• Message box does not work in release mode

  I have the following code in a C# windows form application. if (myGrid.Rows.Count != 0) { // do something } else { MessageBox.Show("Test"); } The message box shows up in Debug mode but not in release mode. Any idea why? I am having similar issues with other code as well For instance if (!myParameter) this.mycheckBox.Enabled = false; else this.mycheckBox.Enabled = true; The above code works in debug mode not in release. • Adding my own items to Long Click on Text Box menu on android

  Hi all, I am currently developing an application for android. I'm not sure if this is possible but here it goes. When the user clicks and holds on a text box whether it is a website or a piece of software a menu is displayed which shows paste and input method. What I want to be able to do is add my own items to this menu and when the user clicks on my item it will load my app, they can select an item from a list view. It will then copy the contents and automatically paste it into the text field the user selected. Thanks for your help in this matter

If I run this the alert will show, and then the first animate will happen in the background but not be shown. It will just appear at the final size. Shouldn't the alert run at the end of all the animation? Can anyone explain why this is happening?

  In my django app I display a list of elements (friends name) thanks to a loop: <div> {% for friend in group %} <p>{{ friend.name }} <p> {% endfor %} </div> I would like to create a search box on the top of my list in order to be able to find only the friends the user wants. I would like the search bar does not need to click to send the request (an example is the Airtime searchbox on top of the facebook friends list).   I have a strange issue where the code works fine locally and on a linux server but not on a windows server... Works fine on: bijoudancewear.co.uk/mapper/ Doesn't work on: faringdongolfcourse.co.uk/mapper/ After clicking on map... If you click on 'Department Stores, fashion & Accessories' (2nd from bottom) it loads the appropriate data on the linux box but not on Windows. Also works fine locally on my mac, there is no ASP or PHP, this is good old fashioned html and jquery. Any pointers would be great.

  While load testing an ASP.NET app, we find that the pages are taking 20-30 sec under heavy load. We suspect this is because the pages are waiting for database calls or web services. Is there a particular perfmon counter that can identify this sort of bottleneck on the web servers? CPU, Memory, and Disk are normal. Or must we use a tool other than perfmon to track down this bottleneck?

As it stands right now, various things are out of sync, and what may work in testing/QA can easily fail in production because of settings/patch/etc inconsistencies.   I'm trying to find a utility that will allow me to generate a constant flow of random network traffic at a specified rate between 2 hosts. The utility needs to run on Windows and OSX. I've tried iperf but it seems to be more oriented toward short-term testing/statistics and it really taxes the CPU even at slower rates. I want something that will generate traffic for a few weeks at say 10Mbps while I use other tools to monitor the impact of that level of traffic on the network.

  Hello, I have an Adorner which adornes a Border (please see screenshot below). The MouseDown Event for the Adorner is however only raised, when clicking on an element in the adorner. I need the MouseDown Event to be raised, when clicking on any place in the adorner above the adorned element. How can this be done? • Force screen size when testing embedded DOS app in Windows 7 command window

  I'm doing some embedded DOS development with OpenWatcom (great Windows-hosted compiler for targeting 16-bit DOS applications). The target hardware has a 24x16 character screen (that supposedly emulates CGA to some degree), and I'm trying to get the CMD.EXE window on my Windows 7 machine to stay at a fixed 24x16 without any scroll bars. I've used both the window properties and MODE CON: COLS=24 LINES=16 to get the screen size that I wanted, but as soon as my application uses an INT10 BIOS calls to clear the screen, the mode jumps back to 80x24. • What's the standard location of a 3D clipping box?

  The way I understand 3D rendering, polygons are transformed using several matrices, and they are then clipped if they are not inside a certain box, before projecting the box onto the screen. Before transformation, the visible area is typically a frustum, and after transformation, I am guessing it's a cube. This cube makes the clipping math easier than a frustum would. My question is, what's the 'standard' location/size for this clipping box? I can think of 3 possibilities: (0,0,0)-(1,1,1), (-0.5,-0.5,-0.5)-(0.5,0.5,0.5), (-1,-1,-1)-(1,1,1) Or is there no standard?

  HP Pavilion dm4 with configuration as shown below cpu intel Core i5 2.26 GHz RAM 4.0 GB Graphics processor 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 5450 switchable graphics [HDMI, VGA]. I installed ubuntu 10.04 ( without AMD graphics driver) it was working fine, but when I installed AMD graphics drivers AMD Catalyst™ 12.8 Proprietary Linux x86 Display Driver, than the problem started from then When I boot I was get black screen. Than I thought to upgrade from ubuntu 10.04 to 12.04 using the bootable pen drive but was getting black screen than read on some forums that was because of the switchable graphics, than upgraded ubuntu 12.04 by setting to "nomodeset". It was working, again thought to install graphics driver AMD Catalyst™ 12.8 Proprietary Linux x86 Display Driver, again after installing this, when I boot I am getting blank scree . Can anyone help me to inatall ubuntu 12.04 along with AMD Catalyst™ 12.8 Proprietary Linux x86 Display Driver. Any help is highly appreciated.

• Ubuntu 13.04 boot into black screen, even after installing nvidia drivers, fail at: "Starting Reload cups, upon starting avahi-daemon..."

  I got a new machine with i7 4770k and gefore gtx660. I installed windows and then installed Ubuntu 13.04. In the installation everything went well, after the installation I again boot from the USB and choose try ubuntu, and installed boot-repair because windows automatically boot with no option for ubuntu. After I repaired the boot, I restarted and got into grub, when I chose Ubuntu I got message saying I'm running on low graphics mode and when I pressed ok the screen turned off. I couldn't do anything so I restarted and after reading this post: My computer boots to a black screen, what options do I have to fix it? I got into recovery, selected dpkg and repaired packages. Then I rebooted, and tried to press 'e' and change quiet splash to no splash and nomodeset but unfortunately both of them didn't work, and not the screen didn't get turned off, but I just saw a blank screen. So I rebooted again, entered the recovery, and this time I went to the root shell, and tried to install nvidia drivers from this guide here: http://www.howopensource.com/2012/10/install-nvidia-geforce-driver-in-ubuntu-12-10-12-04-using-ppa/ I rebooted and got the same black screen again (the screen didn't go off, just saw a blank screen). In the grub I see that the kernel is 3.8.0-25. I also checked that the usb files are not corrupted using the check CD from the ubuntu installation screen. I'm really frustrated, I don't know what else can I do. (If someone also knows how can I connect to wifi using the root shell it will be very appreciated, because when I choose the 'enable networking' it again booting me to a black screen.   I have a problem that I want you to help me, I am currently making a website, I am building that website on HTML5 and CSS3 technology, every feature I'd like to use I check it first in "CAN I USE", the technology I use most is box-shadow, and I already made some great things with it but, I have a doubt about the percentage of browser that don't support that technology, the percentage of browser that do not support box-shadow is around 17.12%, and if you see the conclusions (show options = other options = show conclusions) they say that that feature isn't ready yet because they are "Waiting for Opera Mini 5.0-6.0 to expire", I personally think that the best that we can do in order to make people update their browsers is not support older browser, but ... am I right thinking like this? will I have bad consecuences if I don't support older browsers? is worth to work twice just to support older browsers? should I still working with box-shadow?

Doing functional testing of view model, I can mock service proxy to ensure methods are called on the proxy, but how can I ensure that callback method is called as well? • Problem with testing In App with sandbox test account

  Hi, I created a test user account through the Manage User Accounts in iTunes Connect. When you create such an account you have to select a valid storefront for your account. I chose US Store. Now I signed out from the store in App Store settings on my device. Ran the application and tried to perform a purchase. I successfully login with my test account. After I press Confirm when entering my credentials I get an alert, that comes from SKPaymentTransactionStateFailed from the observer. It says "Your account is only valid for purchases in the US iTunes Store". The error state = 0 unknown. Second time when i try to perform the purchase, StoreKit only asks me for a password like the previous login was successful. After entering a password I can perform a purchase. My question is whether it's only because it's a testing account and the application is not actually on AppStore? What should I do to avoid this message or at least to continue the purchasing process? I'm building a fake form collection and stuffing it into a bindingContext object. public abstract class given_a_controller_with_valid_email_input : given_a_controller_context { Establish additional_context = () => { var form = new FormCollection { new NameValueCollection { { "EmailMessageInput.Recipient", "[email protected]"}, { "EmailMessageInput.Body", "Test body." } } }; _bindingContext = new ModelBindingContext { ModelName = "EmailMessageInput", ValueProvider = form }; _modelBinder = new DefaultModelBinder(); }; protected static ModelBindingContext _bindingContext; protected static DefaultModelBinder _modelBinder; } public abstract class given_a_controller_context { protected static MessageController _controller; Establish context = () => { _controller = new MessageController(); }; } Finally, my spec throws an null reference exception when I execute .BindModel() from inside one of my specs: Because of = () => { _model = _modelBinder.BindModel(_controller.ControllerContext, _bindingContext); }; Any clue what it could be? • PHP PCRE differences on testing and hosting servers

  Hi all, I've got the following regular expression that works fine on my testing server, but just returns an empty string on my hosted server. $text = preg_replace('~[^\\pL\d]+~u', $use, $text); Now I'm pretty sure this comes down to the hosting server version of PCRE not being compiled with Unicode property support enabled. The differences in the two versions are as follows: My server: PCRE version 7.8 2008-09-05 Compiled with UTF-8 support Unicode properties support Newline sequence is LF \R matches all Unicode newlines Internal link size = 2 POSIX malloc threshold = 10 Default match limit = 10000000 Default recursion depth limit = 10000000 Match recursion uses stack Hosting server: PCRE version 4.5 01-December-2003 Compiled with UTF-8 support Newline character is LF Internal link size = 2 POSIX malloc threshold = 10 Default match limit = 10000000 Match recursion uses stack Also note that the version on the hosting server (the same version PHP is compiled against) is pretty old. What confuses me though, is that pcretest fails on both servers from the command line with re> ~[^\\pL\d]+~u ** Unknown option 'u' although this regexp works fine when run from PHP on my server. So, I guess my questions are does the regular expression fail on the hosting server because of the lack of Unicode properties? Or is there something else that I'm missing? Thanks all, Gaz.

• Can anyone tell me about a jQuery modal dialog box library that doesn't suck

  jQuery based modal dialog boxes are great as long as you do as much as the example tells you to. I need a jQuery based modal dialog box library that has to have the following characteristics: It should be fast, something like the add and link dialog on StackOverflow. Most libraries take an eternity to load the dialog with its fancy effects and stuff. I want to call it using a script. Show a hidden div or a span element inline. MOst of the libraries talk filling an anchor with rel, class and href=#hiddenDiv sort of things. I need to be able to what I want without adding unnecessary attributes to my anchor. Something like this function showDialog(values) { processToChangeDom(values); changeDivTobeDisplayed(); modalDialog.show(); } It should reflect changes I make to the DOM in the hidden Div. I used facebox and found out that it makes a copy of the hidden div and changes to the DOM doesn't reflect on the modal window. I need to be able call the close modal div using javascript and also attach beforeOpen and afterClose handlers to the action. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have already tried facebox, simplemodal and a whole range of libraries, most of them don't support one or the other of these functions I described above.
