  • help with click-to-copy-into-clipboard function and open new frame/page

    Hi, Im currently building a new discount-webpage and Im looking for a solution to be able to hover over a discount button to reveal a small text without clicking. And after clicking on the button that the text in the flash button is copied into the clipboard and a new page open with a small frame from my window with the new page underneith. examples of this kind of script can be viewed on this page: http://www.retailmenot.com/ on the yellow boxes with the discount text. Im not looking for a free script or for someone to do this for me. All I want to know if there is another language to do this with like possibly java? and maybe some links to tutorials. (the current page solves this with flash which I havent worked with before.)

  • Help with why my app crashed?

    I'm writing an iPad app that is a "kiosk" app. The iPad should be hanging on the wall and the app should just run. I did a test, starting the app last night (Friday, December 31) and letting it run. This morning, when I woke up, it was not running. I just checked the iPad's console and I can't figure out why it crashed. The iPad was plugged in and so the battery is not the issued. I did disable the idleTimer in my application delegate. The app was seen running as late as midnight last night. I would like to note that my app acts as a Bluetooth server through Game Kit and large portion of the console output is occupied by bluetooth status messages. When I opened the iPad, the app was paused and there was a system alert which prompted me to check an "Expiring Provisioning Profile". I tapped "dismiss" and the alert went away. The app crashed about a second after I dismissed the system alert. Any ideas how I can diagnose this problem? Why would my app crash? Here is my iPad's Console log, as copied from Xcode's organizer. Edit: A bit of Googling lead me to this site which says that alert views cause the app to lose focus. Could that be involved? What can I do to fix the problem? EDIT2: My Crash log describes the situation as: Application Specific Information: appname failed to resume in time Elapsed total CPU time (seconds): 10.010 (user 8.070, system 1.940), 100% CPU Elapsed application CPU time (seconds): 9.470, 95% CPU

    hi! in my website when session gets timed out nd after that we click on any button or perform action it gives random error as input string not in correct format.. how do i resolve problem?? i've 500 pages in whole website...and 20 master pages...so can't check for session on each page... i wrote code in global.asax application_error method...tht if error occur and session is null than redirect to default page..it worked....but when page is in frame..it does not refresh the whole pahe..only frame redirects the page...so the panel of master page remains same..

    So I am Reflector-ing some framework 2.0 code and end up with the following deconstruction fixed (void* voidRef3 = ((void*) &_someMember)) { ... } This won't compile due to 'The right hand side of a fixed statement assignment may not be a cast expression' I understand that Reflector can only approximate and generally I can see a clear path but this is a bit outside my experience. Question: what is Reflector trying to describe to me? Update: Am also seeing the following fixed (IntPtr* ptrRef3 = ((IntPtr*) &this._someMember)) Update: So, as Mitch says, it is not a bitwise operator, but an addressOf operator. Question is now: fixed (IntPtr* ptrRef3 = &_someMember) fails with an 'Cannot implicitly convert type 'xxx*' to 'System.IntPtr*'. An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?)' compilation error. So I seemed to be damned if I do and damned if I dont. Any ideas?

  • Android: Help with tabs view

    So I'm trying to build a tabs view for an Android app, and for some reason I get a force close every time I try to run it on the emulator. When I run the examples, everything shows fine, so I went as far as to just about copy most of the layout from the examples(a mix of Tabs2.java and Tabs3.java), but for some reason it still wont run, any ideas? Here is my code(List1.class is a copy from the examples for testing purposes).     I'm trying to select a record with the most effective votes. Each record has an id, the number of upvotes (int) and the number of downvotes (int) in a MySQL database. I know basic update, select, insert queries but I'm unsure of how to form a query that looks something like: SELECT * FROM topics WHERE MAX(topic.upvotes - topic.downvotes). Please excuse my made up SQL. The tutorials on SQL I find on the internet cover very basic stuff. Does anyone recommend a good book on this subject?

    I have this function for adding options to a Select list: function addOption(selectbox, value, text, cl ) { var optn = document.createElement("OPTION"); optn.text = text; optn.value = value; if (cl==1){ optn.className = "nav_option_main"; } selectbox.options.add(optn); } I have just discovered the "optgroup" tag, but I don't know how to implement it to the drop list. The function above is called on another selectboxes "OnChange" event, to fill sub-select-box with the desired options. I don't think it should be too difficult to add the "optgroup" tag into this, or is it? Thanks and if you need more input let me know...

    A column in my table contains email addresses. I have a text string that contains the a few usernames of email addresses separated by commas. I can make text sting into an array if necessary to get my SELECT WHERE clause to work correctly. Text string search argument is 'bob,sally,steve' I want to produce a WHERE clause that only returns rows where the username portion of the email address in the table matches one of the usernames in my text string search argument. Thus a row with [email protected] would not be returned but [email protected] would be. Does anyone have a WHERE clause sample that produces this result? Thanks.

    Hi All, I have an interface and two objects implementing that interface, massively simplied; public interface MyInterface { public int getId(); public int getName(); ... } public class A implements MyInterface { ... } public class B implements MyInterface { ... } We are migrating from using one implementation to the other but I need to check that the objects of type B that are generated are equivalent to those of type A. Specifically I mean that for all of the interface methods an object of Type A and Type B will return the same value (I'm just checking my code for generating this objects is correct). How would you go about this? Map<String, MyInterface> oldGeneratedObjects = getOldGeneratedObjects(); Map<String, MyInterface> newGeneratedObjects = getNewGeneratedObjects(); // TODO: Establish that for each Key the Values in the two maps return equivalent values. I'm looking for good coding practices and style here. I appreciate that I could just iterate through one key set pulling out both objects which should be equivalent and then just call all the methods and compare, I'm just thinking there may be a cleaner, more extensible way and I'm interested to learn what options there might be.     Hi, I have project, already developed using canvas and lib used is LCDUI. It's for nokia keyboard supported devices. Now I want to incorporate same application for touch devices. I have used touch methods like pointerpressed, etc. For normal functionality that worked pretty well. But it creates problem in commands. My application is in fullscreen mode. Commands I have created using user defined menu list. Probles is that I can not directly identify that which command has been clicked. Setting coordinates for every command is not thr feasible solution for me. I come across the new lib LWUIT, but i found out that it supports only forms(Can't we use on canvas?). and integrating LCDUI and LWUIT is also not possible(please give suggestion that can we use both in same application?). Is it possible to create form under canvas itself? Any other lib support available? thank you.

    Hi guys.. The question im struggling with is this: i have a list of helicopter names in different charters and i need to find out WHICH helicopter has the least amount of charters booked. Once i find that out i need to ONLY display the one that has the least. I so far have this: SELECT Helicopter_Name COUNT (Distinct Charter_NUM) FROM Charter_Table GROUP BY Helicopter Name ^ this is where i am stuck, i realise MIN could be used to pick out the value that is the smallest but i am not sure how to integrate this into the command. EDIT: Oh i should probably mention, the $lines var is initiated like this: $lines = file('filename.txt'); and inside that file i have formatted like this First1 Last1 First2 Last2 First3 Last3 etc. and i hit delete after each Last name until the next first name is touching, then hit enter to put it on a new line (Editor is notepad++)

    Hi, this is what I want to achieve: 4 tables are involved: Players with PlayerID as PK, Competitions with CompetID as PK Results with ResultID as PK and CompetID as FK And the 4th table: PlayerResultts with ResultID + PlayerID as PK and CompetID as new column I created. Competitions, results and PlayerResults are already populated and quite large (300000 PlayerResults so far). In order to populate the PlayerResults.CompetID column, I try a Update ... (Select....) request but I'm not aware of the right syntax and it fails. Here is my feeble attempt: update PlayerResults set competid = (select distinct(r.competid) from results r, playerresults p where r.resultID = p.resultid) Error is (of course): "Msg 512, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Subquery returned more than 1 value. This is not permitted when the subquery follows =, !=, <, <= , , = or when the subquery is used as an expression." Can someone put me in the right direction? TIA

  • Help debugging Apache, Passenger and Rails problem

    We have an environment running that uses Apache, Passenger and rails. The system is handling most request normally, yet certain requests do not make it to the rails application. For instance, a request to /books is successful, but /books/1 hits apache and passenger, but does not even make it to rails. We set the apache log level to debug and the passenger log level to 3 so that we could monitor all incoming requests. We could see each request coming through and even the /books/1 request is being handled by passenger. But it never gets to rails. Is there any way to determine where the request goes between Passenger and rails or where debugging information might live? Has anyone ever seen any problems with passenger spawning or queuing? We have spawning set to conservative. Also, we have had some permission/ownership problems in the past, so I am not ruling this out yet. Thanks in advance

  • Help submitting an asp.net form with jquery

    I'm trying to post the entire asp.net form to a certain url. I have tried: $.post("http://www.someaddress.com", $("form").serialize()); I have also tried: $.ajax({ type:"POST", url:"http://www.someaddress.com", data: $('form').serialize(), success: function(){ alert('yay'); } }); In both cases the submit is fine but no data is passed along with it. When i test the form.serialize() in firebug console, this shows my form serialized just fine. When i view the submit in fiddler, i can see that the data part is not set. Maybe im not understanding the data part, but every single tutorial shows this as the way to go - serialize the form and set that as data. What must i do to get my serialized form as the data in my request? What am i missing? Also - why does the NET tab in firebug show all these requests as method OPTIONS?
