I'm starting from scratch, what I currently have is a User-class, and a UserController which saves the User object in de DB (through a Service-layer and Dao-layer), basic Spring MVC. I can't use Spring MVC Validation however in our Model-classes, I have to use an XML document so an Admin can change the rules I think I need a pattern which dynamically builds an algorithm based on what is provided by the XML Rules document, but I can't seem to think of anything other than a massive amount of if-statements. I also have nothing for the parsing yet and I'm not sure how I'm gonna (de)couple it from the actual implementation of the validation-process.

XmlHttpRequest's "responseXML" works only when the result is actual XML, so I have only responseText to work with. The innerHTML hack doesn't seem to work with a complete HTML document (in <html</html). - turns out it works fine.

    So I am trying to use jQuery to insert data from an ajax call. I actually use the jquery.form plugin, and have the ajax form submitted with a dataType: 'script'. The response is a jquery expression which contains a <%= javascript_escape(render ...) %> erb tag (similar to what the railscasts episode 136 instructs to do). However the end result is that the full text of the render is inserted as if that was the content to be inserted into the page, as text, not as dom elements. Could the fact that the render had some newlines at the beginning be the cause? Dom text: "\n \n &lt;li>....&lt;/li>" I also tried having jQuery just read the response as a script and execute it, and used the prototype-based rjs stuff, same effect, the text is inserted into the dom. Are there any reasons why such a behavior would be experienced? A bit of clarification: My response.js.erb is jQuery("#content").append("<%= escape_javascript(render(:partial => "widgets")) %>"); jQuery("#information").text("Finally, something happened!"); The full text inside the append() call is inserted as text into #content.

    I am programmatically updating the DOM on a WebKit webview via DOMElement objects - for complex UI, there is usually a javascript component to any element that I add. This begs the need to be notified when the updates complete -- is there any such event? I know regular divs dont fire an onload or onready event, correct? The other assumption I had, which may be totally wrong, is that DOMElement updates aren't synchronous, so I can't do something like this and be confident it will meet with the label actually in the DOM: DOMElement *displayNameLabel = [document createElement:@"div"]; [displayNameLabel setAttribute:@"class" value:@"user-display-name"]; [displayNameLabel setTextContent:currentAvatar.avatarData.displayName]; [[document getElementById:@"user-card-content"] appendChild:displayNameLabel]; id win = [webView windowScriptObject]; [win evaluateWebScript:@"javascriptInstantiateLabel()"]; Is this true? I am using jquery within the body of the html already, so I don't mind subscribing to a particular classes set of events via "live." And dom of all list will be change although second and third list not displayed I see one option. Create one main store and create separate stores for each views. And when view show fill it store from Main store. But it look not good. Any other ideas?

I can create a new feed in Jekyll by building an atom page in XML with a bit of Liquid code, like this The trouble is, the location of the new feed is http://carlboettiger.info/atom.xml, while the old feed from the wordpress site is http://carlboettiger.info/feed, with no extension. how can I configure the Jekyll-created feed such that followers who have pointed their readers to the old feed address from wordpress will start to get the new content?
