How do I enable/disable a stick pointing device in Ubuntu (9.10)? How can I configure clicking and scrolling with the stick pointer? (I can't click with the stick and scroll the page.)
the date column was selected to sort messages "by date", it appears that
messages were sorted by size instead
clicking on the size column then on the date column resolved the sorting "by
date" issue.
I have a user who is getting a warning message dialog every time he opens a message window in Outlook 2007:
Could not install the custom actions. The object could not be found.
Clicking OK dismisses the dialog and everything appears to work fine.
I have two outlooks 2007 open on two different machines logged in to the same account. The issue is I have is with client-only rules for sound alerts executing intermittently. All other rules work correctly, because they are run on the Exchange Server, but the client-only ones seem to pick and choose when to produce sounds. Is there something I can do to make my client-only rules run reliably on one particular instance of outlook?
command ?+tab? and my Exposé shortcuts have stopped working, and clicking/mousing over dock icons has no effect.
What's wrong? What can I do to get things back?
i have a toshiba laptop with windows vista, i turned on my computer once and it had a little red x on the volume speaker, i reinstalled the drive(im not sure if i did that right though) and now sounds works. but i cant lower the sound with "FN and Up/Down arrows", or mute.

I have a multichannel (4x stereo) audiocard (m-audio delta1010lt) and want to playback /playthru some of the channels live. But I am only able to playback/playthru the left channel on each stereo-input (CH1, CH3, CH5, CH7). For CH2,CH4,CH6,CH8 I see the Windows Volume-Indicator going up and down in the Windows Record-Audiosettings but I don't hear any playback sound.
Is there a way to playback/playthru all input channels?
Is this possible? I want to close programs in the taskbar with middle-click, like tabs in firefox. The best approach I have so far is waiting for the mini-view that pops up when you point with the mouse in the taskbar and then middle-clicking there, but I would like to close them directly.
I'm using Gmail (for domains) When viewing the inbox, converations are sorted by their 'last activity', usualy an email. However, when I view all conversations of a single label, by clicking the label in the box left on the screen, mails are ordered by first activity.
Can anyone confirm this, and does anyone know how I can change this behaviour?
I'm using linux fedora 12 dell inspiron 1545 . But today suddenly touch goes weird.
Few things
I can't click( say menu ) - but clicking on firefox tab closes it.
scrolling works.
I Installed wamp in windows 7 pro, and copied a joomla live site. Everything seems working well except that it doesn't load the images on the page.
Even when I try to access in directly:
localhost/logo.png
Im getting an 403 Forbidden:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /logo.png on this server.
Solutions I have tried are:
Using icacls to grant priviledge
Folder Permissions Issue in Windows 7
manually set the permission by right clicking the image and editing the security.
The question says it all. Inside of the file explorer under Windows XP, I lost all menu items from the top, as well as the toolbars. And right-clicking only gives me the file/directory context menu, nothing to restore the toolbar or the menu. Help. I don't use Windows so much (I much prefer linux), so I don't know all the latest tricks and hacks.
Merci :-)
Is there a way to configure Internet Explorer's "Open links from other programs in:" option per program?
I'm looking for a way to allow different programs to act differently when clicking hyperlinks. For example, if I click a hyperlink in Microsoft Outlook I'd prefer it to open a new tab in the current window (option 2) but if I click a link out of an instant messenger program I'd prefer it to open in the current tab or window (option 3). Version wise I'm looking for a way to do it with IE 8+.
I am really surprised at this behavior. In Virtualmin, I can see the password for any SSH user by clicking the "(Show..)" link next to the "Password ( ) Leave unchanged" option in a variety of locations. I have found that the passwords for all users including users with SSH access are stored in cleartext files in /etc/webmin/... This seems like an unnecessary risk! How can I prevent Virtualmin from storing passwords in this manner?
The start up speed of the new Safari 5 has convinced me to switch to it from Chrome. The only annoyance I have is that I am unable to close a tab by simply middle-clicking on it (which works in pretty much every other browser).
Is there anyway to enable it? Even via extensions?
I don't remember this happening before, but now whenever I play any video in iTunes (podcast video, movie, TV show, iTunes extras stuff but the menus work) it just shows a black screen with the sound playing. If I stop it, select "Computer" in the little output control on the iTunes video control panel that pops up, then play again, it works fine.
What the heck?
Tried rebooting, updating, with and without external monitor.
OSX 10.6.6
Every time I open iTunes I get the the following warning:
Do you want the application "iTunes.app" to accept incoming network connections?
Clicking Deny may limit the application's behavior. This setting can be changed in the Firewall pane of Security preferences.
I always click "Allow" but it still pops up.
I set the OS X firewall to allow incoming connections for iTunes.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
I have a bluray player that has a USB interface that allows me to plug external hard drives and pendrives for me to play movies or music files.
I was wondering if it's possible to have the PC or notebook or any other computer-like device using a USB-USB cable and make the bluray player detects this as an external drive.
Note: I'm using a bluray player as example but it can be the same for DVD players, TV or sound sytems.
I Backed up my site then totally re-did my server with a different Control Panel which created a different directory structure /var/www/vhosts/user/site.com/httpdocs I put the files into the httpdocs folder and put the database back correctly (I think) I can see the main page but clicking on any links gets me a Not Found Message I have tried running update.php and I cannot access /user/login either.
I'm looking for a way to set a group of File Types to "Index Properties and File Contents" (Control Panel, Indexing Options, Advanced Options, File Types).
Basically I'd like to write a batch file that switches that setting for a large group of file types and be able to share it with my entire team. Clicking in the UI is time consuming for everyone.
This is a great solution for bringing up the GUI, but I'd like to create a batch file
What is the command line for Indexing Options?
Suppose I click on a java app's icon, and the app starts normally. How can I find out the path to the java executable that is running the app?
Better yet, is there a way to find the exact command-line invocation of java that would have the same effect as double-clicking on the icon? (Note: I'm aware of open -a, and it is definitely not what I'm asking about here. The command-line invocation I'm interested in should begin with java ..., specify a classpath, etc.)
This may sound like a strange question, but I was wondering if there is software available which can emulate the behaviour of standalone dvd-players. I'm currently debugging a DVD we're creating, and I can't afford to go hopping to my house every time to check.
The reason I'm asking is because the problems just appear on 'some' dvd-players which I cannot predict.
Other option maybe, is there software that can check a VIDEO_TS folder or iso file for errors?
I use Google as my OpenID provider. Once I log into Stackoverflow with my gmail account, can I get Google to somehow automatically log off my account? I prefer not to have my personal google account always logged in. It's not a big deal going to gmail and clicking log off, but if there is a simpler way that would be good.
I just got a new desktop PC and was trying to install Windows 7 on it. Unfortunately I don't have a DVD drive in my laptop to burn a DVD image of Windows installation DVD, so I made a installation USB flash drive. Installation started as normal, but after clicking "Install now" I got a message that Windows can't find CD/DVD drivers and installation can't proceed. I wonder what drivers could it be missing.
Thanks!
my headphones are stereo but I would like the sound from the left and right to be combined then sent to both headphones.
The reason is I'm watching a video where the people speaking are in the right ear as well as the music but they never speak in the left ear (it is not because they on the right side of the screen) If I take the right headphone off then I only hear the music in my left and there is no speaking.
