  • Elantech touchpad: Right + Left click doesn't work

    This is very common problem and till yet unresolved. The Elantech driver disables right button + left button touchpad click. In the result you cannot aim and shoot in games also you cannot code that kind of interaction in your applications. Driver detects LMB+RMB click but it somehow filters it. I could not find correct entry in the registry to disable that obviously horrible setting. Please notice: 1. I have the latest drivers the problem existed with really old ones, a year old, on Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 ones and current. 2. It has nothing to do with the Windows or hardware but only with the Elantech driver settings. 3. Driver detects LMB+RMB click - it is shown on a dynamic icon on a task bar also uninstalling drivers fix the problem, but then you can't use your touchpad fully.

    I'm looking for a new WiFi router, and one key feature for me is WOL. Seems like many routers won't do this w/ factory firmware. Given my last router (Asus WL-520g) turned into a disco-brick couple hours after flashed to dd-wrt I'd prefer if the new one supported WOL out-of-the-box. other required features would be: dyndns service support port forwarding sometimes it is called "virtual server" I guess NAT loopback so I can access services running in my own network using dyndns hostname or public IP w/o getting too old (for example DIR-615 with factory firmware lets you wait literally minutes) did I mention WiFi? preferably w/ some range extending technology, if such stuff works at all

  • Hotkeys no longer work in Visual C# 2010 Express

    Suddenly none of hotkeys in C# Express work (like F5, F6 etc.). I don't know what I've done, but no doubt its something stupid. Does anyone know how to fixed this? I have tried the Keyboard settings in Options, but it won;t even let me add hotkeys for some reason, even once I've removed the old ones. So re-adding them does not work.

  • Win 7 Netbook refuses to ping JetDirect card (all other PCs work)

    I have an odd thing occuring here. From a Windows 7 netbook, I cannot ping an HP printer on the network, while all other machines (Win7/Vista) can. And the netbook can also ping everything else on the LAN. Example showing that the netbook can ping 192.168.3.4 but not 3.6.     If you open a dialog in Swing, for example a JFileChooser, it goes somewhat like this pseudocode: swing event thread { create dialog add listener to dialog close event { returnValue = somethingFromDialog } show dialog (wait until it is closed) return returnValue } My question is: how can this possibly work? As you can see the thread waits to return until the dialog is closed. This means the Swing event thread is blocked. Yet, one can interact with the dialog, which AFAIK requires this thread to run. So how does that work?

  • How to remove ActiveX Add on from IE 7 (normal method does not work)

    Hi, Does anybody know how to remove an ActiveX control from Internet Explorer 7.0 ? I had been deleting and adding this control numerous times using the built in delete button in Tools, Manage Add-ons, Enable or Disable. This is required for me to test a downloader ActiveX used for a website. It had always shown up in the "Downloaded ActiveX Controls (32 bit) section of the drop down which activates the delete button. However, all of a sudden it now appears under "Add ons that have been used by Internet Explorer" and I cannot delete it from there. The "in folder" column says it's in the C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files folder... But it does not appear to be there either... Thanks, James

  • Can grub and BCD work simultaneously?

    Here's my setup. After I installed a new SSD, I have: Original Windows 7 on sdc1 (to be retired) Copy of Windows 7 on sdb2 A Windows system partition on sdb1 Ubuntu 12.04 on sda, /boot and ergo grub is on sda1 Grub is MBR on sda and set to boot from BIOS. I prefer to not change this; grub is much preferable as a boot manager. I've run update-grub from Ubuntu and grub seems to be correctly configured as all options are available: I can boot any of the 3 Windows partitions and Ubuntu. I also ran the repair tool to get Windows to add both installations to BCD. At present, choosing particular options seem to have no effect; the old version of Windows on sdc1 always boots. I don't understand what is causing this, but I can't figure out what. How does grub and BCD play along? I can't find any docs on this. My thought was to only boot Windows off sdb1, and then let BCD do the rest (present a menu to boot between sdb2 and sdc1, but I can't seem to get BCD to boot sdb2), but this has been unsuccessful.   • Take ownership in windows 7/8 does not work

    I have taken ownership of my external HDD and now I should be able to access every folder but I can't. There are numerous folders for which I don't have the ownership of. I tried taking ownership of those but after I close/reopen an explorer windows the ownership resets itself to what it was before. For example I have a folder which now has this S-1-5-21-95661877-3860777391-1413521220-1000 and a subfolder of this which has Unable to display current owner. If I take the ownership of the subfolder it shows me as the owner but I still can't access it; I get "You don't currently have permission ...".

But the same server settings is working for Google chrome and Internet Download Manager. How to do it ?     I'm trying to use some of the French-Canadian keyboard stokes I'm used to on an English keyboard. I would like to change the behaviour of some keys. I was able to implement these changes in Vim, but I would like them to be applied system-wide (for Windows and Ubuntu). Here's what I want to implement : If I press [a, the character printed is â. When I press [r, something that's supposed to stay normal, the characters printed are [r. If I hold [ for 3 seconds, [ is printed. I want this delay to be applied to all my modified keys. I want to map < to ' and the characters 'e to è. The complex problem here is that I only want the ' beside the ; key to produce the è character, NOT when I press the < (remapped to ') then e.   • Speakers silent, headphones work in Ubuntu 9.04

    I'm running Ubuntu 9.04. Worked fine for months, then I rebooted yesterday after weeks of continuous operation. Now audio won't play through the speakers. The USB headset works fine, but the Conexant audio (CX20549) does not. Weirdly, it thinks it's playing. pavumeter shows appropriate levels, volume looks OK in alsamixer, but no sound. I did find this page: http://www.eugeneteplitsky.com/fixing-silent-pulseaudio-in-ubuntu-9-04/ Unfortunately the advice there doesn't help me. For one thing, the syntax for the alsa-base.conf file is apparently not actually documented anywhere. For another, my chipset isn't listed in the kernel.org docs he links to! EDIT: would upgrading to 9.10 help? Is there a major change in the audio subsystem between 9.04 and 9.10? Any suggestions? EDIT 2: This is stranger than I thought. Sound works normally in Xine, but is silent in Audacity, VLC and mplayer. What the?

    In my web.config I have configured a SiteMapProvider with securityTrimmingEnabled="true" and on my main master page is an asp:Menu control bound to an asp:SiteMapDataSource. In addition I have configured restricted access to all pages in a subfolder "Admin" (using another web.config in this subfolder). If I put a sitemapNode in Web.sitemap... <siteMapNode url="~/Admin/Default.aspx" title="Administration" description="" > ... only users in role "Admin" will have the menu item related to that siteMapNode. So this is working fine and as intended. Now I have defined a URL route in Global.asax to map the physical file to a new URL: System.Web.Routing.RouteTable.Routes.MapPageRoute("AdminHomeRoute", "Administration/Home", "~/Admin/Default.aspx"); But when I use this route-URL in the SiteMap file... <siteMapNode url="Administration/Home" title="Administration" description="" > ... it seems that security trimming does not work: The menu item is visible for all users. (Access to the page is still restricted though, so selecting the menu item by non-Admin users does not navigate to the restricted page.) Question: Is there any setting I've missed so far to make security trimming working with URL routing in ASP.NET 4.0 Web Forms? Did I do something wrong? Is there any work-around? Thank you for help!

  • Password Won't Work after Crash

    My Win 7 computer locked up, so I shut it down (holding down the power button till it shut off). Logging back on, I got an error message that it couldn't load my profile (like I'm entering the wrong password). I logged on the guest account, but can't change anything because it won't accept my password. Is this a serious problem or do I just need to reset the password with one of the options available on your site?
