• Connection problem between redmine and svn

  I have server controlled by Debian 6.0. I installed and configured redmine some time ago, and now configured svn server. Now i'm trying to configure redmine to be able to view svn repository. URL is: https://192.168.11.78/svn/bee Connection is not working, log show this error: Error parsing svn output: #<REXML::ParseException: No close tag for /lists/list> Google says that its common error, and its possible to fix it by permamently accept of server certificate so i did it and nothing. Still dont work. Later, i added [global] store-plaintext-passwords = no in file .subversion/servers I did this (and cert accept) for both root and www-data users. Nothing helped, still got error in redmine The entry or revision was not found in the repository. What else i can do with it?

  Hi, I setup a cron for taking backup of my SVN repo( 8 GB) to another server. But some times I get errors and I feel that this is not the proper way to back an svn to a remote server. • Compiled git from source, cannot access subversion repositories using git-svn

  I'm setting up a CentOS dev box, and need git. At first I tried to install git using yum, but I could not connect to a yum repository that had git. Next I downloaded the git source (version 1.7.1) and compiled it. When I run the following command git svn clone svn+ssh://... I get the following error. • How to mail merge a hyperlink in Microsoft Word or Publisher 2010

  I am trying to do an e-mail merge in Microsoft Publisher 2010 (which appears to do mail merging like Microsoft Word) and I'm wanting a merged email address to automatically be hyperlinked in the resulting email. For example, one of the merge fields could be "EmailAddress" with an example address being [email protected]. In the document, I would want the merge field "EmailAddress" to display as the default text in an hyperlink and also set the target of the hyperlink to "mailto:EmailAddress" (eg. mailto:[email protected]). I can't figure out how to get Publisher 2010 to do that. I would think that it's possible, though. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

  Is there any way of doing a Mail Merge in Microsoft Word 2007 taking data, including images from a Sharepoint site? It's a bit crude, but I've managed to merge text by taking the data off the sharepoint site as an Excel sheet and then merging that. My problem is what to do with the images. I can set references to the images up in the Sharepoint site, however all I can find is a way of Mail Merging when images are in the same folder as the document you are trying to Merge and I can't find a sensible automated way to pulls these images together into one single folder.

• CC.NET + SVN : Server certificate issue

  I am trying to setup Continuous Integration in our office. Being a puny little developer I am facing this supposedly infamous problem: " Source control operation failed: svn: OPTIONS of 'https://trunkURL': Server certificate verification failed: issuer is not trusted" So I tried the following solution - Run CC.NET service (server running as win service) using a domain account (rather than default LOCAL SYSTEMS) and accept cert permanently using command prompt under that user by using svn log/list on the repo. Doesn't help :(.   I keep a copy of a Subversion Repository on a USB memory stick that is formatted with FAT32. I am using TortoiseSVN on XP and command line svn 1.6.x on Ubuntu and OSX with this memory stick. I notice that I need to do an svn cleanup just about every time or updates and commits will not work. I routinely have errors with .lock and *.svn/text-base/** files getting corrupted. Errors tend to be parameter is incorrect or lock file can not be read Sometimes svn cleanup works and sometimes chflags -R nouchg * Is there anything I can do to prevent this?

  I have hosted my repository in assebbla & it works fine. now I want to write a script that can automate the build process : 1. Take the code from assembla repository 2. Make a dump and copy it onto my web server. what I have researched from net states that use of commands like svn co svn+ssh://[email protected]/home/svn/test I believe I need to open Shell on my server and type these commands but shell has been disabled from my server admin. I tried to run the same from php using exec , admin has disabled that too. (am using shared hosting and want to do a automated deployment using these simple steps. i don't want to bring my local system in this process) now am not sure even if I get the shell access open to my server these commands like svn will work there as I don't have SVN installed on my server (its installed on assembla). kindly let me know if any more explanation is required regarding the same or if am going on the wrong track. Any ideas on where to troubleshoot?   i want to know exactly when i should use either of commit, update and merge command in svn. after i've checked out a project and altered the code, should i use update, commit or merge to stay in sync? correct me if im wrong: update = all changes in the repo is copied to your local project. commit = all changes in your local project is copied to the repo. merge = same as above, but you determine the direction? when do i use each command above?

  I would like to be able to pull changes on a remote server from an SVN server on a local development box. The SVN port is closed to the WAN but available via our LAN and we have a VPN setup locally. Is it difficult to setup the remote server to use VPN to connect to the remote SVN server and update code?   We have a Continuous Integration environment setup with TeamCity and subversion. TeamCity gets the latest source from svn and does a build (Visual Studio) on every commit. Sometimes we get the following TeamCity error when the build runs. Doing a couple of force builds gets TeamCity running succesfully. • Merging deletes in a Team Foundation Server baseless merge

  I have two TFS branches that do not have a direct parent/child relationship in TFS. In a certain revision, 94 in my example, several items were deleted. I have been tasked with applying those deletes to the main branch. I'd like to do so through a baseless merge. I tried the following command to do so: tf merge /baseless /recursive /version:94 .\programs\program1 ..\Release\programs\program1 Most of the items in the tree were marked as "merge", and some were marked as "merge edit". However, none of the items were deleted at the destination. On a whim i tried to merge over a single delete like so: tf merge /baseless /recursive /version:94 .\programs\program1\source1.cs ..\Release\programs\program1\source1.cs I got the following error message: The item [TFS_PATH] does not exist at the specified version. How do I do this? Is there a way to avoid making all those deletes myself?

• How to merge an improperly created "branch" that isn't really a branch (wasn't created by an svn cop

  I'm working on a team with lots of people who are pretty unfamiliar with the concepts of version control systems, and are just kind of doing whatever seems to work, by trial and error. Someone created a "branch" from the trunk that is not ancestrally related to the trunk. My guess is it went something like this: They created a folder in branches. They checked out all the code from the trunk to somewhere on their desktop. They added all that code to the newly created folder as though it was a bunch of brand new files. So the repository isn't aware that all that code is actually just a copy of the trunk. When I look at the history of that branch in TortoiseSVN, and uncheck the "Stop on copy/rename" box, there is no revision that has the trunk (or any other path) under the "Copy from path" column. Then they made lots of changes on their "branch". Meanwhile, others were making lots of changes on the trunk. We tried to do a merge and of course it doesn't work. Because, the trunk and the fake branch are not ancestrally related. I can see only two ways to resolve this: Go through the logs on the "branch", look at every change that was made, and manually apply each change to the trunk. Go through the logs on the trunk, look at every change that was made between revision 540 (when the "branch" was created) and HEAD, and manually apply each change to the "branch". This involves 7 revisions one way or 11 revisions the other way, so neither one is really that terrible. But is there any way to cause the repository to "realize" that the branch really IS ancestrally related even though it was created incorrectly, so that we can take advantage of the built-in merging functionality in Eclipse/TortoiseSVN? (You may be wondering: Why did your company hire these people and allow them to access the SVN repository without making sure they knew how to use it properly first?! We didn't -- this is a school assignment, which is a collaboration between two different classes -- the ones in the lower class were given a very quick hand-wavey "overview" of SVN which didn't really teach them anything. I've asked everyone in the group to please PLEASE read the svn book, and I'll make sure we (the slightly more experienced half of the team) keep a close eye on the repository to ensure this doesn't happen again.)

  im using netbeans for svn. i open a project in netbeans and then i import it to a svn repo. it seems that although im only importing the project folder, svn creates .svn folders in all folders within this project folder. why is that? i thought that i was only creating .svn folders to checked out projects, not imported ones? now this folder acts very weird, when i open this folder as a project in netbeans, netbeans treats it like a svn folder some way. is this normal? cause i want this one to not be under SVN.

• What do the different columns (of letters) mean for the svn merge output?

  The output of SVN merge has 4 columns of letters listed before the file name. I understand the meaning of the letters (mostly) but I can't find any information on the meanings of the columns and so only have a vague understanding based on context. Can anyone point me to the documentation on this? Based on context I've been able to infer that column: Is about text changes to a file Seems to be related to use of the svn ignore command on a folder (or maybe it's just properties of the file?) I've never seen a letter in the third column and hence I have no idea what it means. Might be tree conflicts? This is the one I'm mostly worried about because I don't know how to handle it yet.

  I'm trying to add an svn repository to eclipse. I've installed subclipse, and it seems to be working fine. But, when I try to "add a new SVN repository", I input this, for example: http://svn.python.org/projects/peps/trunk I get this: Error validating location: "org.tigris.subversion.javahl.ClientException: RA layer request failed svn: OPTIONS of 'http://svn.python.org/projects/peps/trunk': could not connect to server (http://svn.python.org) " Keep location anyway? I know that my eclipse can connect to the 'net because I downloaded subclipse earlier (I had to change my proxy settings). I get a similar message for other SVN locations I've tried to add. Anyone have any solutions?
