• Recent EC Meetings - RIM forfeits EC seat

  Materials and minutes from the JCP EC Face-to-Face Meeting, held September 2012 in Prague, are now available on the EC Meeting Summaries page.  Topics included JCP.Next, a JCP 2.8 progress report, Inactive JSRs, and two Spec Lead presentations. In October 2011, new EC Standing Rules went into effect. The Rules include the following: "Missing five meetings in a row, or missing more than two-thirds of all meetings in any consecutive twelve-month period, results in loss of EC membership."  Last week, the JCP EC met for their October EC teleconference meeting.  RIM missed this meeting, and has now missed five meetings in a row (see the attendance chart); therefore, RIM has forfeited their EC membership. Results from the 2012 EC Elections will be available on 30 October.  The new merged EC will go into effect on 12 November.

• NASCIO Award for NetBeans Platform Legislative Software

  Two days ago, 23 October 2012, the Kansas Legislative Information System and Services (KLISS) was awarded the 2012 NASCIO Award for Open Government at the NASCIO annual State IT Recognition awards. KLISS is developed by Propylon in partnership with the executive and legislative branches of the Kansas Government involving a complete overhaul of the Legislature's IT systems. • How to compare page views/visitors to site totals in Google Analytics?

  I want to measure the effects in total traffic (views or visitors) of a single URL across a time frame. For example, let's say I published a blog post on July 2012. I want to measure what chunk of the site's total traffic is coming to this particular post on a month-by-month graph from July 2012 to date. Is there a way to do this? Edit: I should clarify that what I'd like to do is to generate a month-to-month graph, similar to the one you can see comparing a metric on a period of time against the previous equivalent period (year vs last year, for example) but comparing a particular URL traffic to the site's total traffic. In other words, I can get to the part where I can see the URL's traffic for the timeframe I selected and it shows how much of the total traffic corresponds to the current URL: But I'd like to add a second line to the graph, representing the site's total pageviews, similiar to this (but this one is showing just a different metric for the same URL): Thanks!

  I have an issue where I am unable to use JSON, which would appear to be because of the following error. There is another thread on this forum this touches on a similar issue, but it's not quite the same. • Email with extra '.com' behind sender email address

  Currently I had a situation where I sent an email to [email protected], but when I receive mail from [email protected], it showed as [email protected], with extra '.com' behind the email address, this just happen within this week. Before this, I didn't change any setting, currently I am using Outlook 2010. When I checked the email in webmail, it also showed it as [email protected]. It seem that it has nothing to do with Outlook. However, I also tried on Thunderbird 16.0.1, but still the problem is the same. Has anyone experienced this before? Is the problem caused by the sender or receiver? • Have set Expiration time: Still getting "Query string present but no explicit expiration time"

  I have one local Apache instance running with mod_cache (+ disk & mem) enabled, and it seems to cache content from my appserver fine. My app server sets Expiration headers and Last-modified. Yet, when deploying on a production server with the same modules enabled, I am getting the following error in my logs: blablabla not cached. Reason: Query string present but no explicit expiration time Any clues on why Apache is not caching content? The only difference is the Apache version. Locally I am running 2.2. • How to remove a plain text protecting single quote from all the selected cells in LibreOffice Calc?

  I've imported a CSV file having the first column to be date-time values in ISO 8601 format like 2012-01-01T00:00:00.000Z for the first moment of the year 2012. Then, willing to make LibreOffice to recognize the format (as I was looking forward to plot a diagram), I've selected the column, chosen Format Cells... and entered the custom time format as YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SS.000Z And this seems to work if... I edit a cell to remove a hidden single-quote from its beginning (which serves to protect a cell content from being interpreted) as all the newly formatted cells now store values like '2012-01-01T00:00:00.000Z (note the single quote - it is only visible when you edit a particular cell). And I am to do so for all the cells in the column. How can I automate this? UPDATE: I've already found a solution for the particular case of mine: it helps to set a column format to "time" in the CSV import dialogue. But I am still curious how could this be done in case I wouldn't have the original .csv data file to import but only the .ods file with the data already imported without the format specified at the import time.

• Why apache doesn't restart after configuring SSL?

  I've installed apache2 and then configure it to work with SSL following this and this tutorials, the problem becomes when I try to restart the service, the following error throws: (98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:443 no listening sockets available, shutting down Unable to open logs the output of netstat -anp | grep 443 just display firefox listening and anything else, how could I solve this and get the service running?? • Problems sending email using .Net's SmtpClient

  I've been looking through questions on Stackoverflow and Serverfault but haven't found the same problem mentioned - though that may be because I just don't know enough about how email works to understand that some of the questions are really the same as mine ... here's my situation: I have a web application that uses .Net's SmtpClient to send email. The configuration of the SmtpClient uses a smtp server, username and password. The SmtpClient code executes on a server that has an ip address not in the domain the smtp server is in. In most cases the emails go without a problem - but not AOL (and maybe others - but that is one we know for sure right now). When I look at the headers in the message that was kicked back from AOL it has one less line than the successful messages hotmail gets: AOL Bad Message: Received: from WEBSVRNAME ([##.###.###.###]) by domainofsmtp.com with MailEnable ESMTP; Mon, 18 Jun 2012 09:48:24 -0500 MIME-Version: 1.0 From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> ... I'm confused as to why the Web server's name and ip address are even in the headers since I thought I was using the SmtpClient to go through the smtp server (hence the need for the username and password of a valid email box). I've read about SPFs, DKIM and SenderID's but at this point I'm not sure if I would need to do something with the web server (and its ip/domain) or the domain the smtp is coming from. Has anyone had to do anything similiar before? Am I using the smtp server as a relay? Any help on how to describe what I'm doing would also help.

• OS X Apache giving 503 error for anything in /api directory

  I have a locally hosted website that uses Smarty templates, I'm trying to get started on building an API for the site. I've used virtualhost.sh to create a local virtual host for this and other sites. I've discovered that if I put a directory called api at the root of any of these virtual hosts I will get a 503 error when I try to access anything inside. I am using mod-rewrite but so far only to append a .php extension when needed. Here are the error logs for a request: [Thu Feb 09 13:42:37 2012] [error] proxy: HTTP: disabled connection for (localhost) [Thu Feb 09 13:49:06 2012] [error] (61)Connection refused: proxy: HTTP: attempt to connect to [fe80::1]:8080 (localhost) failed [Thu Feb 09 13:49:06 2012] [error] ap_proxy_connect_backend disabling worker for (localhost) The middle line gave me a clue to look in my hosts file because why would a request go to [fe80::1]:8080? I commented out that line and tried again, this time the error was in connecting to the standard 127.0.0.1 localhost. I have concluded that perhaps there is some config file somewhere picking up the underlying request of localhost/api and pointing it somewhere other than my virtual host. At this point my ability to fix the problem fails me. Can anyone help?

• Git push over http (using git-http-backend) and Apache is not working

  I have desperately been trying to get push for git working through the "smart-http" mode using git-http-backend. However after many hours of testing and troubleshooting, I am still left with error: Cannot access URL http://localhost/git/hello.git/, return code 22 fatal: git-http-push failed` I am using latest versions of Ubuntu (12.04), Apache2 (2.2.22) and Git (1.7.9.5) and have followed different tutorials found on the Internet, like this one http://www.parallelsymmetry.com/howto/git.jsp. • FTP Server on Centos 5.8 - Transfer fails randomly

  Hi have ProFTPD runningon a brand new CentOS 5.8 server with Plesk, and its behaviour is inconsistent at best. I tried to transfer a directory from my PC, and every time I get a transfer failed on a random file. It's never the same one that fails, it just fails. Sometimes it's a .gif, sometimes it's a .css, sometimes it's a JPG. Of several hundred files, a dozen is always failing for no apparent reason. The error that I get is the following: COMMAND:> [27/11/2012 11:43:52] STOR main_border.gif [27/11/2012 11:43:53] 500 Invalid command: try being more creative ERROR:> [27/11/2012 11:43:53] Syntax error: command unrecognized. The above is just an example, the "command unrecognized" occurs with LIST and other commands as well. Thanks in advance for the help. Update Issue experienced with CuteFTP and FileZilla. Update Replaced ProFTPd with PureFTPd, issue persists. Sometimes I get "command unrecognized", sometimes "failed to establish data connection". I'm starting to think that it could be a network issue, but I have completely zero knowledge of networking.
