  • What is a good way to sync code files between computer?

    I have a need to code from two computers during the week. What is the best way to sync the two computers (mac)? I've started using source control, like SVN. It works pretty good, except sometimes I check in code that I want to sync but they don't compile and it interferes with other people on the team working on the same project. I don't want to use branch. It wouldn't make sense to branch every night when I head home from office.

  • Tool used to retrieve code metrics in xUnit Test Patterns?

    I'm reading xUnit Test Patterns by Gerard Meszaros. On one of the pages he refers to some software metrics: While the need to wrap lines to keep them at 65 characters makes this code look even longer than it really is, it is still unnecessarily long. It contains 25 executable statements including initialized declarations, 6 lines of control statements, 4 in-line comments, and 2 lines to declare the test method—giving a total of 37 lines of unwrapped source code. Short of counting the statements to find these metrics, does anybody have any idea if he used a particular tool to calculate the metrics? (If you have any suggestions for tools that will count similar metrics, I'm looking for one that works on Java, Javascript and C++) Thanks!

    I utilize a (nested) plist to populate UITableViews where users can select entries at the deepest levels and set a checkmark (or not). I want to save these selections in a same structured list where at the deepest level the NSArray contains bool values instead the text strings that are displayed in the UITableView. So how can i build from a hierarchy like the following: Root - Item 0 (Dictionary) - Group (Dictionary) - Items (NSArray) - Item 0: @"Please check me" (String) a hierarchy like this? Root - Item 0 (Dictionary) - Group (Dictionary) - Items (NSArray) - Item 0: 0 (NSNumber) // NSNumber for bool values I'm trying to create a deep mutable copy and replace the items at the deepest levels but have somehow the feeling that this can be done easier.     If i pass a char * into a function. I want to then take that char * convert it to a std::string and once I get my result convert it back to char * from a std::string to show the result. I don't know how to do this for conversion ( I am not talking const char * but just char *) I am not sure how to manipulate the value of the pointer I send in. so steps i need to do take in a char * convert it into a string. take the result of that string and put it back in the form of a char * return the result such that the value should be available outside the function and not get destroyed. If possible can i see how it could be done via reference vs a pointer (whose address I pass in by value however I can still modify the value that pointer is pointing to. so even though the copy of the pointer address in the function gets destroyed i still see the changed value outside. thanks!

  • How does one suppress a 404 status code in a page?

    I've got a WordPress site that includes pages pulled from a different database. The problem is that these other pages return a 404 status code. (The WordPress posts/pages are fine.) The 404'ed pages display fine, and I removed the "Page not Found" text from the title tag in WordPress. But Googlebot and W3C see the 404 header. So: wow does one tell Apache to suppress a 404 status? And will Apache override WordPress's 404 header? Does that make sense? What other info and things should I be looking at? Can I suppress the status code in .htaccess so I don't change WP core files?

    We're uploading files to a temporary folder in a bucket. After that, we're trying to copy the uploaded files to its actual folder then delete the files in the temporary folder. It doesn't timeout when working with a single file. We're using the ThreeSharp API.   • Getting a PasteScript error when I try to serve an existing Pylons app.

    I'm trying to serve an existing Python 2.5 Pylons application on OS X Snow Leopard.     I have a table that stores a bunch of diagnosis for a single plan. When the users create a new plan I need to copy over all existing diagnosis's as well. I had thought to try the below but this is obviously not correct. I am guessing that I will need to loop through my oldDiagnosis part, but how? Thanks!   • Have visual studio copy x64 DLL or x86 DLL when building a C# project

    We're building a C# app that uses an external DLL for Sqlite.NET. This is a .NET dll but it embeds a C dll inside it and so it comes in x86 and x64 flavours. We add a reference to the x86 version in the project so when we build and run on x86 it's fine. Visual studio copies the dll to the bin folder and runs. On x64 it still copies the x86 version of course and then when it runs it fails to load it. We get round this by temporarily setting our project to be x86 only, but ideally we'd like to tell visual studio to copy the correct version depending on which flavour of machine it is. Any ideas how?

    Hi, i'm new to the realm to working with Files in .NET I'm creating a WPF application in VB.NET with the 3.5 Framework. (If you provide an example in C#, that's perfectly fine.) In my project I have a Template for an MS Access database. My desired behavior is that when the users clicks File--New, they can create a new copy of this template, give it a filename, and save it to their local directory. The database already has the tables and some starting data needed to interface with my application (a user-friendly data editor) I'm thinking the approach is to include this "template.accdb" file as a resource in the project, and write it to a file somehow at runtime? Any guidance will be very, very appreciated. Thanks!

  • HTA value update freezes when file copy starts

    Hi everyone, I have a one-to-many relationship between Part and Params (a "Part" has many "Params). I'm trying to do something naive like this: Part sourcePart = em.find(Part.class, partIdSource); Part destPart = em.find(Part.class, partIdDest); Collection<Param> paramListSource = sourcePart.getParamList(); destPart.setParamList(paramListSource); Basically I want to copy all the parameters from sourcePart to destPart. Hopefully the persistence provider will automatically set the right foreign keys in the Param table/entity. The above code will obviously not work. Is there any easy way of doing this, or do I have to do create a new collection, then add each Param (creating new Param, setting attributes, etc) ?

    hopefully the question doesn't sound stupid, but there are lots of examples out there of achieving certain things in javascript/dom using jQuery. Using jQuery is not always an option (or even a want) which can make understanding the examples of javascript solutions written in jQuery hard. Is there an easy way to convert jQuery code to regular javascript?   • Using 'Copy as cURL' from Chrome in windows command line

    So, Google Chrome as this great 'copy as cURL' option under 'Network' of the Chrome DevTools. Works great in command lines for linux but not in windows. Apparently it has something to do with the single quotes as the error I get is protocol 'http not supported In other words its reading that single quote. Is there a simple way to make this formatable for windows? I tried replacing all the single quotes with double quotes but then nothing happens at all.   • How can I programmatically copy all of the style attributes from one DOM element to another

    I have a page with two frames, and I need to (via javascript) copy an element and all of its nested elements (it's a ul/li tree) and most importantly it's style from one frame to the other. I get all the content via assigning innerhtml, and I am able to position the new element in the second frame with dest.style.left and dest.style.top and it works. But I'm trying to get all the style information and nothing's happening. I'm using getComputedStyle to get the final style for each source element as I loop through each node then and assigning them to the same position in the destination nodelist and nothing happens to visually change the style. What am I missing?

I don't see any problem. Any ideas ? Unrolling the copy and performing the explicit loop over the columns works in both compilers. Note that with allocatable instead of pointer I have no problems. The behavior is the same if the statement is either inside a module or not. I confirm the same behavior on Linux using ifort (IFORT) 12.1.3 20120130.
