  • HD Radeon 6950 cannot run multiple monitors

    I'm having troubles getting multiple monitors to run on my graphics card. I plug one via the hdmi, and one into the DVI (I have tried both available DVI ports). with one DVI port it does not even register the monitor, with the second one I go into the Catalyst Control Center and it gives me the option to swap between the HDMI and the DVI port. I guess since this is the flex edition I could just go get 2 DSP to HDMI converters, plug 2 monitors in through the available DSP, and than the 3rd one into the HDMI, but do you have any idea why it will not let me run one HDMI and one DVI?

  • Concrete examples of state sharing between multiple viewmodels (WPF MVVM)

    I have a WPF/Entity Framework (4.0) project with many objects. I'd like to build the application so that that I can have object selection state shared across viewmodels. For Example: We have Cars, Drivers, Passengers, and Cargo classes. We also have UserControls for CarList, DriverList, etc. and editor windows for CarEditor, DriverEditor, etc. Furthermore, we have viewmodels for all of these (CarListViewModel, DriverListViewModel, CargoEditorViewModel, etc). This all composes a dockable interface where the user can have multiple object lists, editors, and viewers open. What I want is a concrete code example of how to wireup multiple viewmodels so that selecting a car in the CarList will cause that car to go live in the CarEditorView, but also be selected in any other view for which the context is valid (such as a DriverByCarView- or just DriverList if there is a filter predicate). There are a number of suggestions and discussions based on this question. The two methods that seem to dominate are: 3018307: Discusses state sharing by mentioning a messaging subsystem 1159035: Discusses state sharing by using an enclosing viewmodel Is one of these approaches better than the other? Does anyone have a concrete example of either/both of these methods in the form of a write-up or small code project?   • Multiple workstation setups using virtualization - best solution

    I'm looking to set up a server for my small startup. I have a few employees and would like to use my computer at home to provide them all with workstations. Each workstation should have the same collection of software installed but each user's workstation should be completely separate from the others. I need each user to be able to remotely log in to their workstation (using TeamViewer or something like it) and I want to be able to monitor their workflow from my screen. I suppose I need a virtualization solution. Can anybody recommend one with easy set up, I'm not a server administrator.

My current situation: I have am image, lets called it "bg.png" with the width about 2500px, and at the center of the background image has my logo. My website should target all size (from small 800 x 600 to 2400 x XXX) users. My problems How do I centralize the background image(bg.png), so that the logo always positioned in the centered(horizontally) of different size of monitors screen?

  • C++ Multi Monitor - Find All Visible/Open Windows

    I'm trying to find all the windows of ANY kind that are open (and have a taskbar 'button'). I have no problems finding the list processes/hWnd's, and then cycling through those, but how do I determine if a process/hwnd has a window open? (even if minimized). I've tried doing different combinations of the window parameters (such as WS_POPUP etc) but none of the parameters (or combinations of parameters) that I could find would give me all the open windows without some sort of false positives. As an example of a false positive was the fact that it gives me two 'windows' for google talk (even though one was open). Another false positive is considering the start menu as an open window. Any ideas? Solutions? I've been working on this for a while and its been driving me a bit insane. Note: I'm doing this for windows 7 (at this point). I'm not sure if there's any difference between how you would do this between XP and 7, but I thought it might be relevant.

  • Using JMX classes to notify on events over time

    I've been looking at JMX for monitoring application and system metrics (partially because MBeans can accessed by various tools such as JConsole). It would seem like the classes included with JMX would be useful for things like notification when metrics have exceeded thresholds. But I'm not sure they fit with the way I want to measure these over a specified time period. For example, let's say I want to notify an admin when the average CPU load is over 95% for more than 5 minutes. Is that something can be done with a GaugeMonitor? From the docs, it doesn't seem quite suited for this, and I'm wondering if instead I should write my own MBean with the necessary logic. A more relevant example is when the login times for users exceed 10s over a period of 5 mins. Slightly different would be the last 20 logins took more than 10s on average. Another case would be when a process crashes 4+ times in an hour. Or the request queue exceeds 15 for 5 mins. Are the JMX Monitor classes useful for this kind of thing?

    I have a VPS with multiple IP addresses allocated to it (we can use debian, centos or ubuntu). I can ssh into the server using any of the IP addresses. However, any ssh tunnel I set up always uses just one of the IP addresses as its origination IP. How do I configure the server so that when I ssh tunnel into IP1, its outbound IP is IP1. And when I ssh tunnel into IP2, its outbound IP is IP2?

  • CentOS Client - Unable to Establish iSCSI connection with multiple interfaces on the initiator

    So after upgrading to CentOS 6.2, I am seemingly no longer able to login into my iSCSI targets. I went a few weeks back and grabbed a snapshot of this system from before upgrading to 6.2. I spun up a new system from the snapshot, and reconfigured interface info and host keys, as well as iSCSI initiator and iscsi interface info to match new MACs. Changed nothing else. Then, I attempted to connect to my targets, and no issues at all. I cannot say that this was unexpected. I then went ahead and compared sysctl settings from both systems and there were differences after the upgrade, but nothing seemingly relevant to iSCSI or IP that could contribute to this. I also noticed that by default now two sessions per connection were enabled after the upgrade, but I changed it back to 1 session in /etc/iscsi/iscsid.conf. On the problematic system we can see that source interface is seemingly wrong, but even when I disable the 10.10.100 interface, problems persist. So, while this may be relevant, I could not validate it for certain. Needless to say, further research is necessary. Something is clearly different between releases. It is quite obscure and I doubt this will happen to anyone else any time soon. It turns out that setting iface.iscsi_ifacename and iface.hwaddress in the interfaces configuration file is not legal. When one manually adds an iscsi target, such as below, all settings from the interface config file are copied into the node config file, that gets created by the below command. Result is parameters iface.iscsi_ifacename and iface.hwaddress together in the same config file. These parameters are seemingly mutually exclusive, which does not exactly make sense, or there is perhaps an oversight in the codepath.
