  • SSRS default renderer strips html tags

    For TFS task work item, I copy a table from ms word 2003/2007 document and paste it into the description field (supports rich text). When the task item is saved, correct formatting is saved in TFS database table. But when the same data is displayed in a SSRs report (through report manager) the formatting is lost. Probably the ssrs rendering engine is stripping off the tags. I have the "HTML-Interpret HTML tags as styles" enabled for the report field. It will be of great help if someone can provide more information on this issue and how it can be handled. Thanks.

But by default this is disabled and I need to force the download box to be prompting. Can I do anything without change a lot of code? Thanks.

  • IE 7 activex object (or xmlhttprequest?) open method using POST takes 20-30 seconds to return

    i have a problem that only shows itself in IE7. its a simple ajax call. i got my object (accounting for the browser) so in 7 i SHOULD have an ActiveXObject. when i call open with POST, it takes 20-30 seconds to return. i am using a TON of GET calls to populate information and all of these work (finally, after some bug fixing), but i am NOT a web developer so much like the other bugs i had to fix, i figured i was just missing another IE anomaly. this is not a consistent bug either, which makes it harder to find for me. most times the POST functions like it does in Firefox or Chrome, but maybe 1 out of 4 or 5 will take 20-30 seconds to return. it DOES return correctly when it returns, it just takes a long time. am i missing something simple? or is there a smarter way for me to find out exactly what is going on (like the equivalent of the firebug 'net' tab for windows?).

    Hello, Is it possible to launch an application from a browser? I am not talking about opening a file from a browser (like open a PDF with Adobe Reader), but rather opening a new (blank) instance of an application that is installed on the user's machine. Hypothetical situation: User browses a website that lists computers that can be managed via RDP. He clicks on a link to 192.168.1.10, that link opens Microsoft RDP client (mstsc.exe) with that ip address already filled out. I am talking strictly about Windows universe. Is that thing even doable outside of ActiveX and IE? Is it wise to attempt this in IE with ActiveX ? Thanks a lot,

  • get rid of red X in IE for non-existing images

    I have a 3rd website (Confluence) which references images which are secured by a login. If the current user is logged in the image is shown if not the image url would redirect to a login form. Example When you enter this url in the browser a redirect to the login page is done. The problem now: IE shows a the dreaded red X icon for the image even though there should be just nothing (like in Firefox). Anyone knows how to get around this?

    Anyone try this simple bit of code in an ie8 browswer and try refreshing the page, in ie8 you will get an error around getelementbyid on refresh.     This is a tall order, but is there a jQuery or Mootools (or other framework) plugin to wrap text around images and support IE6? I've tried the jQSlickWrap, but unless the browser supports HTML 5, you're out of luck. What's strange is that IE 6 supports the jQuery Background Canvas plugin, which uses the CANVAS object (via excanvas.js) just as this plugin does. Thanks.

    I have an example below which has a terms div which has some terms and conditions as content. When the user scroll the div to bottom, then the checkbox is enabled. This is only not working only in IE 7 with IE 7/8/9 standards (I am changing the standard options from Developer window).   • HTTP Handler error when downloading files - SSL

    Ok big problem as this is affecting two projects on our new server. We have a file that is downloaded by users, the files are downloaded using a HTTPHandler. Since moving the site to the server and setting SSL the downloads have stopped working and we get an error message "Unable to download DownloadDocument.ashx" from site". DownloadDocument.ashx is the handler page that is set in the web.config and the button that goes there is a hyperlink with the id of the document as a querystring. Ive read the article on http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316431 and read a few other requests on this site but nothing seems to be working.   • Cloning input type file and set the value

    I know that it isn't possible to set the value of an input type="file" for security reasons... My problem is: I needed to style an input type="file" so what I did was have a button and hide the file input. like: <a href="#" onclick="$('input[name=&quot;photo1&quot;]').click(); return false;" id="photo1-link"></a> <input type="file" name="photo1" class="fileInput jqtranformdone validate[required]" id="photo1" /> These works great in all browsers except IE which gives me an access denied error on submitting through ajax. I'm using the ajaxSubmit jquery plugin (malsup.com/jquery/form/) So after reading for a while I tried to do: var photo1Val = $('#photo1').val(); var clone1 = $('#photo1').clone().val(photo1Val); $('#photo1').remove(); clone1.appendTo('form'); console.log(photo1Val) //prints the right value C:/fakepath/blablabla.jpg $('form').ajaxSubmit(options); The problem is that after this the value of $('#photo1') is empty...     Hi guys, I'm building a dummy widget for a iGoogle/Netvibes like portal. This is a "Google Maps" widget, as it only renders a map centered on a specific location. The widget looks good in all browsers but IE8, in which the height I specify to the <div> that contains the map is not taken into account. Here's the interesting part of the code: <body onload="initialize()" > <div id="map_canvas" style="height:400px; width: 100%;"></div> </body> I have no control on the portal, so the only thing I can modify is the widget itself. I also tried to set the height for the <body>, but same thing. Any idea on why it's not working in IE? Thanks!

  • IWebBrowser2: how to force links to open in new window?

    The MSDN documentation on WebBrowser Customization explains how to prevent new windows from being opened and how to cancel navigation. In my case, my application is hosting an IWebBrowser2 but I don't want the user to navigate to new pages within my app. Instead, I'd like to open all links in a new IE window. The desired behavior is: user clicks a link, and a new window opens with that URL. A similar question was asked and answered here and rather than pollute that answered post, it was suggested I open a new discussion. The members on the related post suggested I should be able to do this by trapping DISPID_BEFORENAVIGATE2, setting the cancel flag, and writing code to open a new window, but I've found out that the browser control gets lots of BeforeNavigate2 events that seem to be initiated by scripts on the main page. For example, amazon.com fires BeforeNavigate2 events like crazy, and they are not a result of link invocation. Replies appreciated!

  • Internet explore is unresponsive while loading a large page

    We have a html page being rendered in the browser (IE) that causes the browser to hang. The page is generated through server side script (ASP.NET and viewstate is disabled). The page while loading takes a long time (its not a b\w issue since we can reproduce it on local machine) and sometimes results in script unresponsive error. On debugging the issue we found that the html size on the client side is 4.73 MB. There's also a lot of DOM traversal (using JQuery) after document is ready (jquery-document.ready). After loading as well, the page simply hangs on any user interaction (scroll, mouseover) etc. A CPU usage spike (25-50% usage) is seen during loading and on any user interaction

I also tried to remove width attribute from the div which contains 2nd background image, then get the windows size and add the difference to the container div as left attribute with Jquery.   • Cannot see response body in ie8 when response http status code is set to some error code(422)

    I am making a requset to a web service that sends custom error with proper HTTP header when I notice some validation error, this works fine in chrome and mozilla as things always do and then it broke in ie8 as it always does! After checking the network activity, I see that ie8 is not able to get response body when HTTP code is other that 200(or at-least it seems so). In groovy I am returning error like : render(status: 422, contentType: 'TEXT', text: ((errors as JSON) as String)) Is there a way I could somehow get ie8 to read in the response body, or as an alternative I might be able to set response header but before trying that I was wondering if you guys have already seen this issue and know a solution to it. When i right click on my unit tests project, test with - Coverage, I obtain the following output: NCover couldn't create a coverage report. and the result: 0 Passed, 0 Failed, 0 Skipped I have no other versions of NCover installed, just the VS and TestDriven .NET The actual testing is performed as expected - all tests successfully pass (so, there's nothing wrong with my class) Does anyone know what could be the problem?

  • Back Button gets Disabled on IE 7,8 for an ASP.NET site

    In an ASP.NET 3.5 website we are noticing that the back button is not working properly. If the user does several postbacks (say 10 times), and than starts pressing back button - the back button gets disabled before the user gets through all the pages. The site does not use AJAX.net. I can reproduce the issue on IE 7 and 8 almost always. The problem seems to be with some sort of limit IE has on History Cache for a given tab/instance. In the tests I did the post request to the server are large - around 83k, and the responses are are round 300k. It seems that with these request sizes the history does not hold more than 4 items. The moment I get to the 5 post, the first item i had selected is dropped.
