  • Microsoft Report Viewer Control not displaying report

    I have built a simple report and run it successfully in test winform apps but when I try to run the same report in my production winforms application, the report just doesn't show up in the viewer. I look at the ReportViewer control after InitializeComponent and everything looks fine. Are there debugging techniques or gotcha's that might be able to point me to why the report is not showing. It feels like there should be an error of some sort but it just displays a blank form.

  • Problem getting started with GeoDjango

    As soon as I add "from django.contrib.gis.db import models" instead of "from django.db import models", Django stops recognizing the app and gives this error: Error: App with label location could not be found. Are you sure your INSTALLED_APPS setting is correct? The error goes away as soon as I comment out "from django.contrib.gis.db import models"... I have added "django.contrib.gis" and the "location" app to the INSTALLED_APPS setting correctly. Any clues why this is happening? I am running using Django v1.1.1 final, on my windows laptop.

  • Read nested Lua table who key is a System.Double

    Using C# and LuaInterface, I am trying to read a nested table, but am getting a null LuaTable when I try to open the key containing the table. The .lua file: DB = { ["inventory"] = { [10001] = { ["row"] = 140, ["count"] = 20, }, [10021] = { ["row"] = 83, ["count"] = 3, }, [10075] = { ["row"] = 927, ["count"] = 15, }, } } I can successfully foreach the entries under inventory, by opening that table with: LuaTable tbl = lua.GetTable("DB.inventory"); foreach (DictionaryEntry de in tbl) ... What I cannot do is open an inventory item and enumerate its entries the same way. Is this because the key is a System.Double type? This fails: LuaTable tbl = lua.GetTable("DB.inventory.10001"); foreach (DictionaryEntry de in tbl) with an exception, because tbl is null. Effectively, once I enumerate the keys (inventory items), I then want to drill down into the nested table and work with those contents. As you can see, I am not able to get a reference to the nested table the way I am doing it.

Instead, it seems to be a 'cache' mechanism which repopulate the credential and cancel my logout ... Admin BASIC ===^=== null null ===v=== Admin BASIC Is it a problem with my firefox, or something I'm missing in the Servlet code?

    Hi all I'm using an ADO.NET Entity Model which I'm trying to query using LINQ. The problem I'm having is that I can't specify the where clause as I'd like. For instance, consider the following query: AccountsDM db = new AccountsDM(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["PrimaryEF"].ConnectionString); var accounts = from a in db.Accounts select a; foreach (var account in accounts) { foreach (var ident in account.Identifiers) { if (ident.Identifier == identifier) { // ident.Identifier is what I'd like to be filtering in the WHERE clause below } } } Ideally, I'd like that to become: var accounts = from a in db.Accounts where a.Identifiers.Identifier == identifier select a; I'm guessing I've probably not set up my Entity Model correctly in VS2010.   • Generating VS 2005 .vcproj's by hand

    I'm working on a script that generates Visual Studio 2005 C++ project files (.vcproj). The script reads a makefile, then spits out a c++ project. INPUT: makefile --- OUTPUT: VS 2005 c++ project (.vcproj) However, when I try to build the auto-generated project in VS 2005, error outputs: "Unspecified Error." Evidently, I am not generating the VS 2005 .vcproj file correctly. Assuming that my c++ project file was malformed, I opened up VS 2005 and made a new C++ project. I actually copied the good, VS 2005-created project file to my non-working, malformed project file. I replaced the Name, Reference Includes (.libs), Compile Includes (.cc, .c), etc. in the good VS 2005 project with my malformed project file's information. However, I still cannot get VS 2005 to compile my .vcproj. Perhaps VS 2005 is very particular about the content of its .vcproj's? Please give me advice on how to manually generate a VS 2005 .vcproj.   • NSKeyedArchiver save method ( that i made) crashed the iphone simulator

    i saw this approach on a tutorial, and the message is working for their example but when i implement this it does not work. from what i can tell the iphone simulator crashes when i do a [ self saveSettingsData]. TheSettings is class object that i declare and initialize in the appdelagate with these methods. the error says terminating due to uncaught exception. i am new to the iphone sdk and objective, so i really can't figure out what is going on thanks to any one who can help, i am ready to literally pull my hair out.   • My presentation layer does not match my model layer even though I have no animations

    On iPhone I have a CALayer that I animate via Core Animation. Then at some point I change view controllers. I then return to the view controller with the CALayer and in viewWillAppear: I set the frame and position properties on my layer to move it back to its starting point. Setting these properties changes the model layer but the presentation layer still has the old values and its presentation layer does not update until the next animation I play. In the CA Programming guide it says "You can query an instance of CALayer for its corresponding presentation layer while an animation transaction is in process." Which, to me, implies that the presentation layer should only be different from the model layer during an animation. But there are no animations currently running. I even used kCATransactionDisableActions to ensure that when I set the position property an implicit animation is not started. Does anyone know why my presentation and model layers are out of sync?   • ActiveMerchant - Optimal method of sending money to user? PayPal account or Credit

    I have a website that will take payments from user A, hold them in our escrow account, then transfer the money minus a fee to user B. I have the first part figured out, in terms of taking credit card payments from user A, but I'm trying to figure out the optimal method of taking that money and sending it to user B. I'm not storing credit card info due to privacy and I don't mind requiring user B to sign up for a PayPal account if they're going to use the system but I don't know how to directly send payments to a PayPal account. I'm using ActiveMerchant and the PayPal gateway on Rails 2.3.5. I'm also open to any suggestions as to what the optimal method is to take money from user A, hold it for 1-60 days, then transfer it to user B while incurring minimal fees and something I can implement in Rails hopefully that won't cause me to have an aneurysm.

    Hi, I have an OneToOne relationship between my models Account and Company the table names are Accounts and Companies respectively. Here is a brief screenshot of the structure: http://cl.ly/1AEU Everything works well, but mysteriously when I use the OneToOne associations I have accessors like: var db = new DB(); var account = db.Accounts.First(); var company = account.Companies; // note the plural not the singular accessor So, what's happing is that even if using OneToOne association, I still get the plural accessor with "companies" and not "company", if it this is a pure object representation and not an EntitySet generated in case when it s an oneToMany relationship. Is there a way to get this nomenclature to be applied properly? Thanks a lot

I can manually parse the .csv file, but I was wondering if it is possible to somehow "describe" the .csv file to Visual Studio so that I can use it as a data source? I should mention that the first two lines in the .csv file contain header information and the following lines are the actual comma-delimited data.

Let's say I have a Table Products with ProductID, Name, Category, and Price as columns : 1) IQueryable<Product public IQueryable<Product> GetChildrenProducts() { return (from pd in db.Products where pd.Category == "Children" select pd); } 2) Product public Product GetProduct(int id) { return (from pd in db.Products where pd.ProductID == id select pd).FirstOrDefault(); } Now, if I decide to select, for instance, only one column (Price or Name) or even 2 or 3 columns (Name and Price), but in any case, less than the 4 columns, what's going to be the return type? I mean this: public returnType GetSomeInformation() { return (from pd in db.Products select new { pd.Name, pd.Price } } What SHOULD BE the returnType for the GetSomeInformation()? Thanks for helping

  • Obfuscating Geocode results to protect privacy?

    I have an app that finds other users within a 20 mile radius on a google map and associates an icon with each of them. However, I do not want their exact points to be given but rather an approximation. I've wrestled with a few ideas on how to do this: Only Geocode the Zip Code, make graphic icons for 1-99, use the icon to represent how many results are within the zip code, and use the info window to show hyperlinks to the individual results. The only problem is, I'd like each individual icon to be shown because it just looks a lot better. Add/Subtract a random number to the lat/lng values stored with each user and add a translucent circle around the icon. What do you guys suggest?

  • Why does Visual Studio sometimes add a number when creating page events in codebehinds?

    When writing up a codebehind in Visual Studio for ASP.NET web forms applications, I often use the dropdowns at the top of the window to autogenerate page event handlers (e.g. Page_Load, Page_PreRender). I've noticed that sometimes Visual Studio likes to add numbers to these function names like "Page_Load1" or "Page_PreRender2". Programatically speaking, this has no effect on the code. But stylistically, I find it a bit ugly. Is there any way to get rid of this behavior?

  • Binding Many-to-Many Core Data relationships in UI

    Basically my setup is this. I have a many-to-many relationship in Core Data where a student entity can have multiple courses, and a course entity can have multiple students. My problem is in trying to figure out how to bind this relationship to the UI in Interface Builder. I want to be able to add courses to a course array controller, then have those courses displayed in a popup menu in a NSTableView in the Edit Student window where you can add courses to a student.     The question is entitled with the word "Stream" because the question below is a concrete example of a more generic doubt I have about Streams: I have a problem that accepts two solutions and I want to know the best one: I download a file, save it to disk (2 min), read it and write the contents to the DB (+ 2 min). I download a file and write the contents directly to the DB (3 min). If the write to DB fails I'll have to download again in the second case, but not in the first case. Which is best? Which would you use?

    This is more of a thought i had awhile rather than an actual problem to solve, maybe more a discussion, but i was wondering if it would be possible to design the game of solitaire and be abkle to play it in the python GUI or some other form of iterface? I know you can get a deck of cards fairly easily and i know yuo can play simple games like snap and so on but i thought solitaire would be more challenging and fun because there is alot more logic behind it than just laying out the cards randomly. Any ideas? (I would be intrested to hear about or see any solutions if anyone had any links etc..)

    WARNING: Lengthy description coming up! I have written an uploader based upon APC progress uploader for PHP. This works fine and dandy, but the script as a whole (apc etc) is intended to be used only for those with Javascript. To achieve this, I have searched for any input type=file, and replaced these with an absolutely positioned form that appears over the original area where the old file input area was. The reasons for this are so the new uploader can submit to a hidden in page IFrame has to be in a seperate <form> in order to submit to the APC reciever to display the progress upload bar. allows it to be used within any form with an input type=file throughout the site I have used JQuery to do this, with the following code: Original HTML form code: <div><input type="file" name="media" id="media" /></div> Find position of div block code: // get the parent div, and properties thereof parentDiv = $(this).closest('div'); w = $(parentDiv).width(); h = $(parentDiv).height(); loc = $(parentDiv).offset(); Locate new block over old block: $('#_sender').appendTo('body').css({left:loc.left,top:loc.top,position:'absolute',zIndex:400,height:h,width:w}).show(); This works fine, and shows over the old block OK. The problem: When other elements in the DOM before or above it change (in this case a "tree view" selector is pushing the old block down) the new upload form gets moved over other elements. Is there a JQuery (or JS) method for changing this upon DOM change? Some kind of .onchange for the page?! Or an .onmove for the original block?
