If it has NOT been created yet, it creates the file and then prints the output (cool). If it ALREADY exists, no new file needs to be generated and instead, it just calls the already cached file. My question is regarding the second scenario. Which of these is faster? redirecting: header('Location: cache/hello_400.jpg');die(); grabbing data and printing the cached file: $data = file_get_contents('cache/hello_400.jpg'); header('Content-type: '.$mime); header('Content-Length: '.strlen($data)); echo $data; Any other ways to improve this?

I want it to work with char and string types, and also any data type i put in it (only if length is defined).     line is fgets'd, and running in a while loop with counter n, d is a struct with 2 char arrays, p and q. Basically, in a few words, I want to read a line, separate it into 2 strings, one up until the first space, and the rest of the line. I clean up afterwards (\n from the file becomes \'0'). The code works, but is there a more idiomatic way to do this?
