• Start thread with two parameters

  I've got a method that gets called on an event, which presents me with two variables varA, varB (both strings). This method gets called with new information quite frequently, thus I have created a separate method that takes in the two parameters. I want to run this method in a thread, however have struck the issue that Thread.Start will not accept parameters. I've tried a few supposed methods, but have so far had no luck.. I think my best bet is to create a separate class, and handle it there.. However I have a List which I am inserting data into, and hit a dead end when the separate class tried to access that list, since it was in a different class. Can someone help me out here please?

• Mandatory Embedded schema field not throwing excepiton when empty in SDL Tridion 2011

  I am pulling back to the basic schema questions in Tridion 2011. I have an embedded schema with three optional fields and I referred this schema in a content schema and marked it as mandatory. When I create a component and save it without entering data to this mandatory field; CME is not throwing any exception and proceeds with saving. Please let me know if there are any patches to resolve this issue. Thanks in advance.

  I'm trying to find the actual class of a django-model object, when using model-inheritance. Some code to describe the problem: class Base(models.model): def basemethod(self): ... class Child_1(Base): pass class Child_2(Base): pass If I create various objects of the two Child classes and the create a queryset containing them all: Child_1().save() Child_2().save() (o1, o2) = Base.objects.all() I want to determine if the object is of type Child_1 or Child_2 in basemethod, I can get to the child object via o1.child_1 and o2.child_2 but that reconquers knowledge about the childclasses in the baseclass. I have come up with the following code: def concrete_instance(self): instance = None for subclass in self._meta.get_all_related_objects(): acc_name = subclass.get_accessor_name() try: instance = self.__getattribute__(acc_name) return instance except Exception, e: pass But it feels brittle and I'm not sure of what happens when if I inherit in more levels.

  Hey guys, lately I was studying a bit of Java, when I was taught about a way to implement a controller class, whose resposibility is to redirect the request to an Action, which perfoms a specified work.   Hi, I have just started learning Scala and I'm now wondering how I could implement two different Java interfaces with one Scala class? Let's say I have the following interfaces written in Java public interface EventRecorder { public void abstract record(Event event); } public interface TransactionCapable { public void abstract commit(); } But a Scala class can extend only one class at a time. How can I have a Scala class that could fulfill both contracts? Do I have to map those interfaces into traits? Note, my Scala classes would be used from Java as I am trying to inject new functionality written in Scala into an existing Java application. And the existing framework expects that both interface contracts are fulfilled.

  I wrote a remote service MyremoteImpl.java and used following command after compiled it. rmic MyRemoteImpl I learned that this method suppose to create stub class and a skeleton class but I can only see the stub class, why is that? • .NET Framework - Possible memory-leaky classes?

  Just the other day I was investigating a memory leak that was ballooning the app from ~50MB to ~130MB in under two minutes. Turns out that the problem was with the ConcurrentQueue class. Internally, the class stores a linked list of arrays. When an item is dequeued from the ConcurrentQueue, the index in the array is bumped, but the item remains in the array (i.e. it's not set to null). The entire array node is dropped after enough enqueues/dequeues, so it's not technically a leak, but if storing only a few large objects in the ConcurrentQueue, this can get out of hand fast. The documentation makes no note of this danger. I was wondering what other potential memory pitfalls are in the Base Class Library? I know about the Substring one (that is, if you call substring and just hold onto the result, the whole string will still be in memory). Any others you've encountered?
