• Android: Scheduling application to start with repeating alarms not working

  I get my Broadcast receiver to set a recurring alarm, to fire up a service. Unfortunately this does not result in the service being called repeatedly (based on logcat). I've experimented with different values for the time interval too. Can someone help?   I am attempting to launch a specific form depending on the selected node of a treeview on the doubleclick event. The code I need to use to launch the form is a little bulky becuase I have to ensure that the form is not disposed, and that the form is not already open, before launching a new instance. I'd like to have all of this checking happen in one place at the end of the function, which means that I have to be able to pass the right form type to the code at the end. I'm trying to do this with a System.Type, but that doesn't seem to be working. Could someone point me in the right direction, please? • How to reset keyboard for an entry field?

However, my case is that the keyboards are different some fields. For example, one fields is numeric & punctuation, and the next one is default (alphabetic keys). For the numeric & punctuation keyboard is OK, but the next field will stay as the same layout. It requires user to press 123 to go back ABC keyboard. I am not sure if there is any way to reset the keyboard for a field as its keyboard defined in xib? Not sure if there is any APIs available? I guess I have to do something is the following delegate? -(void)textFieldDidBegingEditing:(UITextField*) textField { // reset to the keyboard to request specific keyboard view? .... } OK. I found a solution close to my case by slatvik: -(void) textFieldDidBeginEditing:(UITextField*) textField { textField.keyboardType = UIKeybardTypeAlphabet; } However, in the case of the previous text fields is numeric, the keyboard stays numeric when auto-jumped to the next field. Is there any way to set keyboard to alphabet mode?

• Encode_JSON Errors in Lasso 8.6.2 After Period of Time

  We are in the process of converting apps from Lasso 8 to Lasso 9, and as an intermediate step, have upgraded from 8.5.5 to 8.6.2 (which runs alongside 9 on our new box, in different virtual hosts). I am finding that with 8.6.2 we are getting a slew of errors on pages that call encode_json. The weird thing with these errors is that they don't start happening until some period of time after the site starts. Then, some hours later, all encode_json calls begin to fail with error messages like this: An error occurred while processing your request. Error Information Error Message: No tag, type or constant was defined under the name "?????????????????" with arguments: array: (pair: (-find)=([\x{0020}-\x{21}\x{23}-\x{5b}\x{5d}-\x{10fff}])), (r) at: onCompare with params: 'r' at: JSON with params: 'reload', -Options=array: (-Internal) at: JSON with params: @map: (reload)=(false), (tcstring)=(LZU), (timestring)=(10:42 AM&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;1442Z) at: [...].lasso with params: 'pageloadtime'='1383038310' on line: 31 at position: 1 Error Code: -9948 (Yes, those Chinese(?) characters are in the error message.) I have removed the 8.5.5 encode_json tag from LassoStartup, so we are using the correct built-in method. The encode_json method fails for any and all parameters I throw at it from simple strings to arrays of maps. Upon restarting the site, encode_json resumes working for an hour or two, seemingly depending on load. On 8.5.5, we don't have this problem. Does anyone have experience with this issue? Any advice regarding trying the 8.5.5 tag swap encode_json to see if I can override the built-in method? Maybe it will work better? Thanks in advance for your time and assistance. -Justin

  Hi, after processing my first steps in working with XML in java I am now at the point where I want to update some data in my XML/GPX file... Reaplacing it in my "Document" data type works great :) How here comes the question: how can I store the changed "document"-model back to my file? Do I have to do this by using the standart file-functions (via steams and so on) oder is the a more elegant way to do this? ;-) Here's the code I already worked out, maybe that could help. • Debugging Widget causes ANR

  I'm trying to debug an AppWidget but I incurred in a problem :D I placed a breakpoint on the top of the method: public void onReceive(Context context, Intent intent) { Log.v(TAG, "onReceive 1"); // BP on this line super.onReceive(context, intent); String action = intent.getAction(); // Checks on action and computations ... Log.v(TAG, "onReceive 2"); updateWidget(context); Log.v(TAG, "onReceive 3"); } The breakpoint stops the execution as expected but then the process dies. The problem is that the breakpoint ( I guess xD ) cause an ANR and the ActivityManager kills the process. That's the Log: 01-07 14:32:38.886: ERROR/ActivityManager(72): ANR in com.salvo.wifiwidget 01-07 14:32:38.886: INFO/Process(72): Sending signal. PID: 475 SIG: 9 ...... ...... 01-07 14:32:38.906: INFO/ActivityManager(72): Process com.salvo.wifiwidget (pid 475) has died. This cause the debug to stop. So the question is: there's a way to debug the widget without incurring in the ANR?? thanks in advance for the answers

  I am trying to make an android app that makes connection with bluetooth device. It works fine but when I call BluetoothSocket.connect() and it is not able to connect to devise its blocking. The thread and does not throw any exception. So when I try to close application while connect() is running its not responding. How can I cancel it? • Magento My Account Layout XML Problem

  Hi there, I'm having issues getting the customer.xml layout file to work properly for the customer's "my account" pages. The navigation links and the previously ordered items that are usually on the left hand side of the page won't show up on the page, but if I change the reference name to "content" in the xml file, it shows up (except it's obviously then on the right hand side). I've checked the template it's referencing (2columns-left.phtml), and the getChildHtml('left') is there in the correct position. However, I always get a blank page. load function works fine because if I try to load a static page, it works. • What do you use to store all of your personal data?

  I have been on a quest for years to find the perfect tool to store all "my stuff". You know... personal information, code snippets, software keys, people's birthdays, whatever. There are lots of tools out there for this sort of thing, but I've never found any of them quite what I need. Ideally, I would just be able to type some notes, tag them (I don't like the idea of folder organization... too cumbersome) and then easily search and retrieve what I need later. It seems so simple, but for some reason I just can't find it. I currently use Backpack (sometimes), which is OK, but I hate the fact that you always have to create "pages" to store things. I don't want to have to do that. I want to just type some notes, tag it and save. That's it. And Backpack didn't even have search for a long time. What I do like about Backpack is that it's fast and it's web based. I've tried some desktop apps, which probably came closer to the functionality I want, but I just hate being tied to a single machine. I want to be able to get to my stuff anywhere, so the web based thing is a definite requirement. Anyway, I'm thinking about writing my own thing for this if I can't find anything, but before I make the attempt, I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions? I've used Backpack, Zoho Planner, Stikkit and Google Notes so far, and they are not quite to my liking. Anyone? (Sorry if this is off-topic, but I figured you guys might be legitimately into this kind of thing... you know, storing code snippets and such.) UPDATE: I've been using Evernote for a few days, and it is exactly what I've been looking for. It is totally tag based and allows both online and offline usage. The desktop app sits in your system tray and allows you to add whatever you want on the fly either as text notes or clippings from the browser. It also syncs it to the web (if you want) where you can get to it from anywhere using their web client. They even have a mobile client which I haven't used, but I will try it soon. However, I want to redirect (using mod_rewrite) all requests from http://blog.domain.com/ to http://www.domain.com/blog/. A few examples: Accessing http://blog.domain.com/archives should access http://www.domain.com/blog/archives/ Accessing http://blog.domain.com/tag/abc should access http://www.domain.com/blog/tag/abc/ Accessing http://blog.domain.com/some-post-title should access http://www.domain.com/blog/some-post-title All this should be transparent to the user, the address shouldn't be changed on the browser's address bar. • Editing tags in bunch of MP3 files?

  I have a bunch of files whose filename looks like "<Track> - <Title> - <Artist>.mp3". I'd like to rewrite their MP3 Title tag to be "<Track> - <Title>.mp3" so that each song is displayed correctly on my elcheapo MP3 player. Since I rarely edit MP3 files anyway, MP3 Tag Tools 1.2 Build 008 from 2003 was good enough, but I can't figure out how to do this with this application. I just tried MP3Tag 2.46, but couldn't figure out if it can do this (created a new Action, to no avail). I also tried TagScanner 5.1.558, without success. Does someone know of a good, free Windows application that can do this? Thank you.

  I can't login to Facebook because they think someone tried to hack my account. To verify it's really me they present me with photos that my friends have been tagged in and ask me to give them the correct names of who is tagged in the photos. Now because alot of my friends think it's funny to tag themselves in random photos of others, or tag themselves as objects in photos, I can't successfully get all 10 correct. I also have alot of friends of friends that have added me that I don't know closely enough to identify the back of their head in a distant blurry photo. Facebook only allows one attempt per hour to try this. How am I supposed to restore my account when they have such a stupid method to prove identity?

Please consider, there can be more than one occurence of c (next to each other or not) in one tag... I tried this myself, but it won't change multiple c, and it does append a X :( sed -i 's/\(<tree.*bar=\".*\)c\(.*\"\/>\)/\1X\2/g' Input.xml

• creating TAGS for Ruby and emacs

  I ran the following from my top level Ruby on Rails directory find . -name "*.rb" | etags - Then within emacs I visited that tag file. This works reasonably well to find some of the methods and most of the files, however it is having trouble finding some of the extra methods/classes that I use in my helpers directory. e.g. I have a file in my helpers dir called my_foo_helper.rb If I search my tags for that file, it finds it. However, if I try to find a tag for one of the methods within that module it doesn't find it at all. If I use Aptana or something like that it seems to be able to locate those methods. Any thoughts?
