  • User Profile objects are empty, even user logged-in properly?

    I use asp:Login control, user can login properly, but while checking user Profile information within LoggedIn event of Login control, all of the fields in the Profile objects are empty. Also, User.Identity.IsAuthenticated always returns false. But, all of these issue solved while navigating to another page. Why User.Identity.IsAuthenticated returns false, even user logged-in properly? And, is there any way to get user's profile information within LoggedIn event of Login control?

  • Query Membership using Linq

    Hi, I am not a experienced programmer, I need to query the Membership User Collection provided in asp.net mvc. I want the members be able to add other members as friends, I have created a added friend table. Id, MemberId, Friend_MemberId, DateAdded I want to display a list of Members which are not added to this list (like filter already existing friends), but unable to query using linq, can anyone suggest a way, links, articles, would it be better to extend memebership class.

When we then click on one of the documents in the list, then press back in the browser, we get a page expired error. Is it possible to change the action of the check box to trigger a get with a parameter?

    where used on http://localhost:8692/Contacts/Default.aspx Response.Redirect("http://www.google.com") redirects to http://localhost:8692/Contacts/http%3a%2f%2fwww.google.com The problem just appeared once I upgraded to .Net 4 Edit: Response.Redirect("~/Contacts/MemberDetails.aspx?Id=3") goes to http://localhost:8692/Contacts/%2fContacts%2fMemberDetails.aspx%3fId%3d1 I found one mention of this on the web but no solution and it was for the release candidate http://forums.asp.net/t/1527814.aspx

  • Pass values from MasterPage UserControl to child ASPX Page

    Hi, Senario: Masterpage with a UserControl and a child ASPX page In the past when using this senario I've used an Interface as a way to pass a value from the UserControl (embedded in a master page) to the masterpage code behind then consume that value in the child aspx page. My question is now that asp.net 4 have arrived is this still a good way to achieve this or is there another or perhaps better way to do it? I've read somewhere that perhaps "delegates" is perhaps another route to take. Any help much appreciated Lk

    I have a page that uses routing and it works fine under Visual web developer. But when I deployed to IIS 7. The page that uses routing doesn't seem to recognize the user is logged in. I think I read about this but had not seen it until now. Hope there is a fix! Environment deployed too is ASP.NET 3.5 SP1, SQL SERVER 2008, and IIS 7 integrated. Thanks.

    In Asp.net MVC one is encouraged to derive custom ActionResults, however should these classes handle other tasks unrelated to views, perhaps a EmailActionResult would render a view then send an email. What is best practice for the class ActionResult, is it only view specific? I want to keep things DRY too. Should the sending of the email be factored into a service class? perhaps using a filter would work. what are your thoughts?

This pager needs access to a .js file that needs to be included exactly once, regardless of how many instances of the pager control are present on the parent page. I've tried to use Page.ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptInclude, but it had no effect (I assume because the code nugget was evaluated too late to impact the head control).     For a web application I switched from using ASP.NET Membership to using my own log in system which just does something like this to mark a user as logged in: Session["UserId"] = User.Id Is it possible to store the user id in the ASPXAUTH cookie, piggybacking on its encryption, instead of using the standard session? The goal is for the logged in state to last longer than a session and survive both browser and server restarts.

I would really prefer to use a generic. The workaround that I have come up with is to change the model type to be an object.   • DavCInt User Agent and Options Verb Requests

    We are getting quite a few errors in our logs where the user agent is DavCInt and verb is OPTIONS. Does anyone know who/what might be making this type of request? We are using ASP.NET MVC and all of our controller actions are decorated with HttpGet or HttpPost as appropriate so a controller supporting the request is of course not found. I know I can deny verbs in the web.config but I am looking for any insight before I do so.
