• Which ATI driver version did 10.04 use?

  I have a trouble with ATI driver with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. When I install ATI driver in Ubuntu 12.04 via "Additional Driver", then I can't shutdown Ubuntu, it showed blank (black) screen and my laptop still run. Sometimes, my screen like that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9_iygesbBM But when I install Ubuntu 10.04 and install ATI driver via "Additional Driver", it's very good and no trouble I've seen. It's sweet but 10.04 is old and is supported to 4/2013. So I want to know why Ubuntu 10.04 works good better than 12.04 with ATI driver (in my case)?

• Maya Animated Character export for XNA 4.0 problem

  To begin with, I'm trying to export an animated character in .fbx format from Maya 2013 to XNA 4.0 In Maya, The Model has a basic rig and the animations are in clips made in the Trax editor. so the issue i'm having is after selecting the model and the root joint and then hitting export in .fbx format, for some reason when i open the exported .fbx file the joint system is detached from the model with no animation. Btw, i have the animations in clips so that they can be called in code, for example "run","walk","attack". So, what can i do to solve this problem? Thank you.

• Internet connection randomly drops out

  Since a week or 2, I have this random network failures. No error pops up, the system says it's still connected to the internet(wifi and wired). The problem is, I can't connect to anything, even a ping google.com gives no feedback. And after many network-manager resets it will work again, for just a minute, and drop out again. I noticed that the /etc/resolv.conf contains this line: nameserver 127.0.0.1 I left out the "Do not edit" stuff, and after it worked for a second, this line is added: search lan When I change the nameserver to 8.8.8.8, I am still able to connect to anywhere. Does anyone got a clue what is happening here? I will provide any information asked. Thanks in advance p.s. I run Ubuntu 13.04 since lastnight(24-06-2013)

• Use hotplug and turn on/off PCI device for replacing NIC

  How can I turn off the PCI slots and change the device (especially NIC) without shutting the server down? I found a similar question (How do I turn off PCI devices?) but there are no /sys/bus/pci/slot and no files in /sys/bus/pci/slots.     Ich darf ja keine Namen nennen, aber der Gewinner unserer Umfrage auf der DOAG Konferenz 2012 steht fest und hat sich mit seiner Teilnahme selbst ein erstklassiges Nikolaus-Geschenk gemacht - und zwar ein niegelnagelneues iPad!!! Zugegeben - genau so wie auf dem Bild sieht das iPad des glücklichen Gewinners nicht aus, denn dieser Custom Design Wunsch von mir hätte wahrscheinlich ebenso viel gekostet wie eine ausgewachsene Exadata, aber das wird die Freude nicht trüben. • How to tell google a blog article has been updated?

  The URL of my posts has the publication date and slugged title, but how can I best show google search users that an article has been updated since its original publication? I was considering devoting a few characters of the meta description (e.g. "updated 2013-Aug-1), or doing so under the first h1 tag. I don't want to hurt the seo value of my site, but I also want to let users know that articles have been substantially updated since their publication. Is there a better way to do this?

• Freeze when installing 13.10

  guys! I encountered an installation problem when I try to make a dual boot computer of win8 and ubuntu 13.10. I follow this guide:http://overtond.blogspot.tw/2013/10/ubuntu-on-gigabyte-p34g-ultrablade.html because the same of the laptop GIGABYTE p34g. I disabled the secure boot(as well as 3D graphic acceleration and Intel rapid start as the above script advised) and start installing. However, installation got stuck like this(http://ppt.cc/iMYQ). I have been bothered by this for a week. Any advice would help, thanks!

If this is the wrong place to ask this, however, please let me know - I will personally delete the thread. I am in the process of downloading a single license for Visual Studio 2013 for my firm of 2-3 developers. One license is approximately $498.00 USD. As a small firm, our funds are short, but since we will be creating commercial software, we decided we will be needing the features of the Professional edition. At the same time, our decision is to use the Express edition for the rest of the two developers. My question is - will there be compatibility issues between Express projects and Professional projects for Visual Studio?

The workshop in Köln is the first in Germany and I look forward to meet new BI developers there.Copenhagen is the second edition after another we delivered this spring.   SharePoint 2010 Training: more information First of all, I am a proponent of SharePoint apps. As I have said many times over, SharePoint Apps make me very ‘appy, they are very app-propriate. But there are some points to consider that make a bit app-rehensive. These are all mentioned in my book “SharePoint 2013 - Planet of the Apps”, .. but here are some thoughts of the negatives of Apps that I think we need to consider before diving in, Mutliple Servers, More Complexity Apps, by definition will include an extra server. This excludes SharePoint-hosted apps of course. Extra servers by definition will add more complexity. As it is, when you introduce SharePoint to an organization, the number of servers multiply like bunnies. Now you will have additional servers, and these servers talking with each other. You will have to maintain trusts, and you will have to patch more stuff, reset more “admin” passwords – you get my point. Read full article ....
