• Updating a Safari Extension?

  Hi there, I'm writing a simple Safari Extension, and I'm trying to figure out how to get the update mechanism working. Thoroughly stumped. Any ideas, guys?

• vtk glyphs 3D, indenpently color and rotation

  I try to display thanks to vtk (python wrapper) several glyphs in a scene with each their own colour and rotation. Unfortunately, just the rotation (using vtkTensorGlyph) is taken in consideration by vtk. Reversely, just color is taken in consideration when I use a vtkGlyph3D. Here is a ready to use piece of code with a vtkTensorGlyph. Each cube should have a random color but there all will be in the same color. I read and read again the doc of vtk but I found no solution.   I'm having a problem related to JAX-WS and AXIS. JAX-WS (2.1.7) as a client, Axis (1.4.x) as server. Everything works OK, but the response can't be read to Java.   I've got a ListView with items composed of RelativeLayouts. No short description is displayed in the feed reader, all I see is the title of the article. Also, all of the articles say they were published at the same time.   I'm having a difficult time understanding how to get Rails to show explicitly the error messages that a child resource is failing on when I render an XML template. Hypothetically, I have the following classes: class School < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :students validates_associated :students end class Student < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :school validates_format_of :email, :with => /^([^@\s]+)@((?:[-a-z0-9]+\.)+[a-z]{2,})$/i, :message => "You must supply a valid email" end Now, in the controller, let's say we want to build a trivial API to allow us to add a new School with a student in it (again, I said, it's a terrible example, but plays its role for the purpose of the question) class SchoolsController < ApplicationController def create @school = School.new @student = school.students.build @student.email = "bad@email" respond_to do |format| if @school.save # some code else format.xml { render :xml => @school.errors, :status => :unprocessable_entity } end end end end Now the validation is working just fine, things die because the email doesn't match the regex that's set in the validates_format_of method in the Student class. However the output I get is the following: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <errors> <error>Students is invalid</error> </errors> I want the more meaningful error message that I set above with validates_format_of to show up. Meaning, I want it to say: <error>You must supply a valid email</error> What am I doing wrong for that not to show up?

  I'm trying to use .net SOAP web service with ksoap2 lib. Example from http://www.vimeo.com/9633556 shows how to do it correct. Below the code from that example. everything shoud work ok, but when I try to do a call inself (httpTransport.call) I get "Permission denied (maybe missing INTERNET permission)" exception. Moreover, I don't see in the Application info window among permissions the internet permission alert. Tried this on emulator and Google phone. Will be very appreciated if somebody could help with it. • jQuery.load doesn't execute javascript with document.write

  I am trying to use jQuery.Load to load an ad call that has a document.write, and for some reason its not able to, or in firefox atleast, reloads the page with the entire ad. • Am I correctly extracting JPEG binary data from this mysqldump?

  I have a very old .sql backup of a vbulletin site that I ran around 8 years ago. I am trying to see the file attachments that are stored in the DB. The script below extracts them all and is verified to be JPEG by hex dumping and checking the SOI (start of image) and EOI (end of image) bytes (FFD8 and FFD9, respectively) according to the JPEG wiki page. But when I try to open them with evince, I get this message "Error interpreting JPEG image file (JPEG datastream contains no image)" What could be going on here? I see some that are not listed in the wiki page (specifically, I see a lot of 5C bytes, so FF5C). But the list is of "common markers" so I'm trying to find a more complete list. This may be due to absent or incorrectly specified EndpointIdentity in the EndpointAddress used to create the channel. Please verify the EndpointIdentity specified or implied by the EndpointAddress correctly identifies the remote endpoint. If not assume it is write as my real file does work and this is what this dummy one is based off. Now my problem is this. I want to enforce as much as I can from my schema. Such as the "owner" tag must be the first element and should show up one time and only one time ( minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="1"). Right now I can remove the owner element from my dummy xml file and deseriliaze it and it will go on it's happy way and convert it to object and will just put that property as null. I don't want that I want it to throw an exception or something saying this does match what was expected. I don't want to have to validate things like that once deserialized. Same goes for the <car></car> tag I want that to appear always even if there is no information yet I can remove that too and it will be happy with that. So what tags do I have to add to make my serialization class know that these things are required and if they are not found throw an exception.
