I'm working on a web based form builder that uses a mix of Jquery and PHP server side interaction. While the user is building the form I'm trying to determine the best method to store each of one of the form items before all the data is sent to the server. I've looked at the following methods
Javascript arrays
XML document
Send each form item to the server side to be stored in a session
I dont know, if it is right forum to ask such question.

What programming language + web framework combinations supports static type-checking? I'm not scared of functional programming (I'd prefer it), however I'm looking for a mature framework with the bells and whistles we've come to expect. Obviously this includes security and efficiency concerns.
What artifacts / diagrams do use to document the flow of a webapplication taking into account links between static pages and how dynamic view components (html forms, JSP, Ajax, etc) interact with server-side components (Servlets, Struts actions, etc)? Do use UML diagrams?

How do I disable the save password prompt in web browsers whenever I'm submitting a form. I've seen a few bank sites where this doesn't come up.
Are they doing it through JS or there any http headers or HTML meta tags available to achieve this?
I'm trying to do this for a mobile application. Please pour your ideas.
I need to implement a Web Service in PHP, but I've never written one in it (I nowadays use ASP.net which handles all that SOAP/WSDL/Disco stuff for me).
Are there any libraries/Frameworks for that? Should be as lightweight as possible as they wire into an existing system.
I am working on a program that automates tasks in a browser like entering text, clicking, etc and right now everything is working fine when using the Web Browser tool in Visual Studio 2010.
What I'd like to know is how should I approach converting all of this so I can use send requests instead of the browser? I heard its a lot more efficient and a lot better if you are going to be using multi threading but I have so much code that already works now and am not sure how I should do this without scraping quite a bit of it.
I'd like to grab daily sunrise/sunset times from here. Is it possible to scrape web content with Python? what are the modules used? Is there any tutorial available?

Hello-
I have a Web ADF application and I simply want the user to have the ability to click on the map and a Popup window displays the Latitide/Longitude values where the users click on the map. How can I do this?
I'm designing a webapplication.
I was wondering if it was feasible to design a php front end (using some php framework e.g. CakePHP), which stores and retrieves data to display to the user.
Then develop a java backend which listens to the database for changes, and depending on what was changed, performs some actions and updates the database.
Any thoughts on this type of implementation would be appreciated.
This question goes out to those who have used Tapestry as a web framework and then either gave it up or switched to something else, or even ported their application from Tapestry to something else.
The question is why? What led you to make this change?
EDIT: Also, what framework (if any) did you change to?
What is the best way or recommended best practice in the flow of database driven asp.net web application? I mean the Database first or coding first or side by side?
I currently have a testing environment for web apps on a virtual machine.
The problem - i would like to keep IE 6 for testing and also have access to newer versions of IE as well.
How can i do this?
Thanks.
Hey, So, I've seen web developers writing in their CV that they create "SEO friendly sites.
". Also I heard that Wordpress is SEO friendly site and other CMSs.
So, what does SEO friendly site mean? I understand, that titles and URLs are probably the most important things for making good positions in google, but is there any other things which I should know?
Thanks
If we only need to graphically authorize a user,

I have a practical exam in web technologies so html, css, javascript and (possibly) php. I'm still learning and just wondered if you guys had any advice. Hi,
I want to create a webapplication which makes use of Google maps.
Features are quite simple:
Users can login (best with FB connect)
Users can post items which are geolocated
UI consists mainly of a google map with all items
I'm looking for something implemented where you would only have to specify the nature of your items.
Any ideas?
How do I use the back and forward browser buttons to navigate my javascript/jQuery web application? I know I can do window.location.href = 'this_url#placeholder' and then perform the appropriate action. But when I do that, the browser scrolls to the element with that placeholder id (or to the top if there wasn't one). How do I get the browser to not scroll anywhere? I've seen this on other sites like facebook, what's the appropriate mechanism for this?
Here are my two questions:
How can I start any application with Guest permissions by default?
How can I set certain applications not to launch with Guest permissions?
For the first bullet, any non-Microsoft signed application I launch should run as the Guest account.
For the second bullet, I'm imagining adding menu entries like this would be a nice approach:
Set to run as Guest (= default selected entry)
Set to run as User
Set to run as Admin
But how do I do this?
Hi I want to change the default application for some file extensions but doing so also changes the icons (and file type information). Is there any way to do this without also changing its icon?
Alternatively, I can change the application and then change only the icon back afterwards. How would I go about doing this?
