• Howto use FB Graph to post a message on a feed (wall)

  I have created an app, and now i want to post a message on one of my friends wall with use of the new Graph API. Is this do-able? I am already using oAuth and the Graph-api to get a list of all my friends. The API at http://developers.facebook.com/docs/api tells me to cURL https://graph.facebook.com/[userid]/feed to read the feed, but it also tells me howto post a message: curl -F 'access_token=[...]' -F 'message=Hello, Arjun. I like this new API.' https://graph.facebook.com/arjun/feed Ofcourse this doesn't work! And I can't find out why.. • Salesforce - Update/Upsert custom object entry

  UPDATE: It's working as expected just needed to pass the correct Id, DUH!~ I have a custom object in salesforce, kind of like the comments section on a case for example. When you add a new comment it has a date/time stamp for that entry, I wanted to update the previous case comment date/time stamp when a new case comment is created. • NSURLConnection sendSynchronousRequest: fails when using POST

  I'm using a custom NSURLCache to intercept calls for certain web pages in order to modify them dynamically. Inside cachedResponseForRequest: I modify the request, then send it out using sendSynchronousRequest. This works very well until you attempt to submit a form. If there is post data it fails. If i remove the HTTPBody and set the request to GET, it succeeds. But i need it to work with POST. If i send the request asynchronously it also works which is why i can't figure out why the synchronous request fails. • ASP MVC2 model binding issue on POST

  So I'm looking at moving from MVC 1.0 to MVC 2.0 RTM. One of the conventions I'd like to start following is using the strongly-typed HTML helpers for generating controls like text boxes. However, it looks like it won't be an easy jump. I tried migrating my first form, replacing lines like this: <%= Html.TextBox("FirstName", Model.Data.FirstName, new {maxlength = 30}) %> ...for lines like this: <%= Html.TextBoxFor(x => x.Data.FirstName, new {maxlength = 30}) %> Previously, this would map into its appropriate view model on a POST, using the following method signature: [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Registration(AccountViewInfo viewInfo) Instead, it currently gets an empty object back. I believe the disconnect is in the fact that we pass the view model into a larger aggregate object that has some page metadata and other fun stuff along with it (hence x.Data.FirstName instead of x.FirstName). So my question is: what is the best way to use the strongly-typed helpers while still allowing the MVC framework to appropriately cast the form collection to my view-model as it does in the original line? Is there any way to do it without changing the aggregate type we pass to the view? Thanks!

• C# mvc2 client side form validation with xval, prevent post

  I'm using xval to use client side validation in my asp.net mvc2 webapplication. Despite the errors it's giving when i enter text in a nummeric field it still tries to post the form to the database. The incorrect values are being replaced by 0 and saved to the database. But instead it shouldn't even be possible to try and submit the form. Can anyone help me out here? I've set the attributes as below; [Property] [ShowColumnInCrud(true, label = "FromPriceInCents")] [Required] //[Range(1, Int32.MaxValue)] public virtual Int32 FromPriceInCents{ get; set; } The controller catching the request looks as below; I'm getting no errors in this part.   What I am trying to achieve: encapsulate a Login (or any) Form to be reused across site post to self when Login/validation fails, show original page with Validation Summary (some might argue to just post to Login Page and show Validation Summary there; if what I'm trying to achieve isn't possible, I will just go that route) when Login succeeds, redirect to /App/Home/Index also, want to: stick to PRG principles avoid ajax keep Login Form (UserController.Login()) as encapsulated as possible; avoid having to implement HomeController.Login() since the Login Form might appear elsewhere All but the redirect works. My approach thus far has been: Home/Index includes Login Form: <%Html.RenderAction("Login","User");%> User/Login ViewUserControl<UserLoginViewModel> includes: <%=Html.ValidationSummary("") % using(Html.BeginForm()){} includes hidden form field "userlogin"="1" public class UserController : BaseController { ... (I have a Register Form on the same page, using the same structure. Each form's validation summary only shows when that form is submitted.) Fails when: ModelState and User Credentials valid -- RedirectToAction<>() gives following error: "Child actions are not allowed to perform redirect actions." It seems like in the Classic ASP days, this would've been solved with Response.Buffer=True. Is there an equivalent setting or workaround now? • can't get jquery livequery to with an update panel

  I have some basic html inside an asp.net update panel. Using livequery, I set up autocomplete, blur and keydown events so that they all continue to be wired up after the update panel does a partial page load. When the page initially loads, all the events work fine but after the update panel does a partial page reload, none of the events wired up with livequery continue to work. Are there known issues with livequery and update panels? • Android/Java -- Post simple text to Facebook wall?

  Hello all, I'm trying to integrate posting to one's wall from within my app. I already have an area where the user can save his/her username and password (encrypted). I would like my program to recall the saved username and password, pass that to Facebook for authentication, and then allow the app to post simple text (maybe a link too) to the user's wall. That said, I've read everything on the developer pages at Facebook (the api looks completely foreign to me... I've never don't any type of web app development before... just desktop apps), and experimented with the Java libraries here: http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/User:Java but to be honest, I don't understand any of the various implementations. Some claim to be simple to use, but apparently they are all way above my head. I've even tried messing with the official Facebook Android SDK, but that uses a webview interface, and I can't pass in the username and password for easy authentication. Plus, I'm still clueless as to how to post to the wall even after correct authentication. Please help. Thanks. Oh, btw I already have a Facebook API key and Application ID.

If I understand correctly, I made the whole controller cache for 7200 seconds (2 hours). Dynamic Pages However, how does it work with dynamic pages? By dynamic, I mean where the user has to submit a form. As an example, I have a page with an email form. • Post a form from asp to asp.Net

  I have a classic asp application. I want to post a contest form from that page to an Asp.Net form. The reason is that I want to use a lot of logic i have built into an Asp.Net page for validation before entering into the database and I don't know asp very well. Not to mention asp.Net being more secure. What's the best way to accomplish this goal? My thoughts are as follows: My asp Page: <html> <body> <form action="/Contests/entry.aspx" method="post"> Name: <input type="text" name="fname" size="20" /> Last Name: <input type="text" name="lname" size="20" /> <input type="submit" value="Submit" /> </form> </body> </html> aspx page is running in a Virtual Directory and would handle anything posted to it. Is this possible, or does aspx prevent this kind of thing? I ( preferably ) don't want to create the form in aspx as my colleague wants to have control of the page and build the html himself and I don't want the hassle of constantly changing it. Are there caveats I need to consider? What roadblocks will I run into? How do I access the Posted Form Values? Request.Form?

• DataGridView in VB.net will not allow me to update

  I have a datagridview with a dataTable as the dataSource. The user can add new rows to the datadridview, but I dont display the primary key column (for obvious reasons) and set it to .visible = false. When I need to update the information in the datagridview to the database, I use the sqlClient.SqlCommandBuilder to then update the underlying datasource (the dataTable mentioned above). Now, because the hidden column is the primary key, I loop through the datagridview and programically add the required primary key field to each new row that does not already contain a primary key (user added rows). This works great 95% of the time... The problem is when the user somehow gives focus at some point (any point) to that bottom row on the datagridview, below their added rows, that is used to add new rows. The update command gives me an error stating that it cannot insert null into the primary key field, even though when checking all the values in every row, it is definitely NOT null for any of them. I have tried to trap for row.isNewRow (as the field never shows null) and deleting that row, but I get an error stating I can not delete an uncommitted row. If the focus is never given to that empty row beneath the existing rows and user added rows, the update works fine. What is going on?!

• CCLabelAtlas setString doesn't update label

  Hello! I have a CCLabelAtlas that I have on a layer to display the current score within my game...the problem that I am having with it is that it does not update when I use [scoreLabel setString:]. Here's how I have it laid out: In the header: @interface GameScene : CCLayer { ... CCLabelAtlas* scoreLabel; } And in the init: scoreLabel = [[CCLabelAtlas alloc] initWithString:@"0" charMapFile:@"scoreCharMap.png" itemWidth:6 itemHeight:8 startCharMap:'.']; [scoreLabel setPosition:ccp(105, 414)]; [self addChild:scoreLabel z: 6]; scoreCharMap.png is a custom map that includes ./0123456789 of my desired font. When the score is changed, I attempt to do this to get the label to update with the current score: NSString* str = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:@"%d", [[GameRunner sharedInstance] currentScore]]; [scoreLabel setString: str]; [str release]; [scoreLabel draw]; Problem is that it doesn't ever update - it just sits there and displays 0. I know for a fact due to breakpoints and debugging that setString is being called, and that the string that it should be displaying is correct - but it just doesn't update. Hard-coding the value and saying [scoreLabel setString:@"1234"] does nothing, either. What am I doing wrong here? I am using Cocos2d 0.99 - thanks in advance!

• Update panel and usercontrols

  I have two web user controls nested inside of an update panel. The events inside the user controls do not appear to trigger the panel. For testing, I have set the method the fires to sleep for 3 seconds, and added an update progress panel to the page. The update progress panel never comes up and the page reflashes as usual. The user controls work correctly and do what they need to do, but I would like to make them ajaxy and pretty. I am able to collect token with app key and App secret, authorize token with a web page and Access the final token. Now I have to post a status with Linkedin’s Share API. I know this should be possible so what am I doing wrong? The partial view only contains fields and not another BeginForm or anything like that. If I use a submit button it works ok but I can't use a submit button I need to use an anchor.

• Optimizing MySQL update query

I have two tables, first is ws3600, which holds columns (Date, PressureREL, TemperatureOUT, Dewpoint, ...). Then I have second table, called maxday, which holds columns like DatePressureREL, PressureREL, DateTemperatureOUT, TemperatureOUT,... Now as you can see from an example, I update each column, the question is, is there a faster way? I am asking this, because I am calling MAX twice, first to find the Date for that value and secondly to find the actual value. Now I know that I could write like that: SELECT Date, PressureREL FROM ws3600 WHERE PressureREL = (SELECT MAX(PressureREL) FROM ws3600 WHERE Date >= '" + Date + "') AND Date >= '" + Date + "' ORDER BY Date DESC LIMIT 1 That way I get the Date of the max and the max value at the same time and then update with those values the data in maxday table. But the problem of this solution is, that I have to execute many queries, which as I understand takes alot more time compared to executing one long mysql query because of overhead in sending each query to the server. If there is no better way, which solution beetwen this two should I choose. The first, which only takes one query but is very unoptimized or the second which is beter in terms of optimization, but needs alot more queries which probably means that the preformance gain is lost because of overhead in sending each query to the server?
