  I downloaded the new SDK and installed on my Windows 8 instance on my dedicated Hyper-V Server. When I start the emulator I receive an error. And after some searching and reading I realised that hyper-v is not supported. Is there any possibilities that I can run my Windows phone 8 emulator on a remote Hyper-V 2012 server? What I can see, it only uses the built-in hyper-v server in windows 8 as default. Can i change it somewhere? /Davy

My user should then be able to modify the command, or maybe ignore using the up arrow ... etc. I have been able to launch a terminal, but can't work out how to send commands. • Allow non-sudo group to control Upstart job

  I'm trying to set up an Upstart job to run on system startup, and that can also be started/stopped by members of a group other than sudo. With a previous version, I usedupdate-rc.d and scripts stored in /etc/init.d/ to get this working by adding %Group ALL = NOPASSWD: /etc/init.d/scriptname to my sudoers file, but I can't seem to get an equivalent working for Upstart. I tried adding %Group ALL = NOPASSWD: /sbin/initctl start jobname to the sudoers file, but trying to run the command start jobname produces this error: start: Rejected send message, 1 matched rules; type="method_call", sender=":1.21" (uid=1000 pid=5148 comm="start jobname " interface="com.ubuntu.Upstart0_6.Job" member="Start" error name="(unset)" requested_reply="0" destination="com.ubuntu.Upstart" (uid=0 pid=1 comm="/sbin/init") As near as I can tell, that's a complaint about how my user account isn't given the power to send 'Start' messages in the D-Bus config file for Upstart. I haven't been able to actually find any information on how to edit that file to give a group permission to access a specific service--does such an option exist? Is there a way to edit the Sudoers file so I can run the job without editing the config file? Am I better off just sticking with the previous version?

  On my registration form i want to show a modal (of twitter-bootstrap) when the user has a successfull signup to tell him to check his email so i put "remote: true" on my form and render a .js.erb wich shows the modal, on my controller. BUT, in case of inputs errors i need to render the page as html to refresh de form showing those errors. Can I call the controller from the remote form as JS but render as html?   I would like to be able to dynamically progress the score, and affect the volume levels of separate channels within the music. How could I do this? From my experience with mod music (olden days Amiga music, Mod Tracker, Scream Tracker, Fast Tracker II, Impulse Tracker etc etc), I believe this is the best way to tackle the problem, to allow the music to move from one loop to another, without anything mixed down. • Windows Xp, Svchost.exe connecting to different ips with remote port 445

  Im using Windows Xp professional Sp2 Whenever i start my windows, svchost.exe starts connecting to all the possible ips on lan like from 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.200 The local port ranges from 1000-1099 and the remote port being 445. After its done with the local ips, it starts connecting to other random ips. I tried blocking connections to the port 445 using the local security polices but it didn't work Is there any possible way i could prevent svchost from connecting to these ips without involving any firewall installed ? since my pc slows down due to the load I'd be thankful for any advices

• How can I design a custom control in Javascript (possibly using jQuery)

  I'd like to create a custom control in javascript. The goal is to create a building block that has methods, properties and events and render into a div. An example of one such control would be a calendar. It would render into a div, it would have properties that would define how it's displayed and what date is selected or highlighted, it would have methods to change the current month or to select some date and it would raise events when a day is clicked or the current month is changed by a user input. I can think of lots of way to implement this and I'm not sure what is the best way. I seem to remember that it's a bad thing to augment a DOM elements with properties and method, so I ruled that out. A jQuery plugin seems like a good idea, however I'm not sure if it's appropriate to create a plugin for each and every method my control would have so I could then use it like : $('#control').method1(); $('#control').method2(); And if I do use jQuery, where do I store the private data of my control? Another idea I got was to create a new kind of object that would have a reference to a div in which it could render it's elements. So what is the prefered way to do this. If I can I would like to do this as a jQuery plugin, but I'd need guidlines on how to create methods and where to store private data. I've loked at Plugins/Authoring on jQuery website and it did not helped that much in this regard.

• No event is firing when placing a custom data bound control in DataRepeater control in Windows forms

  Hi, Custom events in a custom data bound control are not firing in DataRepeater control. When I debug it I found that the DataRepeater Control recreates the control using Activator.CreateInstance and Copies the Properties and Events. In my case copying events doesn't copy the custom events that I hooked in.   Over the weekend I worked a little more on my ACS2 sample. Instead of writing it all down, I decided to quickly record four short videos that cover the relevant features and code. This includes driving the sign in UI via JavaScript (thanks Matias) as well as the registration logic I wrote about here. watch Part 2 – SOAP Service and Client The sample app also exposes a WCF SOAP service. This video shows how to wire up the service to ACS and hows how to create a client that first requests a token from an IdP and then sends this token to ACS. watch Part 3 – REST Service and Client This part shows how to set up a WCF REST service that consumes SWT tokens from ACS. Unfortunately there is currently no standard WIF plumbing for REST. For the service integration I had to combine a lot of code from different sources (kzu, zulfiq) as well as the WIF SDK and OAuth CTPs together. The Silverlight Client shows ho to sign in to the application using a registered identity provider (including web identities) and using the resulting SWT token to call our REST service. • Can't control connection bit rate using iwconfig with Atheros TL-WN821N (AR7010)

  I'm trying to reduce the connection bit rate on my Atheros TP-Link TL-WN821N v3 usb wifi adapter due to frequent instability issues (reported connection speed goes down to 1Mb/s and I have to physically reconnect the adapter to regain a connection). I know this is a common problem with this device, and I have tried everything I can think of to fix it, including using drivers from linux-backports; compiling and installing a custom firmware (following instructions on https://wiki.debian.org/ath9k_htc#fw-free) and (as a last resort) using ndiswrapper. When using ndiswrapper, the wifi adapter is stable and operates in g mode at 54Mb/s (whilst when using the default ath9k_htc module, the adapter connects in n mode and the bit rate fluctuates constantly). Unfortunately, with this setup I have to run my processor using only one core, since using SMP with ndiswrapper causes a kernel oops on my system. So I want to lock my bit rate to 54Mb/s (or less, if need be) for connection stability, using the ath9k_htc module. I've tried 'sudo iwconfig wlan0 rate 54M'; the command runs with no error but when I check the bit rate with 'sudo iwlist wlan0 bitrate' the command returns: wlan0 unknown bit-rate information. Current Bit Rate:78 Mb/s Any ideas? Here's some info (hopefully relevant) on my setup: Xubuntu (12.04.3) 64bit (kernel 3.2.0-55.85-generic) using Network Manager. • mod hosts file, connect to joomla on remote server

  I've just acquired an account on a remote server with Joomla installed. I was instructed to add xxx.xx.xxx.xx name.ca www.name.ca to the hosts file which I found in /private/etc/ . I had to su to my admin account and use sudo to mod file and found that hosts is also found in /etc/ though it is apparently the same file. I attempted to flush the the DNS cache using dscacheutil -flushcache and then launched Safari and entered address xxx.xx.xxx.xx/administrator but got a 404 error. Joomla was set up for me by the server owner and accessed from his Windows laptop to demonstrate so I know it should work but no go here. Can anyone suggest what the problem might be?

  My client is RDP 6.1 (On Windows XP SP3) and Server is Windows Server 2003. I have installed an SSL certificate on server for RDP. In the RDP settings (General tab), the Encryption method is set to SSL/TLS 1.0 and Encryption level is set to "Client Compatible". I have following questions In this case is it guaranteed that all communication is encrypted even when I remote login to the server? I mean pwd is encrypted Does RDP always use some kind of encryption even if there is no SSL certificate installed on the server? In this case I do not see security lock in the connection bar. When I set encryption level to "High" then I see security lock. I do believe that communication is both cases will be encrypted. Is it true? Please reply to my questions Thanks in advance Kumar

I always check "Upload files on run", in the project configuration. But when I click on run Netbeans selects all files by default (I modified only some). The file checkboxes cannot be disabled at once and you have to do this one by one (imagine you have 5000 files...). That's annoying. Do you know any solution? thank you
