I have a file that I need to "protect" so that it cannot be copied! I am using Python on Windows XP.

Do I need to install .net 2.0 on the device, where .net 3.5 is installed?
So far my application works on .net 2.0 (which potentially should be faster) but the long term plan is to port it to .net 3.5. I need to order devices and the OEM needs to know which version of .net should be add to Windows CE image (version 5.0). Shall I ask him to add both .net 2.0 and .net 3.5 ?
I'm using the following code to call a TaskDialog.
[DllImport("ComCtl32", CharSet = CharSet.Unicode, PreserveSig = false)]
internal static extern void TaskDialogIndirect(
[In] ref TASKDIALOGCONFIG pTaskConfig,
[Out] out int pnButton,
[Out] out int pnRadioButton,
[Out] out bool pfVerificationFlagChecked);
However, I get the exception "Unable to find an entry point named 'TaskDialogIndirect' in DLL 'ComCtl32'."
I took this code. I am using Windows 7 x64 (RC).
What am I doing wrong?
Hi I need a utility to close server socket handles open by the process, on windows. I cannot use tcpview as it does not close the server socket (ESTABLISHED state). Process explorer comes close with its handle list and "close handle" option, but it only gives the handle path (like \Device\Afd) and if application has open many such sockets I cannot tell which handle I would like to close. Any idea?
I'm using ddkbuild for building my driver.
And I use prefast also.
Prefast has /StackHogThreshold option.
The default value is 1024 Bytes.
But I can't modify the value.
It's my input for 'Rebuild All Command Line'
C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /k "$(SolutionDir)....\ddkbuild.bat" -WIN7WLHA64 -prefast free $(ProjectDir) -cZ
I'm new to CE programming and I have a Marvel device PXA270 with Windows CE 5.0 installed. The device has one usb port.
I wonder if there's ANYTHING I can try to connect a 3G-HDSPA usb stick to it. When plugged it only recognises its folders as a pendrive would do, but no Internet.
Thx.
Hi,
I was just wondering about the functions fopen, fclose, socket and closesocket. When calling fopen or opening a socket, what exactly is happening (especially memory wise)?
Can opening files/sockets without closing them cause memory leaks?
And third, how are sockets created and what do they look like memory wise?
I'm also interrested in the role of the operating system (Windows) in reading the sockets and sending the data.

I am trying to drag and drop a file onto a control in my application. The problem is that when you hold the mouse button down (i.e. dragging from widows explorer), my app does not fire any of the form events. They all work fine if the mouse is not down. Is appears that I need to enable the 'AllowDrop' for the application (it is enabled on the form)
What am I missing?

I have been trying to find a way to control my winmo phone from my pc. (HTC S740)
What I want is to be able to call a number from an application, answer the phone from an application and hangup the phone from an application. It should also be able to track how long the ongoing call has been.
Any libraries out there that lets me make such an application with C#?
(The phone is connected to the pc via usb in Windows 7.)

Is there a way to get the session info from a remote windows server (Assuming you have admin credentials). For example, if you open Task Manager and go to the Users tab, that is the info I want...
User
(Session)
ID (Session) Status
Client Name Session (Name)
Programmatic in C# would be best but I could also wrap a cmd line tool.

I'm trying to create some pages in my Windows Phone application without the use of any XAML. Everything is working, however, I'm failing to use NavigationService/ Journal with this approach and all my attempts to utilize it are answered by the usual "No XAML was found at the location {0}'" response. Yes, I can add an almost empty XAML file to get everything working, but is this kind of boiler plate code really necessary?
Is it maybe possible to use the UriMapping to map certain Uris to specific classes instead of *.xaml files?

Hello everyone. I am working on a project that plays audio for part of the program. I would like to be able to display a message if the user's system volume is muted. I am using Python on Windows.
Hi,
I started to use SysInternals suite, and it is great. But I wonder, whether there is any analog of TCPvcon, which allows to logon to remote machine, like psexec does, and then get list of TCP connections from there (similar to pslist functionality), and then to close some of connections (similar to pskill functionality).
I am speaking about windows console tools and I would like to avoid installing something on remote machine is this is possible.
My question is pretty simple: does hosting a website on Windows Azure, require 24 "compute" hours per day?
That is, what would it cost me to host a website for a month, storing 1GB data, with 1GB transferred out per month?
I understand the data and message pricing model, but is just having a site up there (on Azure) going to cost me $0.12/hr?
