    I get this error when I try to import ssrc.spread: ImportError: dlopen(/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/lib/python2.6/site-packages/ssrc/_spread.so, 2): Symbol not found: __ZN17ssrcspread_v1_0_67Mailbox11ZeroTimeoutE The file in question (_spread.so) includes the symbol: $ nm _spread.so | grep _ZN17ssrcspread_v1_0_67Mailbox11ZeroTimeoutE U __ZN17ssrcspread_v1_0_67Mailbox11ZeroTimeoutE U __ZN17ssrcspread_v1_0_67Mailbox11ZeroTimeoutE (twice because the file is a fat ppc/x86 binary) EDIT: okay, as James points out, the U means that the symbol is undefined but required by the object file.   • TortoiseSVN lists files as modified, but they are identical

    I am merging a hot fix from our QA branch back into our Dev branch. Five files have changed. I do a fresh checkout of the Dev branch. I then do a merge (range of revisions) from QA into the Dev working copy. It brings in five files and there is a conflict on an external and ignore property -- which I resolve by "using local" (dev). When I check modifications or commit, I expect to see the five files I merged as the only changes. However, I get close to 700 "modified" files showing up in the commit dialog. If I select one of these file and "Compare with base," WinMerge comes up and says the "files are identical." I have tried this with the file dates set to "last committed" and not. Why are all of these files showing up as modified, when they are identical? What in the merge is causing this? How do I prevent SVN/TortoiseSVN from getting confused this way in the future?

  • How do I configure multiple Ubuntu Python installations to avoid App Engine's SSL error?

    I have Karmic Koala which has Python 2.6 installed by default. However I can't run any Python App Engine projects because they require Python 2.5 and python ssl. To install ssl I installed python2.5-dev first while following some instructions I found elsewhere. sudo apt-get install libssl-dev sudo apt-get install python-setuptools sudo apt-get install python2.5-dev sudo easy_install-2.5 pyopenssl However, I am afraid this is not good for my Ubuntu installation since Ubuntu expects to see version 2.6 of Python when you type 'python' on the command line. Instead, it says '2.5.5'. I tried to revert to the original default version of Python by doing this: sudo apt-get remove python2.5-dev But that didn't seem to do anything either - when I type 'python' on the command line it still say 2.5.5. And App Engine still doesn't work after all this. I continue to get an SSL-related error whenever I try to run my Python app: AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'HTTPSHandler' UPDATE: Just checked whether SSL actually installed as a result of those commands by typing this: $ python2.5 Python 2.5.5 (r255:77872, Apr 29 2010, 23:59:20) [GCC 4.4.1] on linux2 Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information. >>> import ssl Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> ImportError: No module named ssl >>> As you can see, SSL is still not installed, which explains the continuing App Engine error. If anyone knows how I can dig myself out of this hole, I would appreciate it.

  • JVM to ignore certificate name mismatch

    I know there were a lot of questions/answers about how to ignore SSL error in the code. On our dev region dev.domain.tld we have configured a app server over SSL. The certificate that is displayed is for somedev.domain.tld. There is no way to change the certificate, it will always be a domain mismatch. So when I deploy a web-service to https://dev.domain.tld and try to connect/call my webservice I get an exception: Caused by: java.security.cert.CertificateException: No name matching dev.domain.tld found And I have the somedev.domain.tld CERT in my trust store. Now, I saw a lot of samples how to change that in the code (using a Trust Manager that accepts all domains), but how do I specify to the JVM to ignore the domain mismatch when connecting to the server? Is there a -Djavax.net.ssl argument or something? Thank you! UPDATE: Or, since I am using Spring-WS, is there a way to set some property in Spring for that? (WebServiceTemplate) UPDATE I guess I'll have to do use something from Spring Security: http://static.springsource.org/spring-ws/sites/1.5/reference/html/security.html

  • Code promotion: Enforcing the rules

    So here is our problem: We have a small team of developers with their own ways of doing things-- I am trying to formalize a process in which we are required to promote our code in the following order: Local sandbox Dev UAT Staging Live Developers develop/test as they go on their own sandbox, Dev is its own box that we would use for continuous integration, UAT is another site in IIS on the dev box, which uses our dev database. We then promote to staging, which is a site in IIS on the Live box and using live data (just like the live, hence staging). Then, finally, we promote to live. Here are a few of my questions: 1.) Does this seem to be best practice? If not, what needs to be done differently? 2.) How do I enforce the rules to the developers? Often developers skip steps in order to save time... this should not be tolerated and would be great if it could be physically enforced. 3.) How do I enforce these rules to the business group? The business group just wants to get features out FAST. Do we promote only on certain days? Thanks! Josh

  • Suspend not working after kernel update on an HP Envy14 1050

    I just update ubuntu 12.04 to the kernel 3.2.0-30 and together with it a lot of packeges in the system. I am running it on an HP Envy14 1050. When I first made a fresh install of the clean ubuntu 12.04 I had the problem that when restoring from suspend the screen was black, although some backlight was there. I could fix it following this https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/989674/comments/20. Now, after the update the black screen after suspend has reappeared but with no backlight at all and the led in the caps lock key blinking. The laptop is using a ATI radeon 5600 with the privative drivers. During the update process there was an error with depmod . You can see the /var/log/dist-upgrade/apt-term.log file at the end. UPDATE: suspend is not working at all. The problem is not when restoring from suspend, but when I try to suspend the system it gets blocked and the fan running. Only option is to press power button.     I'm trying to serialize two NSMutableArrays of NSObjects that implement the NSCoding protocol. However it works for one (stacks) and not the other (cards). I have the following block of code: -(void) saveCards { NSArray* paths = NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES); NSString* documentsDirectory = [paths objectAtIndex:0]; NSString* cardsFile = [documentsDirectory stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"cards.state"]; NSString* stacksFile = [documentsDirectory stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"stacks.state"]; BOOL c = [rootStack.cards writeToFile:cardsFile atomically:YES]; BOOL s = [rootStack.stacks writeToFile:stacksFile atomically:YES]; } I step through this method using the debugger, and after the last two lines of code run, I check the values of the two BOOLs. BOOL c is NO and BOOL s is YES. The stacks array is actually empty (which is probably why it works). The cards array has contents. Why is it that the array with contents is failing? I can't figure this out. I've looked through numerous threads on SOF, each of them say the problem is because the protection level of the files they were writing were preventing them from writing. This is not my problem, as I'm writing to the Documents folder. I've double and tripple checked that neither rootStack.cards nor rootStack.stacks is nil. And I've checked that cards does indeed have content.     In my code I quickly generate images on the fly, and I want to display them as quickly as possible. So the first time I create my image, I create a new BITMAP, but instead of deleting the old one and creating a new one for every subsequent image, I just want to copy my data back into the existing one. Is it good practace to name the pattern on the class name? B - Is it good to call the concrete entities of my DAL layer classes "Repositories" e.g. "EmployeeRepository" ? C - Is using the repositories in this way sensible or should I create a method on the repository itself to take, say, the Employee and then load the data from there e.g. EmployeeRepository.LoadAllEmployeeData(Employee employee)? I am aim for cohesive class and but this will requrie the repository to have knowledge of the Employee object which may not be good? D - Is there any nice way around of not having to check if an object is null at the begining of each method? E - I have a EmployeeRepository, TaxRepository, AccountRepository declared as public for unit testing purpose. These are really private enities but I need to be able to substitute these with stubs so that the won't write to my database(I overload the save() method to do nothing). Is there anyway around this or do I have to expose them? F - How can I test the private methods - or is this done (something tells me it's not)? G- "emps.Name = employee.EmployeeDetails.PersonalDetails.Active.Names.FirstName;" this breaks the Law of Demeter but how do I adjust my objects to abide by the law?

    I'm trying to return a Sytem.IntPtr from a service call so that the client can use impersonation to call some code. My imersonation code works properly if not passing the token back from a WCF service. I'm not sure why this is not working. I get the following error: "Invalid token for impersonation - it cannot be duplicated."   • How to Access a decendant object's internal method in C#

    I'm trying to access a method that is marked as internal in the parent class (in its own assembly) in an object that inherits from the same parent. Let me explain what I'm trying to do... I want to create Service classes that return IEnumberable with an underlying List to non-Service classes (e.g. the UI) and optionally return an IEnumerable with an underlying IQueryable to other services. I wrote some sample code to demonstrate what I'm trying to accomplish, shown below. The example is not real life, so please remember that when commenting. All services would inherit from something like this (only relevant code shown): public class ServiceBase<T> { protected readonly ObjectContext _context; protected string _setName = String.Empty; public ServiceBase(ObjectContext context) { _context = context; } public IEnumerable<T> GetAll() { return GetAll(false); } //These are not the correct access modifiers.. I want something //that is accessible to children classes AND between descendant classes internal protected IEnumerable<T> GetAll(bool returnQueryable) { var query = _context.CreateQuery<T>(GetSetName()); if(returnQueryable) { return query; } else { return query.ToList(); } } private string GetSetName() { //Some code... return _setName; } } Inherited services would look like this: public class EmployeeService : ServiceBase<Employees> { public EmployeeService(ObjectContext context) : base(context) { } } public class DepartmentService : ServiceBase<Departments> { private readonly EmployeeService _employeeService; public DepartmentService(ObjectContext context, EmployeeService employeeService) : base(context) { _employeeService = employeeService; } public IList<Departments> DoSomethingWithEmployees(string lastName) { //won't work because method with this signature is not visible to this class var emps = _employeeService.GetAll(true); //more code... } } Because the parent class lives is reusable, it would live in a different assembly than the child services. With GetAll(bool returnQueryable) being marked internal, the children would not be able to see each other's GetAll(bool) method, just the public GetAll() method. I know that I can add a new internal GetAll method to each service (or perhaps an intermediary parent class within the same assembly) so that each child service within the assembly can see each other's method; but it seems unnecessary since the functionality is already available in the parent class. For example: internal IEnumerable<Employees> GetAll(bool returnIQueryable) { return base.GetAll(returnIQueryable); } Essentially what I want is for services to be able to access other service methods as IQueryable so that they can further refine the uncommitted results, while everyone else gets plain old lists. Any ideas?

  • UITableView Question. How do I preselect a tableView cell?

    I assumed that the correct way to preselect a cell in a table view was: - (void)selectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath animated:(BOOL)animated scrollPosition:(UITableViewScrollPosition)scrollPosition However it does absolutely nothing. Nadda. For context I am building an iPad app and the tableview is deployed from a Popover ViewController. So the tableView is only visible when deployed. I am currently calling the above method in: - (void)viewDidAppear:(BOOL)animated; Any thoughts? Thanks, Doug

    In the following example In [8]: import numpy as np In [9]: strings = np.array(['hello ', 'world '], dtype='|S10') In [10]: strings == 'hello' Out[10]: array([False, False], dtype=bool) The comparison fails because of the whitespace. Is there a Numpy built-in function that does the equivalent of In [12]: np.array([x.strip()=='hello' for x in strings]) Out[12]: array([ True, False], dtype=bool) which does give the correct result?
