We are developing a social website and looking to implement video/audio chat for users (people a user is friends with). Most of the talk from the tech team was to use flash. But I don't want users to install anything. Can video/audio/conferencing be done purely in AJAX? Either develop it from scratch or use open source frameworks if any?
Let's say that I have Microsoft Media Server stream (i.e. mms://[some ip address here]). This stream contains both audio and video. Is it possible to stream this to an Android phone? How would I go about doing this? Preferably with video, but if it is an audio stream only that would also be okay.
Hi! Using Pixel-Bender, it's possible to manipulate audio with effects, mixing channels etc. (http://www.kaourantin.net/2008/10/audio-mixing-with-pixel-bender.html). Could this technique somehow be applied to a video sound track?

I am looking to use ogg vorbis, instead of mp3s to stream audio. It seems that Flash player does not natively support ogg. Is there a codec engine that can be embedded with the app itself that can play .ogg instead of .mp3?
In general, what would be a better format than mp3 for streamingaudio and that is supported by Flash?

Was just wondering how do these sites (and many other softwares that generate flash movies from audio clips,images , docs) work ? how do they compile the media files(audio/image/vid) into a flv movie on the server ? Can the same be done using some open source tech.

I'm working at the audio buffer level, mixing audio signals created by a colleciton of objects. Since I'm looping through these objects at 44.1khz, efficiency is crucial. Is there any difference in the efficiency of iterating over an NSArray vs a C array of pointers? How about NSMutableArray?
I have a uinavigationcontroller with 2 views. In the second view I have some audio playing. When I click the back navigation item on the navigation bar the audio still plays. How do I end the process of anything happening in the second view when the user clicks back to the initial view.

I'm uploading some audio to soundcloud, but would like to add the audio to a specific playlist i have also created, without making an extra request (see "Adding Sounds to a Set" http://developers.soundcloud.com/docs/api/guide#uploading). Is it possible to upload directly to a playlist?
Alternatively, I could send an extra request to add the track to the playlist but how would you do this in AS3. I see examples for JavaScript but am unsure how this would work in Flash.

the problem is, how can i select from this table where name="audio" and value="2.1" and name="hdd" and value="200 gb" and return id_products=13 ....

I'm creating a view with images, videos, audio and documents (books) and I like to shown a picture of each of them in a carousel.
Everything works nicely with images and videos as far as we added a image-thumbnail (image filefield) to their CCK but we like to show a default image for audio and documents without changing the original CCK. Is it possible with imagecache (may be with imagecache_custom_code or views_custom_php) or we need to look for a different approach?

I create my custom WM encoder profile. The reason I need a custom, non
standard WM profile is that I need that the video resolution must be
the same as input video stream. I created below profile but after I
encode my video and audio with it, the WMP while loading says that the
WMV1 codec is not found and prompts me for downloading WM encoder

I am trying to do an app, to where when it launches, it will detect audio, and then play it back automatically. NO BUTTONS, NOthing to press. Just a picture of something then, it listens for audio, then plays it back. Similar to the Talking Carl app in the App Store. Any ideas/help? Would appreciate it, if i could use the code with IB.
