  • Set dropdownlist item text using server side method

    I am trying to set the Text property of a drop down list option like this: <asp:ListItem Value="AB" Text='<%= Resources.Get("USA") %>'></asp:ListItem> But it isn't working, instead the Text value is literally <%= Resources.Get("USA") %> and not the string "USA". i.e. it is not being interpreted as code. What is the problem?

    Hello there, I am creating a class in C# which eventually will be part of a library that other uses can use. A user of this class has to set some properties and then use a public method to retrieve the results. What shall I do when a user calls the method without setting all the properties? Throw exception and expect the user to catch it? Thanks

    I have a question about using subqueries in an Update statement. My example: UPDATE TRIPS SET locations = city + ', ' FROM (select Distinct city from poi where poi.trip_guid = trips.guid) Is it possible to refer to main table value (trips.guid) in subqueries? When i try to use trips.guid I get the error: "The multi-part identifier "trips.guid" could not be bound."

  • Inputs inside ListView doesn't change values from old to recently set on ItemUpdating event

    Hi, I would appreciate if someone help me to understand this situation. I do not know why but when i edit selected ListView item (containing few TextBoxes) and then press Update button in the ItemUpdating event i always get old values instead of those which were typed recently. Why? I do not use Page_Load event so i do not need check on PostBack I try to get value before i bind data from DB to ListView, so it can't override recently typed values I tried to get TextBoxes values in different Event handlers - ItemCommand, ItemUpdating, ItemDataBound - result si always the same Collection NewValues and OldValues are always empty (i think this is because i don't use SqlDataSource control) The only one way i can get new values - is to check Request, but in this case i can't use control validators ... so probably it is bad idea to work with only request.     I notice my query doesn't behave correctly if one of the like variables is empty: SELECT name FROM employee WHERE name LIKE '%a%' AND color LIKE '%A%' AND city LIKE '%b%' AND country LIKE '%B%' AND sport LIKE '%c%' AND hobby LIKE '%C%' Now when a and A are not empty it works but when a, A and c are not empty the c part is not excuted so it seems? How can I fix this?

    I need to create a Set of objects. The concern is I do not want to base the hashing or the equality on the objects' hashCode and equals implementation. Instead, I want the hash code and equality to be based only on each object's reference identity (i.e.: the value of the reference pointer). I'm not sure how to do this in Java. The reasoning behind this is my objects do not reliably implement equals or hashCode, and in this case reference identity is good enough.

    I'm working on a few animations with jQuery. I have 3-4 elements which should slide in from the top.
