• How to deal with routing when developing a custom CMS in Codeigniter

  Hi All - I’m a recent user of Codeigniter and am developing a simple backend CMS to manage pages. Based on a URL (in this example I have hidden “index.php”) : mysite.com/pagename I would like the system to detect if there is a value of “pagename” in my database, if there is, I need the system to re-route to a custom controller (eg: Pagemaker) and if there is no record called pagename, just do it’s normal thing (i.e. find a controller called pagename) Currently I have: $route['(:any)'] = "pagemaker/create/$1"; whereby all requests are forwarded to my custom function. However I want to change this structure so that if the page does NOT exist in the db, the traditional codeigniter request process is followed. Can anyone offer any advice about how to complete this? Or any advice about routing custom CMS’s in codeigniter in general?

  I want the ability add properties and tags to a file (specifically ebook files and ebook related properties in Windows 7 but interested to go so for as many OSes as possible) For e.g. Example.txt or Example.doc or Example.epub should all store and carry properties like 'Author', 'Publication date', 'Tags' etc.. the properties should be stored with the file itself. Such that if it is transferred to another system it retains the properties (even if i need to install 'my app' to support this function on the other machine) How do I make this possible using .net (preferred) and what file system concepts should I learn to understand the underlying concepts and limitations to be able to implement this feature? Any application that already does this? Thank you

• jquery - strange behavior in IE..

  I have an input field where name='id' <input type='hidden' name="id" /> While jquery lib works fine in Chrome, it fails in IE. It works when I change from id to idfield - but our server code breaks since it expects the form with element key id. Is there a work around for this? • need help with acts_as_ferret and will_paginate to play nice together

  I have installed will_paginate and acts_as_ferret on my system for ruby rails. My paginate seems to work fine before installing acts_as_ferret. When I put in the code to do searching I get the following error: NoMethodError in Community#search Showing app/views/community/_result_summary.rhtml where line #3 raised: undefined method `total_entries' for []:Array Extracted source (around line #3): 1: <% if @users %> 2: <p> 3: Found <%= pluralize(@users.total_entries, "match") %>. 4: </p> 5: <% end %> If I take out the search function, paginate works but it's pointless because I can't do searches. • this.optional() in jQuery validation method doesn't seem to work

  Hello, I've got a little problem here. I've got the following rule for one of my fields: StartDate: { required: isDelayed, dateRU: true } isDelayed() returns false, so I guess StartDate field should be optional. However if I check it inside my dateRU method: $.validator.addMethod( "dateRU", function(value, element) { return this.optional(element) || isValidDate($.trim(value)); }, "Date is incorrect" ); this.optional(element) always returns false for StartDate. I can't figure out what's wrong. Any ideas? UPD. Does optional() returns true only if element is not required AND IS EMPTY? 'Cause that may be my problem.

• Why can't I reclaim my dynamically allocated memory using the "delete" keyword?

  I have the following class: class Patient { public: Patient(int x); ~Patient(); private: int* RP; }; Patient::Patient(int x) { RP = new int [x]; } Patient::~Patient() { delete [] RP; } I create an instance of this class on the stack as follows: void f() { Patient p(10); } Now, when f() returns, I get a "double free or corruption" error, which signals to me that something is attempted to be deleted more than once. But I don't understand why that would be so. The space for the array is created on the heap, and just because the function from inside which the space was allocated returns, I wouldn't expect the space to be reclaimed. I thought that if I allocate space on the heap (using the new keyword), then the only way to reclaim that space is to use the delete keyword. Help! :)

• Sending email from Drupal contact form, but GMail marks it as "Forged"

  Hi, My Drupal site sends email to a GMail account, but the emails sent all go into the Spam folder, and GMail puts up a bar with the message "This message was likely forged and did not originate from your account." Although I can create a filter to prevent them going to Spam, I want to start sending newsletters, and I suspect they'll have the same problem. I suspect the problem is with the way I've set up either PHP or Drupal to send mail. As far as I know it's just using the sendmail function. I've set the from address to "info@..." where ... is the site domain. Any tips on how I can make set up my outgoing mail so it won't be refused by GMail (and presumably other major mail providers)?   I'm trying to understand type patterns and generic classes in Haskell but can't seem to get it. Could someone explain it in laymen's terms? In [1] I've read that "To apply functions generically to all data types, we view data types in a uniform manner: except for basic predefined types such as Float, IO, and ?, every Haskell data type can be viewed as a labeled sum of possibly labeled products." and then Unit, :*: and :+: are mentioned. Are all data types in Haskell automatically versions of the above mentioned and if so how do I figure out how a specific data type is represented in terms of :*:, etc? The users guide for generic classes (ch. 7.16) at haskell.org doesn't mention the predefined types but shouldn't they be handled in every function if the type patterns should be exhaustive? I see that reorder takes a vector, and I'm here using a matrix. My real data has one character vector and another as a data.frame. I figured that the data structure would not matter too much for this example above, I just need help with the syntax and can adapt it to my real problem.

• IO completion port key confusion

  I'm writing an IO completion port based server (source code here) using the Windows DLL API in Python using the ctypes module. But this is a pretty direct usage of the API and this question is directed at those who have a knowledge of IOCP, not Python. As I understand the documentation for CreateIoCompletionPort, you specify your "user defined" completion key when you call this function with a file handle (in my case a socket) you are associating with the created IOCP. When you get around to calling GetQueuedCompletionStatus, you get a completion key value along with a pointer to an overlapped object. The completion key should identify what overlapped object and request has completed. However, let's say I pass in 100 as the completion key in my CreateIoCompletionPort call with an overlapped object. When the same overlapped object has its IO completed and it arrives back through GetQueuedCompletionStatus, the completion key that accompanies it is much larger and bares no resemblance to the original value of 100. Am I misunderstanding how the completion key works, or must I be doing it wrong in the source code I linked above?

• Changes to the User Permissions Not saving

  I am use drupal 6. it seems like permission page can not save too many settings. I have try to save permission setting, but it is just not saved into DB. I have found out this is due to "too many fields". (use content permission module). if i uncheck some fields, and then checking lesser fields, permission will be saved. for example, if I am unchecking 2 check boxes, then checking one check box, permission will be saved. does any one know which function the permission page used to insert result into db? my php memory limit is 256M.

• How to prevent Spell checking code in MS Office?

  We use MS Office. Outlook for emails, Word for some documentation and I use OneNote a lot for my own note taking. What bugs me is when I drop some code or use key words or even camel case into these apps the spell checking picks them up and I have red squiggles everywhere. Ignore is pretty much useless, so either I have to turn off Spell Check altogether start adding these to the custom dictionary. What would be good is if I can use the Set Language function to mark a whole block of text to just not be spell checked. Has anyone found a nice solution to this or do you know of a blank dictionary is best to use? I found using "Mohawk" kind of does that... might just use that for now. Maybe create a macro to switch between them.

  Suppose I have a C(++) function taking an integer, and it is bound to (C)python with python api, so I can call it from python: import c_module c_module.f(10) now, I want to parallelize it. The problem is: how does the GIL work in this case? Suppose I have a queue of numbers to be processed, and some workers (threading.Thread) working in parallel, each of them calling c_module.f(number) where number is taken from a queue. The difference with the usual case, when GIL lock the interpreter, is that now you don't need the interpreter to evaluate c_module.f because it is compiled. So the question is: in this case the processing is really parallel?

I have created a grid with 40 x 40 vertex3D (small but useful) I can pick a single vertex out of that grid by simply calling a function with the position array[X][Y], And therefore neighbors too. How can I raise up neighbor vertex Z value so they kinda look like a bubble or sphere kind of thingy? My first tough was to use: Neighbor_vertex.Z = sin(PI/4 * 1 - ( 1/ distance_between_Neighbor_and_Pivot) ) * desired_Max_Height But all I got is something like a wave.... and I would like to have a bubble or Sphere like shape.
