• Nginx + PHP-FPM executes script, but returns 404

  I am using Nginx + PHP-FPM to run a Wordpress based site. I have a URL that should return dynamically generated JSON data for use with the DataTables jQuery plugin. The data is returned properly, but with a return code of 404. I think this is a Nginx config issue, but I haven't been able to figure out why. The script 'getTable.php' works properly on the production version of the site which is currently using Apache. Anyone know how I can get this to work on Nginx? • Bypass cache for mobile user agents, VARNISH+NGINX+W3CACHE

  Right now I'm running Wordpress w/ W3 Cache on nginx with varnish front end. I'm trying to use the WP Touch Pro plugin for wordpress to display mobile sites, but it is not working. Shows the desktop theme still. I've put the mobile user agents in the rejected user agents box in w3 cache. • MVC HTML.RenderAction – Error: Duration must be a positive number

  On my website I want the user to have the ability to login/logout from any page. When the user select login button a modal dialog will be present to the user for him to enter in his credentials. Since login will be on every page, I thought I would create a partial view for the login and add it to the layout page. But when I did this I got the following error: Exception Details: System.InvalidOperationException: Duration must be a positive number. There are other ways to work around this that would not using partial views, but I believe this should work. So to test this, I decided to make everything simple with the following code: Created a layout page with the following code @{Html.RenderAction("_Login", "Account");} In the AccountController: public ActionResult _Login() { return PartialView("_Login"); } Partial View _Login <a id="signin">Login</a> But when I run this simple version this I still get this error: Exception Details: System.InvalidOperationException: Duration must be a positive number. Source of error points to "@{Html.RenderAction("_Login", "Account");}" There are some conversations on the web that are similar to my problem, which identifies this as bug with MVC (see links below). But the links pertain to Caching, and I'm not doing any caching.   I am loading an external file 'contact_us.aspx' into a jquery dialog box. the external page contains a form. When the submit button is pressed it closes the dialog box and changes the page to contact_us.aspx. is my code correct or is there a different way of doing this. see my code below, thanks. • window.focus() not working in Google Chrome

  Hey folks, Just wondering if Google Chrome is going to support window.focus() at some point. When I mean support, I mean have it work. The call to it doesn't fail, it just doesn't do anything. All other major browsers do not have this problem: FireFox, IE6-IE8 and Safari. I have a client-side class for managing browser windows. When I first create a window the window comes into focus, but subsequent attempts to bring focus to the window do not work. From what I can tell, this appears to be a security feature to avoid annoying pop-ups and it does not appear to be a WebKit issue as it works in Safari. I know one idea someone brought forward was to close the window then reopen it, but this is a horrible solution. Googling shows that I do not appear to be the only person frustrated with this. And just to be 100% clear, I mean new windows, not tabs (tabs cannot be focused from what I've read) and all the windows being opened are in the same domain. Any ideas?   EDIT: It was issue with database table - dropping and recreating table id column did the work. Problem solved. I'm trying to build web application, that is connected to postgresql database. Results are displaying in view with Kendo UI. When I'm trying to add new row (with Kendo UI 'Add new record' button), I get error 23505: 'Duplicate key violates unique constraint'. My guess is, that EF takes id to insert from the beginning, not the last one, because after 35 (it's number of rows in table) tries - and errors - adding works perfectly. Can someone help me to understand, what's wrong? • NSURLConnection request seems to disappear into thin air

  Hi Everybody! I'm having trouble with a NSURLConnection request. My app calls a routine called sayHello to identify a user's device. This code works fine for all devices I've tested it on, but for some devices the request just seems to disappear into thin air with no errors or popups on the device. One specific device that fails is an iPod Touch 2G running OS 3.1.3. The app start's fine and doesn't crash, and none of my error popup messages are displayed. I just can't understand why my server never receives the request since the call to initWithRequest returns a pointer. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks. • Firefox and TinyMCE 3.4.9 won't play nice together

  I've submitted a bug to the tinyMCE people, but i'm hoping someone else has come across this and has a suitable workaround. Here's the situation: I've got a form with a tinyMCE control that i load into a jquery dialog. it works great the first time, then after they close it, and open a new one. any interaction with the tinyMCE control gives: "Node cannot be used in a document other than the one in which it was created" it also doesn't fill the control with the text it's supposed to be prepopulated with. • Cannot Logout of Facebook with Facebook C# SDK

  I think I've read just about everything out there on the topic of logging out of Facebook inside of a Desktop application. Nothing so far works. Specifically, I would like to log the user out so that they can switch identities, e.g. People sharing a computer at home could then use the software with their own Facebook accounts, but with no chance to switch accounts, it's quite messy. (Have not yet tested switching Windows users accounts as that is simply far too much to ask of the end user and should not be necessary.) Now, I should say that I have set the application to use these permissions: string[] permissions = new string[] { "user_photos", "publish_stream", "offline_access" }; So, "offline_access" is included there. I do not know if this does/should affect logging out or not. Again, my purpose for logging out is merely to switch users. (If there's a better approach, please let me know.) The purported solutions seem to be: Use the JavaScript SDK (FB.logout()) Use "m.facebook.com" instead Create your own URL (and possibly use m.facebook.com) Create your own URL and use the session variable (in ASP.NET) The first is kind of silly. Why resort to JavaScript when you're using C#? It's kind of a step backwards and has a lot of additional overhead in a desktop application. (I have not tried this as it's simply disgustingly messy to do this in a desktop application.) If anyone can confirm that this is the only working method, please do so. I'm desperately trying to avoid it. The second doesn't work. Perhaps it worked in the past, but my umpteen attempts to get it to work have all failed. The third doesn't work. I've tried umpteen dozen variations with zero success. The last option there doesn't work for a desktop application because it's not ASP.NET and you don't have a session variable to work with. (Which truly puzzles me...) It instead now directs the user to the Facebook mobile page, where the user must manually logout. Now, I could do browser automation to automatically click the logout link for the user, however, this is prone to breaking if Facebook updates the mobile UI. It is also messy, and possibly a worse solution than trying to use the JavaScript SDK FB.logout() method (though not by much). I have searched for some kind of documentation, however, I cannot find anything in the Facebook developer documentation that illustrates how to logout an application. Has anyone solved this problem, or seen any documentation that can be ported to work with the Facebook C# SDK? I am certainly open to using a WebClient or HttpClient/Response if anyone can point to some documentation that could work with it. I simply have not been able to find any low-level documentation that shows how this approach could work. Thank you in advance for any advice, pointers, or links.

• Kindle Fire: PopupMenu$OrientationChangeListener leak

  I have a little popup menu that anchors on a button in the action bar. This works well on 3.0/3.1 Xoom and Galaxy tabs, and a 4.1 Nexus 7. However, on a 7" Fire HD (this one), I get an error about a leaked intent receiver when exiting the application. The error occurs only if the menu was not opened during that run. There is no mention of OrientationChangeListener in the one copy of the source I've found; I suspect Amazon has a different implementation. Questions: Has anyone encountered this? Does anyone know of a workaround or a fix? (Where) can I find Amazon's source code? Finally, (shudder) how important is it that I don't leak a receiver on application exit? • Rendering a Long Document on iPad

  I'm implementing a document viewer with highlighting/annotation capabilities for a custom document format on iPad. The documents are kind of long (100 to 200 pages, if printed on paper) and I've had a hard time finding the right approach. Here are the requirments: 1) Basic rich-text styling: control of left/right margins. Control of font name, size, foreground/background color, and line spacing. Bold, italics, underline, etc. 2) Selection and highlighting of arbitrary text regions (not limited to paragraph boundaries, like in Safari/UIWebView). 3) Customization of the Cut/Copy/Paste popup (what is that thing called anyhow? UIActionBar?) This is one of the essential requirements of the app. My first implementation was based on UIWebView. I just rendered the document as HTML with CSS for text styling. But I couldn't get the kind of text selection behavior I wanted (across paragraph boundaries) and the UIActionBar can't be customized from within UIWebView. So I started working on a javascript approach, faking the device text-selection behavior using JQuery to trap touch events and dynamically modifying the DOM to change the background color of selected regions of text. I built a fake UIActionBar control as a hidden DIV, positioning it and unhiding it whenever there was an active selection region. Not too shabby. The main problem is that it's SLOOOOOOOW. Scrolling through the document is nice and quick, but dynamically changing the DOM is not very snappy. Plus, I couldn't figure out how to recreate the magnifier loupe, so my fake text-selection GUI doesn't look quite the same as the native implementation. Also, I haven't yet implemented the communication bridge between the javascript layer and the objective-c layer (where the rest of the app lives), but it was shaping up to be a huge hassle. So I've been looking at CoreText, but there are precious few examples on the web. I spent a little time with this simple little demo: http://github.com/jonasschnelli/I7CoreTextExample/ It shows how to use CoreText to draw an NSAttributedText string into a UIView. But it has its own problems: It doesn't implement text-selection behavior, and it doesn't present a UIActionBar, so I don't have any idea how to make that happen. And, more importantly, it tries to draw the entire document all at once, with significant performance degradations for long documents. My documents can have thousands of paragraphs, and less than 1% of the document is ever on screen at a time. On the plus side, these documents already contain precise formatting information. I know the exact page-position of every line of text, so I don't need a layout engine. Does anyone know how to implement this sort of view using CoreText? I understand that a full-fledged implementation is overkill for a question like this, but I'm looking for a good CoreText example with a few basic requirements: 1) Precise layout & formatting control (using the formatting metrics and text styles I've already calculated). 2) Arbitrary selection of text. 3) Customization of the UIActionBar. 4) Efficient recycling of resources for off-screen objects. I'd be happy to implement my own recycling when text elements scroll off-screen, but wouldn't that require re-implementing UIScrollView? I'm brand-new to iPhone development, and still getting used to Objective-C, but I've been working in other languages (Java, C#, flex/actionscript, etc) for more than ten years, so I feel confident in my ability to get the work done, if only I had a better feel for the iPhone SDK and the common coding patterns for stuff like this. Is it just me, or does the SDK documentation really suck? Anyhow, thanks for your help!

Collect the Cookie information for each call, and store it to a file. The above is to be run with multi-threading, so that I can send around 5-10 URL requests simultaneously. I have implemented something in Selenium using Java, but have not been able to do the multi-threading approach. Then when I capture the cookie information from here and store it, I open another window to output all the cookie information for that server to my browser window. This works fine when I do outside of Selenium code, but when I do it within the above code, it opens a "Save As..." popup and my tests stop. :-( I wish to save the contents of that second call to a new file, but have not been able to do the same. Also, if I have to send multiple such requests to the server, how would that be possible in Java using a Selenium Framework. Currently, I am opening multiple instances of the framework and running them with different parameters :-(

So, I decided to the keep the images outside and then once loaded, append it to the CampWindow . It's not working still; when I append the div to the main CampWindow div, the images won't show. I check in Firebug with the pointer thingy and it shows me the images as empty. I try it again with the images outside and it shows the images. I've tried before append and appendTo with no success. Am I missing something here? I have no more woohoo to claw out.   I'm a complete noob with google maps api and I started with a given script that I'm editing to what I need to do. In this case I have a map with some points in it that come from a database. Furthermore, what would be fantastic but I'm clueless if it's even possible is the following: when I get the directions I get something like this: (a) Street A directions (b) Street B And I want (a) Name of first point directions (b) Name of second point (also from database) I understand that my knowledge of the subject is very lacking and the question might be a bit vague, but I would appreciate any tip pointing me in the right direction. EDIT: Ok, I learned a lot from the google api with this problem but I'm still far from what I need. I learned how to hide the default markers doing this: // Hide the route markers when signaled. • reloading page while an ajax request in progress gives empty response and status as zero

  Hi, Browser is firefox 3.0.10 I am requesting a page using ajax. The response is in progress may be in readyState less than 4. In this mean time i am trying to reload the page. What happens is the request ends giving an empty response. I used alert to find what string has been given as response text. I assume that by this time the ready state 4 is reached. why it is empty string. when i alert the xmlhttpobject.status it displayed 0. when i alert the xmlhttpobject.statusText an exception occurs stating that NOT AVAILABLE. when i read in the document http://www.devx.com/webdev/Article/33024/0/page/2 it said for 3 and 4 status and statusText are available but when i tested only status is available but not satausText Here is a sample code. consider that i have requested a page and my callback function is as follows function cb(rt) { if(rt.readyState==4) { alert(rt.status); alert(rt.statusText); // which throws an exception } } and my server side script is as follows sleep(30); //flushing little drop down code besides these i noticed the following... assume again i am requesting the above script using ajax. now there will be an idle time till 30 seconds is over before that 30 seconds i press refresh. i got xmlhttpobject.status as 0 but still the browser did not reload the page untill that 30 seconds. WHY? so what is happening when i refresh a page before an ajax request is complete is the status value is set to zero and the ready state is set to 4 but the page still waits for the response from the server to end... what is happening... THE REASON FOR ME TO FACE SOME THING LIKE THIS IS AS FOLLOWS. when ever i do an ajax request ... if the process succeeded like inserting some thing or deleting something i popup a div stating that updated successfully and i will reload the page. but if there is any error then i do not reload the page instead i just alert that unable to process this request. what happens if the user reloads the page before any of this request is complete is i get an empty response which in my calculation is there is a server error. so i was debugging the ajax response to filter out that the connection has been interrupted because the user had pressed reload. so in this time i don't want to display unable to process this request when the user reloads the page before the request has been complete. oh... a long story. IT IS A LONG DESCRIPTION SO THAT I CAN MAKE EXPERTS UNDERSTAND MY DOUBT. so what i want form the above. any type of answer would clear my mind. or i would like to say all type of answers. EDIT: 19 dec. If i did not get any correct answer then i would delete this question and will rewrite with examples. else i will accept after experimenting.

• Help with understanding why UAC dialog pops up on Win7 for our application

  We have a C++ unmanaged application that appears to cause a UAC prompt. It seems to happen on Win7 and NOT on Vista Unfortunately the UAC dlg is system modal so I can't attach a debugger to check in the code where it is, and running under msdev (we're using 2008) runs in elevated mode. We put a message box at the start of our program/winmain but it doesn't even get that far, so apparently this is in the startup code. What can cause a UAC notification so early and what other things can I do to track down the cause? EDIT Apparently the manifest is an important issue here, but it seems not to be helping me - or perhaps I am not configuring the manifest file correctly. Can someone provide a sample manifest? Also, does the linker/UAC magic figure out that the program "might" write to the registry and set its UAC requirements based on that? There are code paths that might trigger UAC, but we are not even at that point when the UAC dlg comes up. An additional oddity is that this does not seem to happen on Vista with UAC turned on. (we set that in the installer I found out because some sound drivers don't work correctly on win7)
