• Is there a way to initialize ImageKit's IKSaveOptions to default to TIFF with LZW compression?

  I'm using Mac OS X 10.6 SDK ImageKit's IKSaveOptions to add the file format accessory to an NSSavePanel using: - (id)initWithImageProperties:(NSDictionary *)imageProperties imageUTType:(NSString *)imageUTType; and - (void)addSaveOptionsAccessoryViewToSavePanel:(NSSavePanel *)savePanel; I have tried creating an NSDictionary to specify Compression = 5, but I cannot seem to get the IKSaveOptions to show Format:TIFF, Compression:LZW when the NSSavePanel first appears. I've also tried saving the returned imageProperties dictionary and the userSelection dictionary, and then tried feeding that back in for the next time, but the NSSavePanel always defaults to Format:TIFF with Compression:None. Does anyone know how to customize the default format/compression that shows up in the accessory view? I would like to default the save options to TIFF/LZW and furthermore would like to restore the user's last file format choice for next time. I am able to control the file format using the imageUTType (e.g. kUTTypeJPEG, kUTTypePNG, kUTTypeTIFF, etc) but I am still unable to set the initial compression option for TIFF or JPEG formats. • Who does non-decimal bignums with floating radix point?

  Nice as the Tcl libraries math::bignum and math::bigfloat are, the middle ground between the two needs to be addressed. Namely, bignums which are in different radices and have a radix point. At present math::bignum only handles integers (afaict) and math::bigfloat won't let you specify different radices to math::bigfloat::fromstr (ditto). Does anyone know of a library, for any of the major scripting languages (e.g. Tcl, Perl, Python, Ruby, Lua) or less major ones (newLISP for example), which implements bignums in different radices with handling for radix point?

  I'm working with websites written in PHP, along with many other programmers, and sometimes I have to deal with really awful code. Indentation totally messed up, curly braces in the wrong places, terrible whitespace use, it really hurts my eyes and actually makes my work harder and take longer. Is there a tool where you can specify your coding style and then it applies it to files? I'm sure there must be such functions in different IDEs, but I need an independent tool as I code with simple notepads like Notepad++ or the like. ( if it's such a function in Notepad++, I didn't see it )

  Hi, I installed cedet successfully today and got most of it working; thanks to Alex Ott's Gentle Introduction to Cedet. However i am having a problem When I give the exact path relative to the current file i am working on then auto-completion is working fine. #include "../../opensource/inc/lldp_port.h" void test_func() { lldp_port port; port.blah //here auto-completion worked fine } However i cannot specify the full path all the time( we have eclipse at office and it generates makefiles for us ) #include "lldp_port.h" void test_func() { lldp_port port; port. //here auto-completion does not work :( } What should i do to solve this?

• Custom Display Form with Custom Workflow button

  I have created a new custom list form that will show 4 fields on the page from a Custom List called "Shipment". I have added Form Action button that I would like to run a custom action that is set inside of a Workflow. Currently, the form displays the fields for "Manifest Number", "Pickup Location", "Delivery Location", & "Scheduled Pickup Time". When the user clicks the Form Action button, what I want the Workflow to do is go to the ID field of the displayed content in the Form and change the value of the "Picked Up" column from No to Yes. The problem I am having is passing the ID of the displayed information from the Form to the Workflow as a variable. I can get the "Picked Up" column to update if I specify the value in the "Update List Item" window under the "Find the List Item" section, but I cannot figure out how to do this dynamically from the Form

• Does the specific signed integer matter when implementing compareTo in a Comparable <Type> class?

  When implementing compareTo(), does the degree of "difference" need to be taken into account? For instance, if I have 3 objects, C1, C2, and C3, such that C1 < C2 < C3. Should C1.compareTo(C2) return an integer that is less than C2.compareTo(C3)? The documentation for the Comparable interface doesn't seem to specify one way or another, so I'm guessing the degree doesn't matter, but it would be nice to know if there is some advantage returning a specific number (for example, improving TreeSet sort speed or something). http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/lang/Comparable.html#compareTo(T)

• Unable to send email on production server with ASP.NET MVC

  I have a simple ASP.NET MVC application with a contact page. In my development machine (local) I can send successfully emails (I specify host and credentials), but on the production server this doesn't work and I get this error: System.Net.Mail.SmtpFailedRecipientException: Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable or not local at System.Net.Mail.SmtpTransport.SendMail... The server is in my LAN (the mail server too). I tried with multiple accounts but I have errors every time. Credentials for the account are provided at runtime with smtp.Credentials = new NetworkCredential("username", "password"); Any idea?   Hi, I have a table called Users in my database. Let's assume that User has only 3 properties int ID; string? Name; string Login; If user doesn't specify his name then Login is displayed. Otherwise Name is displayed. I wan't to get list of all users sorted by what is displayed. So if user specified Name, it is taken into consideration while sorting, otherwise his position on the list should be determined by Login. Eventually whole list should be ordered alphabetically. I hope I made myself clear... Is that possible to do in HQL?

• Modifying setup file with PHP

  I have an application that needs branding when downloaded in certain continents. When installed in North America, for instance, the application, when run, displays a different logo and company name than in Europe. The setup file is provided through a PHP script. Presently there is a Inno Setup executable for Windows and a DMG for Mac OS X. I have seen that when downloading Google Chrome, you can specify whether or not it should send usage statistics. A brief look at the JavaScript that controls it reveals that this is simply sent back to the server with &usagestats=0 or &usagestats=1. How would I go about influencing the installation based upon settings specified via the PHP download page?

• Mvc relative path using virtual directory..help!

  When i drag and drop my image/script/css file into my view, relative path will automatically use to refer on the files. example: <link href="../../Content/style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <script src="../../Scripts/jquery-min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <img src="../../Images/logo.jpg" /> It is working fine when i host it on my root directory, but if i'm using virtual directory then only my css file able to refer correctly, the rest will return 404...as it will refer to http://{root}/Images/logo.jpg rather than http://{root}/{virtual directory}/Images/logo.jpg But why css file is working? and how to specify the relative path correctly for both root & virtual directory cases?

• TeamCity for continuous integration with Visual Studio 2010 solutions/projects

  I am running TeamCity build 5.1.1 on a virtual machine that also hosts our SVN environment. A team I support has recently made the move from Visual Studio 2008/Silverlight 3.0 to Visual Studio 2010/Silverlight 4.0 and when investigating how to do continuous integration with Visual Studio 2010 solutions/projects, it is not as cut and dried as it appeared to be in Visual Studio 2008. Previously I was using Web Deployment Projects and targeting different Release Configurations in TeamCity, which would use the Web Deployment Project to package/deploy the code to our various environments. However when checking out the new Publish ability in Visual Studio 2010 I cannot find a way to specify which location to deploy to. Does everything need to be done in MSBuild now (in the solution file or maybe the Web project file?). If anyone has any examples of how they've done Continuous Integration using TeamCity and Visual Studio 2010, it would be greatly appreciated as I am coming up blank at the moment.

  This question was inspired by this answer to another question, indicating that you can remove every occurrence of an element from a list using a function defined as: removeall = filter . (/=) Working it out with pencil and paper from the types of filter, (/=) and (.), the function has a type of removeall :: (Eq a) => a -> [a] -> [a] which is exactly what you'd expect based on its contract. However, with GHCi 6.6, I get gchi> :t removeall removeall :: Integer -> [Integer] -> [Integer] unless I specify the type explicitly (in which case it works fine). Why is Haskell inferring such a specific type for the function?

  I want to trap a signal send from Script-A.sh to Script-B.sh so in Script-A.sh i use the command (Send SIGINT to Script-B.sh) kill -2 $PID_Script-B.sh And in Script-B.sh i catch the signal and call function Clean trap 'Clean' 2 It does not work, instead the Script-B.sh is killed right away without performing the Clean !! What i notice also is that if i want to send SIGINT from terminal to any script that traps it, a ctrl-c will be catched correctly, but not if i specify the signal via the command kill -2 $pid_of_script Any idea about the difference between the two method to send the SIGINT (ctrl-c VS kill -2 $pid_of_script), and how i can send a SIGINT from a script to another ? • How to make Excel strip ALL quotes from CSV text fields

  When importing a CSV file into Excel, it only strips the double-quotes from the FIRST field on the line, but leaves them on all other fields. How can I force Excel to strip the quotes from ALL strings? For instance, I have a CSV file: "text1", "text2", "numeric1", "numeric 2" "abc", "def", 123, 456 "abc", "def", 123, 456 "abc", "def", 123, 456 "abc", "def", 123, 456 I import it into Excel using Data Import External Data Import Data. I specify that the fields are delimited by commas, and that the text delimiter is the double-quote character. Both the data preview and the actual Excel spreadsheet columns only strip the double-quotes from the first text field. All other text fields still have quotes around them. What's really strange is that Access is able to import this data correctly (i.e. strips quotes from every text field. Note that this is NOT a matter of internal commas or quotes or escape characters. This happens in Excel 2003 and Excel 2007.

And how can i specify where to redirect after logging in? If i add HttpResponseRedirect('/profile/') After login line - nothing happens. The script never ends up there. Alan.

  I have a python source distribution, and it depends on some other modules that I've also made. The directory tree looks like this. I've written a setup.py file for one of those modules (pydirac225, for those of you who are following along at home), and I want to have that setup.py called from the main setup.py? Another module dependency (pysoundtouch14) has a setup.py file, but the contents of it are basically pasted into the main setup.py script. It seems more modular to allow each of these components to specify how they are set up, and allow the main setup file to invoke their setup scripts individually. Is there a standard way to deal with this issue? To recap: I have some code that depends on other modules: should the other module's setup code go in the main setup.py, or is there a way to have my code's setup.py invoke their setup.py files?

• Cannot change the target CPU to x86 Or x64 in Visual Studio 2005

  I am trying to build a website application and specify the target CPU as x86 instead of Any CPU. The only choices I have in Configuration Manager under the "Active solution platform:" drop-down list are: "Any CPU", "Edit..", and "New...". In the "Project Contexts" portion of the "Configuration Manager" window, it lists 3 columns: "Project", "Configuration" and "Platform". Under the "Platform" column, my only choice is ".Net". when the "Active solution configuration" is set to, "Debug". When the, ""Active solution configuration" is set to "Release", then I can choose either, ".Net" or "Any CPU" under the "Platform" column. I am using Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition. This website was previously built using Visual Studio .NET and was recently upgraded using the Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition Upgrade Wizard. I need to target x86 specifically because the are components used in the project that are only x86 compatible.

  I have read two recent posts that discuss Depends and Imports but I have four lingering, related questions: Suppose I want two packages to also be available to the end-user when they load in my package. Is there a good reason not to use Depends in this context? (The point here is to load all three packages via a command that loads just the one package.) Is it okay to specify a package in both the Depends and Imports fields? If a package is listed in Depends, is there a point to also listing it in Imports? Or are the benefits of Imports already negated by using Depends? [Added Question] Is the following correct? A package should be listed in the Imports field of the DESCRIPTION file if and only if the package is imported (in whole or in part) in the NAMESPACE file. Thanks much! David

  I have written an HTML Application (hta file) and am wondering if there is a way to embed an icon file into the hta file itself. I have seen html emails that include embedded graphic files, is there any way to do this with html applications and icons? HTA files have an HTA:APPLICATION tag that allows you to specify an icon, but I want to have only a single file for download. I don't want to have an external icon file. Is this possible? • C# MySQL Lost Connection

  Hi. I have C# application and I'm using MySQL database. Everything seems to be fine except one thing. Our computer network is little bit unstable. When I'm trying to execute query and the computer simultaneously loses connection to the mysql server (I'm simulating this situation by unplugging the network cable from computer which is mysql server), the program is trying to do something for long time (tens seconds). I would like to specify something like timeout which ends the query by exception or something similar. I tried to add timeout parameters to connection string but with no effect (I've used ConnectionTimeout and DefaultCommandTimeout). Is there any other way to identify lost connection after few seconds? Thank you Adam P.S. Sorry for my english, I'm not native speaker.

• Creating a new nested resource

  I'm working on a basic garden logging application which consists of gardens, plants and planted plants. Each user has one or many gardens, plants are master definitions, and a planted plant can be thought of as an instance of a plant in a specific user's garden. In my routes.rb file I have the following: map.resources :gardens do |gardens| gardens.resources :planted_plants, :has_many => :plant_log_entries, :collection => { :filter => :post, :choose_garden => :post} gardens.resources :garden_log_entries end map.resources :plants This makes sense to me when retrieving a list of planted_plants in a user's garden, but I'd like to create a planted_plant record from the index of plant. The problem is, a user can have multiple gardens. How can I create a new form for a planted_plant that allows the user to specify which garden should be used? The current route requires a garden_id - which makes sense for retrieval, but I'd like to supply that as a parameter for creation. Thanks in advance for any help!
