  I have 2 pc one on Vista and one on Windows 7. After a few dozen hours http is slowing down by 3/4 times on Windows 7 even when using a localhost server. I have to reboot to have normal speed again. This has never happened with Vista. Has anybody experienced that ?

• Rails: savage_beast forum plugin and tinymce - new post works but edit doesn't use tinymce properly

  Hi all. I'm using the savage_beast forum plugin and tinymce (via the tinymce_hammer plugin) in my rails app. When posting a new post, tinymce works fine. However, when i go to edit a post i get the tinymce editor, but the content in the edit box has all been converted into html. Can anyone tell me how i get it so that what appears in the tinymce edit box is the original text i posted, rather than the converted-to-html version? Does it need to get converted back from html into a format tinymce will use? Savage_beast saves the original given text in a body field, and the converted-to-html text in a body_html field. After tinymce does its work in the first instance (ie when posting a new post) the body field gets text that's already been converted to html. So i guess i need to convert it back to whatever tinymce expects? I'd expect tinymce to be happy with getting html, and to just handle it, though. grateful for any advice - max

  I am trying to send a POST request to Drupal's Services module & JSON_Server module, however I am getting { "#error": true, "#data": "Invalid method " } Since PhoneGap runs html files from locally on the phone, should i need to worry about JSONP. The issue I have with that is that I must POST data, and JSONP only allows for GET. Any ideas would be helpful. • jQuery .post gets null data

  Hey everyone. This is my first post here, so I hope I'm doing it appropriately. I have several jQuery $.post calls that work just fine. They send data to a PHP script that modifies a database and returns some data. No problem. But this one doesn't work. The returned data is just NULL. $.post("act_addTaskLog.php", {description: $("#logFormDescription").val(), complete: $("#logFormComplete").is(':checked'), taskId: $("#logFormTaskId").val(), user: <?php echo $_SESSION['user']; ?>}, function(data) { alert("data: " + data); } ); I've tried everything I can think of, to no avail. I've even tried just one line in my PHP script: die("true"); Firebug shows that the script is being executed, but it's not completing. The alert message displays just with the label "data:" in it, no actual data. Thanks in advance for your help!

  As part of my Ant build process, I'd like to upload files to a webserver via HTTP Post. Ant only comes with an HTTP Get task. However, Ant Contrib seems to have an HTTP Post task. The problem is that it doesn't have any authentication (like get does) or any way to specify a file upload (despite what the docs say, "rawFile" is not part of the distro). My question is: does Ant Contrib's Post task actually support what I want, but in a non-obvious way (perhaps I have to do it by hand)? Or is there some other way to do this?

• Selenium RC test - IE gives 403 error on Tomcat app, Tomcat root OK

  I'm new to Selenium RC, having previously used Selenium IDE and only run tests in Firefox. I'm trying to get a basic test to run using Selenium RC through Eclipse; my test works OK in Firefox, and in Safari now that I've killed the pop-up blocker, but IE8 is causing a SeleniumException to be thrown, containing an "XHR ERROR" with a 403 response: com.thoughtworks.selenium.SeleniumException: XHR ERROR: URL = http://localhost:8080/pims Response_Code = 403 Error_Message = Forbidden at com.thoughtworks.selenium.HttpCommandProcessor.throwAssertionFailureExceptionOrError(HttpCommandProcessor.java:97) at com.thoughtworks.selenium.HttpCommandProcessor.doCommand(HttpCommandProcessor.java:91) at com.thoughtworks.selenium.DefaultSelenium.open(DefaultSelenium.java:335) at org.pimslims.seleniumtest.FirstTest.testNew(FirstTest.java:32) ... I can do a similar test on http:/ /localhost:8080 (space between the slashes here because SO thinks I'm spamming) and it's fine - I can make IE open that Tomcat default page and click a link. It's only if I try to open my application at http:/ /localhost:8080/pims that I see this error - and only in IE. I can open that URL in IE by typing it into the address bar. I was convinced that there's some setting in IE that's causing this, but I've tried everything I can think of. http:/ /localhost:8080 is in my Trusted Sites, and I've turned the security for that zone down to the minimum, allowed anything that looks related to popups, etc. If I try adding http:/ /localhost:8080/pims/ to Trusted Sites, IE says it's already there. I've also messed around with proxy settings, to no avail, but may have missed something obvious. I've tried starting the test with *iexplore, *iehta, and *iexploreproxy - all behave the same. Is there something I've missed?   I'm currently building a facebook application. Lets say I have a variable $uid that identifies the user so I can store this in my database along with their submitted data. I pass $uid and $data via json encoded values using $.post. However, this doesn't prevent someone changing $uid to save data as someone else. I have been thinking about how to overcome this, so far I haven't found a solution apart from: create database with $uid $secretkey on first page load. When $.post send $secretkey with the post and then retrieve the $uid from the database. Would this be the correct approach to use?

  I am trying to use Twitter OAuth and my POST requests are failing with a 401 (Invalid OAuth Request) error. For example, if I want to post a new status update, I am sending a HTTP POST request to https://twitter.com/statuses/update.json with the following parameters - status=Testing&oauth_version=1.0&oauth_token=xxx& oauth_nonce=xxx&oauth_timestamp=xxx&oauth_signature=xxx& oauth_consumer_key=xxx&in_reply_to=xxx&oauth_signature_method=HMAC-SHA1` My GET requests are all working fine. I can see on the mailing lists that a lot of people have had identical problems but I could not find a solution anywhere. I am using the oauth.py Python library.

  I've got a web page where the user can add a new item to a category and that item is saved to the database. However, the ID of the item is an identity value for the database table, so I don't know what the ID will be, and I need this ID so that the user can edit the item later.   I have a dynamically generated form that allows users to enter new data and edit existing data. When the form is submitted, it collates the input values and groups them according to whether they are new or not, the former being denoted by class="new-entry". So the function generates two arrays: updateData and insertData. Both arrays are of similar formats: [ 0: { 'id' = 1, 'value' = foo }, 1: { 'id' = 1, 'value' = 'bar' }, etc... ] I am combining them into a new array object to send via ajax to the controller: var postData = { 'update_data': updateData, 'insert_data': insertData }; Then in the ajax call: $.post(url, postData, function() { // some code }); However, in the controller, doing print_r($this->input->post()) or print_r($_POST) as a test only returns Array(). Even $this->input->post('update_data') returns nothing. How can I retrieve these arrays in the controller?

In other words, Button Click Event() from code behind will execute the necessary. After that, I would like to post the same data to another ASp.Net Page, aspx from another domain. So, how can I do it? I tried creating a Form in Button Click Event and a javascript to Submit the Form so that it will post. But the Form is not appearing hence there is already aForm` on the page.   I'm testing out a piece of code to ping a bunch of websites I own on a regular basis, to make sure they're up. I'm using rails and so far I have this hideous test action that I'm using to try it out (see below). The problem though, is that sometimes it works, and other times it won't ... sometimes it runs through the code just fine, other times, it seems to completely ignore the begin/rescue block ... a. I need help figuring out what the problem is b. And refactoring this to make it look respectable. • POST data disapearing on large file upload

  I'm having issues with a file uploading utility in my PHP application. When sending large files (9MB+) over the form, I get a very odd behaviour: the POST data I've included in the form dissapears, including the file information. I've already increased all PHP limits I could (time limit, max input time, post max size, memory limit and upload max filesize) and I still can't get the proper behaviour. I've tried replacing the regular HTTP forms with a Flash-based solution (SWFUpload, www.swfupload.org), still the same behaviour. I've tried multiple files of similar sizes and its definitely not a particular file issue. I've debugged the POST vars sent using Firebug, and the correct variables are still there in the header, together with the file. What could be going on here?

• Java document parsing over internet using POST

  I've looked all around and decided to make my own library for accessing the EVE API. Requests are sent to a server address such as /account/Characters.xml.aspx. Characters.xml.aspx requires two item be submitted in POST and then it returns an XML file. • POST Ajax call results in not found using jqGrid and ASP.NET MVC 2 on IIS6

  This is puzzling me. I deployed an MVC 2 application to IIS6 and everything works fine except for my jqGrid calls to get data. All is well on my development machine, but here are the two URLs I'm working with Local dev web server: POST http://localhost:port/Ctrl.mvc/JsonMethod IIS6 (notice https - not sure if that matters) POST https://www.domain.com/AppName/Ctrl.mvc/JsonMethod The latter URL results in a HTTP 404, which is really confusing as all works well on my local machine. The JsonMethod is properly declared with [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] Let me know if any more info is needed - I appreciate any and all help with this!

  I have a form that posts back to /Edit/ and my action in controller looks like this: // // POST: /Client/Edit [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Edit(Client client) My form includes a subset of Client entity properties and I also include a hidden field that holds an ID of the client. The client entity itself is provided via the GET Edit action. Now I want to do entity update but so far I've only been trying without first loading the entity from the DB. Because the client object that comes in POST Edit has everything it needs. I want to update just those properties on the entity in datastore. So far I've tried with Context.Refresh() and AttachTo() but with no success - I'm getting all sorts of exceptions. I inspected the entity object as it comes from the web form and it looks fine (it does have an ID and entered data) mapped just fine. If I do it with Context.SaveChanges() then it just inserts new row..

My question is - for "modern browsers" [Chrome, Safari, FF, IE8] - it is my understanding that setting "Access-Control" headers Access-Control-Allow-Origin: http://www.test.com Access-Control-Allow-Methods: POST, GET, OPTIONS Access-Control-Allow-Headers: * Access-Control-Max-Age: 1728000 Will allow these "POST" requests to work ? But for IE7 we need to implement some "custom" JSONP solution? Am I correct in this ?
