    So, I have a form where I load divs as I go asking for various user input and displaying some offers. If I remove the validation methods (rules, messages, submitHandler), everything works fine.   • Using MongoDB with Ruby On Rails and the Mongomapper plugin

    Hello, i am currently trying to learn Ruby On Rails as i am a long-time PHP developer so i am building my own community like page. I have came pritty far and have made the user models and suchs using MySQL. But then i heard of MongoDB and looked in to it a little bit more and i find it kinda nice. So i have set it up and i am using mongomapper for the connection between rails and MongoDB. And i am now using it for the News page on the site. I also have a profile page for every User which includes their own guestbook so other users can come to their profile and write a little message to them. My thought now is to change the User models from using MySQL to start using MongoDB. I can start by showing how the models for each User is set up. The user model: class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_one :guestbook, :class_name => "User::Guestbook" The Guestbook model model: class User::Guestbook < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :user has_many :posts, :class_name => "User::Guestbook::Posts", :foreign_key => "user_id" And then the Guestbook posts model: class User::Guestbook::Posts < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :guestbook, :class_name => "User::Guestbook" I have divided it like this for my own convenience but now when i am going to try to migrate to MongoDB i dont know how to make the tables. I would like to have one table for each user and in that table a "column" for all the guestbook entries since MongoDB can have a EmbeddedDocument. I would like to do this so i just have one Table for each user and not like now when i have three tables just to be able to have a guestbook. So my thought is to have it like this: The user model: class User include MongoMapper::Document one :guestbook, :class_name => "User::Guestbook" The Guestbook model model: class User::Guestbook include MongoMapper::EmbeddedDocument belongs_to :user many :posts, :class_name => "User::Guestbook::Posts", :foreign_key => "user_id" And then the Guestbook posts model: class User::Guestbook::Posts include MongoMapper::EmbeddedDocument belongs_to :guestbook, :class_name => "User::Guestbook" But then i can think of one problem.. That when i just want to fetch the user information like a nickname and a birthdate then it will have to fetch all the users guestbook posts. And if each user has like a thousand posts in the guestbook it will get really much to fetch for the system. Or am i wrong? Do you think i should do it any other way?     Hi! I'm trying to compose two videos, and I'm using the alpha plug-in to make the white color transparent. To test the alpha plug-in I'm creating the pipeline with gst-launch. The first test I done was: gst-launch videotestsrc pattern=smpte75 \ ! alpha method=custom target-r=255 target-g=255 target-b=255 angle=10 \ ! videomixer name=mixer ! ffmpegcolorspace ! autovideosink \ videotestsrc pattern=snow ! mixer. and it works great! Then I created two videos with those lines: gst-launch videotestsrc pattern=snow ! ffmpegcolorspace ! theoraenc ! oggmux ! filesink location=snow.ogv gst-launch videotestsrc pattern=smpte75 ! ffmpegcolorspace ! theoraenc ! oggmux ! filesink location=bars75.ogv And changed the videotestsrc to a filesrc and it continues working gst-launch filesrc location=bars75.ogv ! decodebin2 \ ! alpha method=custom target-r=255 target-g=255 target-b=255 angle=10 \ ! videomixer name=mixer ! ffmpegcolorspace ! autovideosink \ filesrc location=snow.ogv ! decodebin2 ! alpha ! mixer.   • Jquery image preview plugin issue...

    I have a problem with an image preview that comes up when you hover over a thumbnail. I can change the distance between the preview and the cursor, but if a thumbnail is close to the side of the window, the preview cant fit and you only see part of it.. hope that makes sense... is there a way to make it so that if the preview doesnt fit, it will show up on the other side of the cursor?....   • Make fancybox jQuery plugin with results from submitting a form on same page

    I am trying to take form results that are generated from a PHP call and populate them into a div that will then appear in a light box upon click of the submit button. So far I have successfully setup the form and am populating the results on the same page into a hidden div. I can make this div appear no problem in a light box by setting up a href link but cannot make it show up by simply by clicking the submit button. I know my fancybox and jQuery calls are good but not sure where I'm going wrong on the submit button.     I have a set of 4 checkboxes, all with different names, and require that at least 1 is checked. I know there are a few posts on here already trying to answer this question. The solution that seems to be most logical to me is the answer posted on Question 1734840, but I can't seem to get it working! What's wrong with my code? Or any other new coding ideas to get this working? I have set the class on all of them to 'require-one'. My code looks like this: $("#credential").validate({ rules: { EngId: { required: true } ClientAccount: { required: true } ... } and I'm calling the validation with several buttons (using their click function) depending on selections in the form, often disabling some of the rules: $("#buttonname").click(function() { $("#fieldname").rules("remove"); ... $("#credential").submit(); }); What I can't figure out is where the blockui and unblockui calls would go so that when the user clicks the button, before validation starts, blockui does its magic, and if the validation finds a problem, unblockui is called and enables the form again. I'm pretty new to Jquery and I can't find any examples that I've been able to implement successfully. I would appreciate any help anyone could give (please excuse if this has been covered before).

    I followed these steps: download x-debug*.dll to D:\Program Files\webserver\php\ext\php_xdebug.dll modify php.ini and insert following zend_extension_ts="D:\Program Files\webserver\php\ext\php_xdebug.dll" xdebug.remote_enable=1 xdebug.remote_handler=dbgp xdebug.remote_mode=req xdebug.idekey=default xdebug.remote_autostart=1 restart apache and XDebug is successfully installed. DBGP is installed successfully and configured with 127.0.0.1 but XDebugger is still not connecting/working with notepad++.

Now, I needed to encrypt some fields in the properties file.     i take a regular multiselect listbox and convert it to a jquery ui multiselect listbox by calling this: $(".multiSelectMe").multiselect(); As per the API, i call this method in the return of an ajax function $(".multiSelectMe").multiselect("select", "Item 1"); but nothing seems to happen. i can't figure out a way to have this programatically add items within an ajax call. i was thinking there was maybe another "refresh" method or something like that but i can't find any.

    I've been using StructureMap for about 6 months now; you would think it would start getting easier. It doesn't seem to. Here's the first line of my registry: For<IDbConnection>() .Singleton() .Use<SqlConnection>() .Ctor<string>(WebConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["UnifiedConnectionString"].ConnectionString); It compiles and runs. But when I try to use that Interface, like this: return MsSqlConfiguration.MsSql2008.ConnectionString(((DbConnection)ObjectFactory.GetInstance<IDbConnection>()).ConnectionString); I get StructureMap Exception Code: 202 No Default Instance defined for PluginFamily System.Data.IDbConnection, System.Data, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089 Now I may be missing something (okay, I obviously am), but I don't know how much more plain I can be about defining the default instance for IDbConnection. What am I doing wrong?
