• How to add ServiceReference to an embedded file?

I want to keep everything self-contained in my class library instead of dropping a file into the website folder.

• Process for linking static ObjC libraries in XCode

  I'm trying to link to a static library and I keep getting linker errors. I've found a few sites that post examples but I have not been able to see what I am doing wrong. First I create a project that will link to my lib add existing files find my .xcodeproj file select "Copy items into destination groups folder"... Select my host project as Add To Targets. Then I add a direct dependency to my host app expand targets double click MyHost.app click + under direct dependencies select my lib Then I set build flags double click MyHost application icon in Groups and Files. click the build tab then I set the OtherLinerFlag to -ObjC then I set Header Search Paths to my header file location for my static library. I pass the compile stage but any classes in my static lib cause linker error: literal-pointer@_OBJC@_cls_refs@SomeClass in MyHost.o thanks!

  It is fairly well known in JavaScript that declaring variables within the global scope is a bad thing. So code I tend to work on contains namespaced JavaScript. There seems to be two different approaches taken to this - Adding your application specific functions to the libraries' namespace e.g. $.myCarouselfunction Creating your own namespace e.g. MyApplication.myCarouselFunction I wanted to know whether or not there is a 'better' solution or if they tend to meet somewhere close in terms of pros and cons. The reason for me personally deciding not to go with the library is for Seperation / Isolation / Lack of conflict with library code and potential plugins that are likely to share that namespace. But I am sure there is more to this. Thanks

  I am looking for a .NET library that is able to decode data from a PDF-417 barcode that is embedded either in an image file or PDF. At this point, I have only been able to find a Java version and a C version. Ideally, this library would be both open-source and free of charge, but I doubt such a decoder exists. I am open to trying out demos of existing products that you may have had experience with - which leads me to the question - have you had any experience reading PDF-417 barcodes embedded in images or PDFs using .NET, and which of the available products would you recommend to do so?

  *Its only Debug-time error, but a very weird one. Problem: While running with Debugger attached and calling a method, exposed in separate Portable library, returning ConfiguredTaskAwaitable, we get InvalidProgramException. Repro: Having 2 projects: PortableClassLibrary (supporting .Net 4.5; Windows Store; Windows Phone 8) with 1 class: public class Weird { public static ConfiguredTaskAwaitable GetConfiguredTaskAwaitable() { return new ConfiguredTaskAwaitable(); } } ConsoleApplication with code: static void Main(string[] args) { Weird.GetConfiguredTaskAwaitable(); } Notes: replacing ConfiguredTaskAwaitable with ConfiguredTaskAwaitable<T> (a generic version) fixes this strange issue consuming this method form WP8 or Win8 app under Debugger works fine. Currently it causes problems cause I cant run my Unit Tests under Debugger. I'm forced to change my "ObjectUnderTest" implementation to return generic ConfiguredTaskAwaitable<T>, which is fine for the real project, but still is only a workaround. The Question is: does anybody knows the reason of this error? It definitely related to Portable Class Library magic.

• Trouble using xib files in libraries

  Hi there, I'm having some trouble working with libraries and included xib files. Let me explain my situation first. I've got a project that's running pretty good. Now I need a part of my project as a library for another customer who want's to use some of the functionality in his app. I've created a library with help of that highly recommended article. My customer should be able to initialize a main view controller like this: LibraryMainViewController *lmvc = [[LibraryMainViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"LibraryMainViewController.xib" bundle:foo]; That for sure leads to an error when I try to present that view controller modally. I'm not sure what bundle I have to use here. I tried something like [NSBundle bundleForClass:[SomeClassInTheLibrary class]]; but that didn't solve the problem. I would be glad if someone could tell me how to actually use a xib file in that kind of situation. Thanks –f

• Do Portable Class Libraries work with .net 3.5?

  I am running Windows 8 and have both Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate w/sp1 and Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate and I am trying to create a Portable Class Library that supports .net 3.5 and greater. When I first try to create a PCL I get a screen like this: I noticed that .net 3.5 is not in the list so I clicked on "Install additional frameworks" and found a Targeting Pack for version 3.5. But when I download and run "dotnetfx35setup.exe" nothing happens. And when I go back into VS and try to create a new Portable Class Library, it lists the same target frameworks as before. I have also turned on the Windows Features for .NET Framework 3.5 and am now out of ideas. Here is a screen shot in case I missed something else. Thanks,

  Hi guys, I have some class which uses boost singleton. It calls some function from own c++ library. This library is written in make file as dependence. Now I have another singleton class and it should call first singleton class. After this code I got linkers error about undefined references for functions which are used in first singleton. When I remove calling first singleton class from second the errors remove. Maybe there is something wrong?

• delphi finalizalization code in a DLL

  I am moving some functions to a shared DLL (I want to have some called as a Windows hook). The actual functions are currently in a unit, and it happens to have some initialization and some finalization code. I was initially thinking on doing a direct transformation from a unit to a library. So I moved the initialization code in between the main begin and end.. But then I realized I had no place to move the finalization code. I should create and register an special DLL entry point, instead. My question is. Can I leave the unit with all the functions and the initialization and finalization codes and just create a library stub that uses the unit? will the finalizationit be called?

• Dynamic libraries are not allowed on iOS but what about this?

  I'm currently using LuaJIT and its FFI interface to call C functions from LUA scripts. What FFI does is to look at dynamic libraries' exported symbols and let the developer use it directly form LUA. Kind of like Python ctypes. Obviously using dynamic libraries is not permitted in iOS for security reasons.   Hi, I'm trying to create a dynamic grid using Extjs. The grid is built and displayed when a click event is fired then an ajax request is sent to the server to fetch the columns, records and records definition a.k.a Store Fields. Each node could have different grid structure and that depends on the level of the node in the tree. To mitigate this problem, I tried destroying the grid and also removing the grid element on each request, and that seems to solve the problem only that records never get displayed this time. if(grid) { grid.destroy(true); } The behavior i'm looking for is to display the result of a grid within a tab and if that tab exists replaced the old grid. • Vertical textes inside of table headers with respect of a JavaScript based on SVG library

  I use jqGrid with many columns contains Boolean information, which are displayed as checkboxes inside of table (see http://www.ok-soft-gmbh.com/VerticalHeaders/TestFixedO.htm as an example). To display information more compact I use vertical column headers. It works very well and works in jqGrid in all browsers (see my discussion with Tony Tomov in jqGrid forum http://www.trirand.com/blog/?page_id=393/feature-request/headers-with-vertical-orientation/), but in IE vertical texts looks not nice enough. I was asked from users why the texted displayed so strange. So I think about using a JavaScript based SVG library like SVG Web ( http://code.google.com/p/svgweb/ ) or Raphaël ( http://raphaeljs.com/ ). SVG is very powerful and it is difficult to find a good example is not very easy. I need only display vertical texts (-90 grad, from bottom to up) and use if possible without working in mode of absolute position. So one more times my question: I need have a possibility to display vertical texts (-90 grad rotation) inside of <td> element of table header. I want use a JavaScript based SVG library like SVG Web or Raphaël. The solution must support on IE6. Have somebody a good reference to example which could help me to do this? If somebody post a whole solution of the problem I would be happy. I was able to get the test files running fine from the command line, which requires that on Linux I export the path to the payment libraries to LD_LIBRARY_PATH. to try to test this on my server I have created the apache config below <VirtualHost 127.0.0.1:12345> AddHandler cgi-script .cgi AddHandler fcgid-script .php .fcgi FCGIWrapper /my/path/to/php_fcgi/bin/php-cgi .php AddType text/html .shtml AddOutputFilter INCLUDES .shtml DocumentRoot /my/path/to/cybersource/simapi-php-5.0.1/ ProxyPreserveHost on <Directory /my/path/to/cybersource/simapi-php-5.0.1> SetEnv LD_LIBRARY_PATH /my/path/to/cybersource/LinkedLibraries/lib/ AllowOverride all Options +Indexes IndexOptions Charset=UTF-8 </Directory> </VirtualHost> I have set the env variable there with SetEnv command, which seems to be working when i run a page that prints <?php phpinfo(); ?> however the test script when called through the browser still wont work, apache says: tail /my/apache/error_log [Tue Mar 30 23:11:46 2010] [notice] mod_fcgid: call /my/path/to/cybersource/index.php with wrapper /my/path/to/cybersource/php_fcgi/bin/php-cgi PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/my/path/to/cybersource/extensionsdir/php5_cybersource.so' - libspapache.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0 so it cant find the linked file libspapache.so even though it is in the LD_LIBRARY_PATH that is supposedly defined i really appreciate the help. thanks so much.

  I am having some trouble understanding the behavior of the following Scheme program: (define c (dynamic-wind (lambda () (display 'IN)(newline)) (lambda () (call/cc (lambda (k) (display 'X)(newline) k))) (lambda () (display 'OUT)(newline)))) As I understand, c will be bound to the continution created right before "(display 'X)". But using c seems to modify itself! The define above prints (as I expected) IN, X and OUT: IN X OUT And it is a procedure: #;2> c #<procedure (a9869 . results1678)> Now, I would expect that when it is called again, X would be printed, and it is not! #;3> (c) IN OUT And now c is not a procedure anymore, and a second invokation of c won't work! #;4> c ;; the REPL doesn't answer this, so there are no values returned #;5> (c) Error: call of non-procedure: #<unspecified> Call history: <syntax> (c) <eval> (c) <-- I was expecting that each invokation to (c) would do the same thing -- print IN, X, and OUT.   I'm writing a PHP extension similar to V8JS. The goal, like V8JS, is to embed the V8 engine into PHP so I can execute sandboxed JavaScript code in PHP. (The implementation is different.) • semi dynamic cdn

  i'm developing couple of websites using php (directory script, etc.) and wordpress as cms. i need to improve its performance, by using cdn for static files (css, js, images). the problem is, css and javascript files are generated on the fly. i did that due to yahoo and some expert advice to combine the files into one file. also changing basic color of css files. for the time being, i use couple of small vps but still its not fast enough. i already contact maxcdn and the support guy said that they dont have such kind of services. what i need is: a cdn that will serve the request from user/visitor and there's no file in local disk, the cdn will redirect/fetch it from another domain/server. in vps, it could be done easily using combination of .htaccess and php, but NOT in the cdn. most of cdn only support purely static files. is there any such cdn that will server semi-dynamic files?
