  • python socket related question.

    Hello,All im totally new to socket programming in python. i was read some tutorial and manual, but i didn't found what i want to make python related socket script in manual or tutorial. i want to make socket script which can send some info to server and also receive some info from server.   • Has anyone ever had OpenCV work with Python 2.7 on MacOS 10.6?

    I've been trying on and off for the past 6 months to get OpenCV to work with Python on MacOS. Every time there's a new release, I try again and fail. I've tried both 64-bit and 32-bit, and both the xcode gcc and gcc installed via macports. I just spend the past two days on it, hopeful that the latest OpenCV release, that appears to include Python support directly would work. It doesn't. I've also tried and failed to use this: http://code.google.com/p/pyopencv/ I've been using OpenCV with C++ or Microsoft C++/CLI for the past few years, but I'd love to use it with Python on a Mac because that is my primary development environment. I'd love to hear from anyone who's actually been able to get the opencv python examples to run under Mac OS 10.6, either 32 or 64-bit. My last attempt was to follow the instructions on this page http://recursive-design.com/blog/2010/12/14/face-detection-with-osx-and-python/ with a clean, fresh install of 10.6 on a 64-bit capable Mac. My PYTHONPATH is set, and I can see the cv library in it. But an "import cv" from python fails. Previously, the closest I've ever gotten (again, staring on a clean, fresh 10.6 install) was this: Python 2.7.1 (r271:86882M, Nov 30 2010, 10:35:34) [GCC 4.2.1 (Apple Inc. build 5664)] on darwin Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information. >>> import cv Fatal Python error: Interpreter not initialized (version mismatch?)     Hello all. I'm trying to create a custom TCP stack using Python 2.6.5 on Windows 7 to serve valid http page requests on port 80 locally. But, I've run into a snag with what seems like Windows 7 tightened up security. This code worked on Vista.   • Visual Studio build fails: unable to copy exe-file from obj\debug to bin\debug

    This is a question asked before, both here on Stack Overflow and other places, but none of the suggestions I've found this far has helped me, so I just have to try asking a new question. Scenario: I have a simple Windows Forms application (C#, .NET 4.0, Visual Studio 2010). It has a couple of base forms that most other forms inherit from, it uses Entity Framework (and POCO classes) for database access. Nothing fancy, no multi-threading or anything. Problem: All was fine for a while. Then, all out of the blue, Visual Studio failed to build when I was about to launch the application. I got the warning "Unable to delete file '...bin\Debug\[ProjectName].exe'. Access to the path '...bin\Debug\[ProjectName].exe' is denied." and the error "Unable to copy file 'obj\x86\Debug\[ProjectName].exe' to 'bin\Debug\[ProjectName].exe'. The process cannot access the file 'bin\Debug\[ProjectName].exe' because it is being used by another process." (I get both the warning and the error when running Rebuild, but only the error when running Build - don't think that is relevant?) I understand perfectly fine what the warning and error message says: Visual Studio is obviously trying to overwrite the exe-file while it the same time has a lock on it for some reason. However, this doesn't help me find a solution to the problem... The only thing I've found working is to shut down Visual Studio and start it again. Building and launching then works, untill I make a change in some of the forms, then I have the same problem again and have to restart... Quite frustrating! As I mentioned above, this seems to be a known problem, so there are lots of suggested solutions. I'll just list what I've already tried here, so people know what to skip: Creating a new clean solution and just copy the files from the old solution. Adding the following to the following to the project's pre-build event: if exist "$(TargetPath).locked" del "$(TargetPath).locked"   if not exist "$(TargetPath).locked" if exist "$(TargetPath)" move "$(TargetPath)" "$(TargetPath).locked" Adding the following to the project properties (.csproj file): <GenerateResourceNeverLockTypeAssembliestrue</GenerateResourceNeverLockTypeAssemblies However, none of them worked for me, so you can probably see why I'm starting to get a bit frustrated. I don't know where else to look, so I hope somebody has something to give me! Is this a bug in VS, and if so is there a patch? Or has I done something wrong, do I have a circular reference or similar, and if so how could I find out? Any suggestions are highly appreciated :)

    I have a Visual Studio 2010 Solution that was imported from a Visual Studio 2008 solution that the Find all References does not work on. I've tried doing some searches on Google to try and figure this out but have come up empty handed. The find all references in VS2008 worked like a charm, we upgraded to 2010 and now no matter what file I'm in the Find All References doesn't return anything. Anyone have any idea how to possibly fix this or some good ways to "debug" the issue.

    I've recently upgraded my project to Visual Studio 2010 from Visual Studio 2008. In Visual Studio 2008, this Code Analysis rule doesn't exist. Now I'm not sure if I should use this rule or not. I'm building an open source library so it seems important to keep people safe from doing mistakes. However, if all I'm going to do is throw ArgumentNullException when the parameter is null, it seems like writing useless code since ArgumentNullException will be thrown even if I won't write that code. Should I remove that rule or fix the violations?

  • cannot find vcvarsall.bat when runnning a pyhton script

    hello all, i am working on vista, and using python 2.6.4. i am using a software which uses a python script. but then i bumped into the message "cannot find vcvarsall.bat". so i installed visual c++ 2010. still the file is not found though it is there. my guess (a very uneducated one...) is that somewhere the path is wrong, because i also have an old visual 2008 (pretty empty) folder. since i have little idea in programming i have no idea where to make the changes for the new path. do i change something in the registery or in the script. i would be happy if somebody could help (preferably in lamen terms). thanx.     I am trying to figure out how Visual Studio 2005 and the Windows SDK 6.1 integrate in a command line build environment (if at all). I am mostly interested in x64 development, but also just in how these two packages fit together. Is it possible/advisable to use the compiler and linker from Visual Studio 2005 and the headers/libraries from the newer Windows SDK 6.1? Also, is it possible to use the devenv command (part of VS2005) in the Windows SDK 6.1 build environment?

When I try to run the Unit Tests that are included in the unit test project that is included in the template I get the following failure on the first test: The test adapter 'VsIdeHostAdapter' threw an exception while running test 'MenuItemCallback'. Call was rejected by callee. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010001 (RPC_E_CALL_REJECTED)) It's intermittent- a new instance of Visual Studio always spins up, then sometimes it works but usually fails.

    When I'm debugging or even coding, it would be really uesful to examine third party assemblies but I can only see their metadata. Given that tools like reflector can decompile assemblies, is there someway or some tool which would allow visual studio to do the same thing? If I happen to have access to the PDB files for an assemblies, would placing them into my applications bin folder allow me to examine the assemblies content through visual studio?

Visual studio has great editing and auto complete for regular XSL, I was wondering if there is any way to add this functionality for FOP tags.
