  • How to process audio in real time?

    I am giving some audio input through microphone. I recorded it in Audacity, it looks something like as shown below. I want to process this audio in real time. I mainly want to do this. 1) see real time audio amplitude vs time graph 2) perform some actions based on some thing (like if a specific type of hike is seen in audio, then do something, else do something else) Is there any python module or C library that can allow me to do this ?

    Hi, I'm use nosetests to run some tests. However, after the tests have finished running, the nosetests process just sits there, and will not exit. Is there anyway to diagnose this? Does Python have a facility similar to sending Java a kill -QUIT which will print a stack trace?

    On Linux, normally I use ptrace function to trace all syscall, and kill the process if the it tries to do anything harmful to my machine, such as system("shutdown -s -t 00") or so. Is there a way for me to do this on Windows? EDIT: I want to write Sandbox program to limit time and memory usage of its child that can work on both Windows and Linux, and now it can only run on Linux via ptrace

    How do I kill a process which is running in bash - for example, suppose I open a file: $ gedit file.txt is there any way within the command prompt to close it? This example is fairly trivial, since I could just close the window, but it seems to come up a bit, particularly when I mistype commands.     Hi, Okay, so I currently execute an ffmpeg command via PHP to run a video conversion. The Problem I'm Having is during the conversion, the ffmpeg process(es) use up so much CPU/Processing Power (near 100%), which slows down the response of my webserver.   • Visual Studio 2008 Web Project error: Unable to start program http://localhost:port

    I am re-hashing this question because I have looked at over 50 threads in different forums and have not been able to get a resolution to my problem. Here are the specs: Windows XP SP3, Visual Studio 2008 SP1, .NET 3.5, ASP. NET MVC 2 project, IE 7 (was IE 8) Up until a few days ago I was not having any issues. It is now happening on any solution that I try to debug. I start a debug session (F5), the solution rebuilds, a VS development web server starts and then I get this error: Unable to start program http://localhost:2012/ If I open a web browser and enter the URL the application loads up. I had upgraded to IE 8 a few weeks ago and read there may be some issues so it has been uninstalled and I am currently on IE 7. Also, while IE 8 was installed I had switched my default browser to Firefox but my current default broweser is now IE7. I have reveiewed the threads on this site and others and have not been able to fix the issue. Any help would be appreciated.

  • jquery stop image rotation on mouseover, start on mouseout / hover

    I have built a jQuery rotator to rotate through 3 divs and loop them. I would like to add the functionality on mouse over to "freeze" the current div and then start again on mouse out. I've thought about setting a variable to false at the start of the function and setting it true when it's on it's current frame but I've got my self a bit confused.   • Regex: Use start of line/end of line signs (^ or $) in different context

    While doing some small regex task I came upon this problem. I have a string that is a list of tags that looks e.g like this: foo,bar,qux,garp,wobble,thud What I needed to do was to check if a certain tag, e.g. 'garp' was in this list. (What it finally matches is not really important, just if there is a match or not.) My first and a bit stupid try at this was to use the following regex: [^,]garp[,$] My idea was that before 'garp' there should either be the start of the line/string or a comma, after 'garp' there should be either a comma or the end of the line/string. Now, it is instantly obvious that this regex is wrong: Both ^ and $ change their behaviour in the context of the character class [ ]. What I finally came up with is the following: ^garp$|^garp,|,garp,|,garp$ This regex just handles the 4 cases one by one. (Tag at beginning of list, in the center, at the end, or as the only element of the list.) The last regex is somehow a bit ugly in my eyes and just for funs sake I'd like to make it a bit more elegant. Is there a way how the start of line/end of line characters (^ and $) can be used in the context of character classes?
