  I'm attempting to create a form which will allow me to upload a file.. • Showing the right form of total I want in a pivot table

  I have a pivot table that shows how many condoms have been handed out and on how many distinct occasions. So the value in the pivot table is a number between 1 and 30 (no. of condoms handed out at one specific occasion) and then I can see – for each month – how many times that happened. For example, three times, two condoms were given out, four times, one condom was given out, et cetera. The total is set on Count and it shows the total of how many times condoms have been given out. However, in the total I want it to show the sum of all the condoms that been given out each month – is it possible to change this somehow?

• Inline form fields with labels placed on top

  I can't believe I'm having to ask this, but I'm at my wit's end. I'm trying to display 2 form fields inline, but with the label for each field on the top. In ascii art: Label 1 Label 2 --------- --------- | | | | --------- --------- Should be pretty simple. <label for=foo>Label 1</label> <input type=text name=foo id=foo /> <label for=bar>Label 2</label> <input type=text name=bar id=bar /> This will get me: --------- --------- Label 1 | | Label 2 | | --------- --------- To get the labels on top of the boxes, I add display=block: <label for=foo style="display:block">Label 1</label> <input type=text name=foo id=foo /> <label for=bar style="display:block">Label 2</label> <input type=text name=bar id=bar /> After I do this, the labels are where I want them, but the form fields are no longer inline: Label 1 --------- | | --------- Label 2 --------- | | --------- I've been unable to find a way to wrap my html so the fields display inline. • Query distinct list of choices for Django form with App Engine Datastore

  I've been trying to figure this out for hours across a couple of days, and can not get it to work. I've been everywhere. I'll continue trying to figure it out, but was hoping for a quicker solution. I'm using App Engine datastore + Django. Using a query in a view and custom forms, I was able to get a list to the form but then I was not able to post. I have been trying to figure out how to dynamically add the choices as part of the Django form... I've tried various ways with no success. Help! Below are the two models. I'd like to get a distinct list of address_id to show in the location field in InfoForm. • form target iframe not working in IE7- in facebook fan tab

  This issue is similar to the one discussed in this thread, only mine is in a Facebook fan page tab (FBML/FBJS). The fix described in the referenced question works fine outside of Facebook, but for whatever reason I can't get it to work in the posted FBJS. Even by manually setting the name (document.getElementbyId('testframe').setName('testframe') fails to work the way it would outside of Facebook. Has anyone run into this same issue, and if so, is there any way around it? Thank you.

• Ruby on Rails - pass variable to nested form

  I am trying to build a multilingual site using Rails, but I can't figure out how to pass variable to nested form. Right now I am creating nested form like this. @languages.each do @article.article_locale.build(:language_id => language.id) end But i would like to pass value of language to it so i can distinguish fields. Something like this. @languages.each do |language| @language = language @article.article_locale.build(:language_id => language.id) end However, I always end up with language of the last loop iteration. Any way to pass this variable? -- edit -- In the end, since I've got no answer I have solved this problem so it, at least, works as it should. Following code is my partial solution. In model: def self.languages Language.all end def self.language_name language = [] self.languages.each_with_index do |lang, i| language[i] = lang.longname end return language end In Controller: def new @article = Article.new Article.languages.each do |language| @article.article_locale.build(:language_id => language.id) end end In HAML View: -count = 0 -f.fields_for :article_locale do |al| %h3= Article.language_name[count] -count+=1 -field_set_tag do %p =al.label :name, t(:name) =al.text_field :name %p =al.label :description, t(:description) =al.text_area :description =al.hidden_field :language_id It's not the most elegant solution I suppose, but it works. • C#: HTTPWebResponse using application/x-www-form-urlencoded

  So I sent an HTTPWebRequest using application/x-www-form-urlencoded as my content type. I assume that this means the reponse will be returned in a similar type? (EDIT: Have now been told this isn't the case) My question is this. How do I access the different key/value pairs returned in the response. My code so far looks like this. I can of course read the string but surely there is a better way to access the data other than ripping the string apart. • Selecting Date Range on a PHP form and displaying results from MySQL database

  This may be something simple but I cant understand why this wouldn't work.. I have a php form where you can select a date range from drop downs. I've given the field names day, month year, and day1, month1, year1. When clicking submit it takes you to a second php form. • JQuery modal box form validation

  Hi, I was using a view to create an object for my specific project, but now I have to adapt this to another requirements, such as the creation of this object must be integrated in the creation of another one. The thing is, that this object must be created before starting to create the other one, and the way of doing it will be poping up a modal dialog box with JQuery with the form to create it. I've got to adapt the creation and it works fine, except for the validation messages. It is made in the controller like : if (not.NotName.Trim().Length == 0) { ModelState.AddModelError("NotName", "Name is required"); } if (_notification.checkIfExists(not.NotName, not.NotRecID)) { ModelState.AddModelError("NotName", "Notification already exists"); } And before with a normal view it worked fine, but now I'm not able to get the validation messages as I did. How can you get this validation messages thrown by the controller in the Modal Box? Because now when I made a mistake on purpose in the form in order to get the error it doesn't appear. I've seen the error is displayed in the site, because I've seen it on firebug, but it doesn't appear in my model box. How can I retrieve this errors? Do you know any tutorial that could help me with this? Thank you

• Form.Show() is not showing it's child controls

  I have a form, frmPleaseWait, that has a MarqueeProgressBar and a Label that I want to use when the UI is loading the data in a poorly structured app we have. The problem is that frmPleaseWait.Show() shows the form but not the controls in it. It is just a white rectangle. Now frmPleaseWait.ShowDialog() shows the child controls but doesn't let the UI load it's data. What am I missing? Below is a code snippet from where I am trying this. • How to duplicate form control's checkbox in Excel 2007 with "TRUE" "FALSE" text

  For example I made check box in A1 with "=$B$1" So now, when I click it the "TRUE", "FALSE" text appears depending if check box is checked or not. The problem starts when I want to duplicate those two to more rows. Now every check box makes the B1 text to change, not the one it represents as in check box A1 should change B1 text, check box in cell A2 should change B2 text and so on, but now all check boxes change the same B1 text. Is there any workaround?

But the Gender input from the select drop down menu doesn't. Can some one tell me how to fix this, thanks.

• How do I access a <form> that is not the master page <form>?

  Winforms developer converting to web developer. I know the part about the Master Page having the tag, what is not clear is if I can or can not have another in one of my content pages. I have been seeing both answers doing searches. I see yes you can if only one has runat=server. The thing is I have a that contains several radio buttons on a web page that has a master page. I have a .js file that has a function if I send the name into it, it will loop thru the controls in the form to see which one is selected and return the desired date horizon(MTD, QTD, YTD, etc.). When I run this on a non master page web page it works fine. However, when I run on a web page that has a master page I can't seem to get to the element. I tried getElementByID, I tried looping through the page elements, etc. Maybe I am going about this incorrectly and I hope someone can straighten me out. Here is the code from my .js file that may help explain what I am trying to do a little better. var frmDateRanges = document.getElementById(formFieldName); var chosen; var len = frmDateRanges.DateRanges.length; for(i=0;i<len;i++) { if(frmDateRanges.DateRanges[i].checked) { chosen = frmDateRanges.DateRanges[i].value; } } where formFieldName is an arguement that is passed into the function and DateRanges is the name value given to the radio buttons. In the button I call this function I have: onclick ="FunctionCall('frmDateRanges')" FunctionCall is just for description purposes, 'frmDateRanges' is the name and id given to the form action="" Thanks for the help as I am stumped at this point. If there is a better way to do this please let me know that as well.

  I have noticed a rather strange behaviour in IE. I have a HTML form with a single input text field and a submit button On Submit click I need to execute a client side JavaScript function that does the necessary. Now when I want to prevent the postback in the text field (on enter key press) I have added a key press JavaScript function that looks like this: <input type=text onkeypress="return OnEnterKeyPress(event)" /> function OnEnterKeyPress(event) { var keyNum = 0; if (window.event) // IE { keyNum = event.keyCode; } else if (event.which) // Netscape/Firefox/Opera { keyNum = event.which; } else return true; if (keyNum == 13) // Enter Key pressed, then start search, else do nothing. { OnButtonClick(); return false; } else return true; } Strangly this doesn't work. • Spring MVC: Where to place validation and how to validation entity references.

  Let's say I have the following command bean for creating a user: public class CreateUserCommand { private String userName; private String email; private Integer occupationId; pirvate Integer countryId; } occupationId and countryId are drop down selected values on the form. They map to an entity in the database (Occupation, Country). This command object is going to be fed to a service facade like so: userServiceFacade.createUser(CreateUserCommand command); This facade will construct a user entity to be sent to the actual service. So I suppose that in the facade layer I will have to make several dao calls to map all the lookup properties of the User entity. Based on this what is the best strategy to validate that occupationId and countryId map to real entities? Where is the best place to perform this validation? There is the spring validator but I am not sure this is the best place for this, for one I am wary of this method as validation is tied to the web tier, but also that means I would need to make the dao calls in the validator for validation but I would need to call the dao's in the facade layer again when the command - entity translation occurs. Is there anything I can do better? Thanks.

  I created a MySQL database in Workbench 5.2.35 for purposes of storing and using information submitted in html forms but I'm having difficulty inserting records from the html form. The relevant SQL script was saved as Demo2.sql, the schema is C2F, and the table is customer_info. I wasn't sure if that was the problem, so I tried replacing the database name (Demo2) with the schema name, but that didn't work either. • javascript/html/php: Is it possible to insert a value into a form with Ajax?

  I have a form where users enter some text manually. Then I'd like to let the users choose a tag from a database through AJAX, not unlike how tag suggestions appear in the SO question form. While the div where the ajax call places the tag is inside the form, it does not seem to register and the tag is not picked up by the form. Am I missing something in my code, is this impossible or, if impossible there a better way to do this? Thanks for any suggestions.   I have tried everything. I cannot get this centered on the screen. I am using ie 9 but it does the same in chrome. It just sits on the left of the webpage. • View Webserver Form Internal and Extenal

  We have a web server hosted out of our office, and it works fine when people access the site from outside the office. The problem is that when people are inside the office and go to the website (www.example.com) it's very slow, as it goes out over the internet and comes back in. Or LAN is Windows with Active Directory and our web server is CentOS with its own internet connection. How can I set when users in my office want see website opens it from local network instead of going out of one internet connection and back in through the other?

But this is not working on this case because the routes don't exists without the shop_id parameter, and I don't know how to say to the form_for something like this: <% form_for [:backshop, @item], :shop_id => @shop do |f| %> Because it tries to use the @item like the :shop_id parameter. • Recover deleted folder form bookmarks bar?

  I googled for this, but didn't find an answer. I removed a folder in Google Chrome's Bookmarks bar. Chrome says nothing when doing this, and I assumed it wouldn't actually delete the data from the Bookmarks manager, just the folder in the Bookmarks bar. Turns out I was wrong, and now I lost hundred's of URLs. I closed and restarted Chrome since then, so data is apparently no longer on disk. Since Google Sync is on by default, it says I have "536 bookmarks", I installed Chrome on another computer, logged on to Google... but the folder is still gone. I can't believe Chrome doesn't prompt the user with an obvious message for something that important. Is there somehow a way to recover a folder removed from the Bookmarks bar? Thank you. Edit: Amazingly, Chrome doesn't 1) provide a way to remove an item from the Bookmarks bar without also deleting it from the Bookmarks list, and 2) doesn't even warn the user of the consequences when doing so! The only way to recover data is: if you haven't closed the browser yet, make a backup of the Bookmarks file, close the browser, replace the now-leaner Bookmarks file with the previous version, and restart Chrome if you have closed it, recover the file from your backup. You did backup that file, right? ;-)
