In my InterfaceBuilder (1.3.2) I was able to drag and drop the PSMTabBarControl to my Window and link it with the NSTabView (PSM - tabView - NSTabView && NSTabView - delegate - PSM), but after i tried a Demo (apple+r) I cant see the Tabs... Tried all I can - but dont know why.. Am I doing sth. wrong? Which other Framework or Source I can use to create Tabs like Firefox oder Safari? Thank you!

  • NSSavePanel selecting part of file name

    - by regulus6633
How do I set the part of the file name that is selected in NSSavePanel? I only want the file name selected and not the file extension. Here's what I noticed. If I setAllowedFileTypes: for the save panel then only the file name is selected but not the file extension. However if I don't set the allowed file types then the file extension is selected along with the file name. I don't want to use setAllowedFileTypes but I still want to control the selection so that the file extension is not selected. Can that be done?

  • Updating Label on previously loaded view?

    - by fuzzygoat
I am working on a simple app tab-bar based application that has two views. The first is the main application and the second is a simple instruction screen. What I am trying to do is create a update a label on that second screen as things change in the main app. Because the second screen is only simple with one label and some text I am not unloading it once its loaded. After the first viewDidLoad I can update the label just fine, but after that is there a way to catch successive view switches from the tab-bar menu so I can update the label? many thanks gary

  • problem with NSInputStream on real iPhone

    - by ThamThang
Hi guys, I have a problem with NSInputStream. Here is my code: case NSStreamEventHasBytesAvailable: printf("BYTE AVAILABLE\n"); int len = 0; NSMutableData *data = [[NSMutableData alloc] init]; uint8_t buffer[32768]; if(stream == iStream) { printf("Receiving...\n"); len = [iStream read:buffer maxLength:32768]; [data appendBytes:buffer length:len]; } [iStream close]; I try to read small data and it works perfectly on simulator and real iPhone. If I try to read large data (more than 4kB or maybe 5kB), the real iPhone just can read 2736 bytes and stop. Why is it? Help me plz! Merci d'avance!

  • Strategy to keep track of stored files in the documents directory?

    - by mystify
In my app, the user can save his input to disk. This is done with NSKeyedArchiver. Currently I simply name my files with a timestamp. But of course, the user may want to load one of them back in to keep on editing them. What would be the most reliable / safe strategy to keep track of those files? I need to present the user a list of those files, so that he can choose one to open. Currently I think of making an archived NSMutableArray which simply stores the file names, but I feel that this strategy is not really good. We all know when we save files sometimes something goes wrong, and this seems very likely to get currupted easily, or not? How would you do it?

  • How to call a method of a specific class from another class (created in this specific class) ?

    - by choise
I created a TTModelViewController. in the createModel Method i created a TTURLRequestModel. after Loading content in the TTURLRequestModel i want to call a method in my TTModelViewController. TTModelViewController - (void) createModel { requestModel = [[singlePostModel alloc] initWithId:@"54"]; } - (void)didLoadModel:(BOOL)firstTime { NSLog(@"loaded"); } TTURLRequestModel (singlePostModel) - (void)requestDidFinishLoad:(TTURLRequest*)request { //doing something [super requestDidFinishLoad:request]; } first i thought "didLoadModel" gets called after requestDidFinishLoad was called, but its before. So, how can i call a method in my TTModelViewController after request is finished loading? is there a method that already does that and i only have to overwrite this? or something else? thanks // if knowbody knows how to do this with three20, anybody can tell me how to do this in general?

  • iPhone Debugger Message -- Weird

    - by Bill Shiff
Hello, I have an iPhone app that I've been working on and have recently upgraded my version of XCode. Since the upgrade, I can build and debug in the iPhone Simulator just fine, but when I try to debug on an attached device I get the following messages: From Xcode4: GNU gdb 6.3.50-20050815 (Apple version gdb-1510) (Fri Oct 22 04:12:10 UTC 2010) Copyright 2004 Free Software Foundation, Inc. • Using drawAtPoint with my CIImage not doing anything on screen

    - by Adam
    Stuck again. :( I have the following code crammed into a procedure invoked when I click on a button on my application main window. I'm just trying to tweak a CIIMage and then display the results. At this point I'm not even worried about exactly where / how to display it. I'm just trying to slam it up on the window to make sure my Transform worked. This code seems to work down through the drawAtPoint message. But I never see anything on the screen. What's wrong? Thanks. Also, as far as displaying it in a particular location on the window ... is the best technique to put a frame of some sort on the window, then get the coordinates of that frame and "draw into" that rectangle? Or use a specific control from IB? Or what? Thanks again. // earlier I initialize a NSImage from JPG file on disk. // then create NSBitmapImageRep from the NSImage. This all works fine. // then ... CIImage * inputCIimage = [[CIImage alloc] initWithBitmapImageRep:inputBitmap]; if (inputCIimage == Nil) NSLog(@"could not create CI Image"); else { NSLog (@"CI Image created. working on transform"); CIFilter *transform = [CIFilter filterWithName:@"CIAffineTransform"]; [transform setDefaults]; [transform setValue:inputCIimage forKey:@"inputImage"]; NSAffineTransform *affineTransform = [NSAffineTransform transform]; [affineTransform rotateByDegrees:3]; [transform setValue:affineTransform forKey:@"inputTransform"]; CIImage * myResult = [transform valueForKey:@"outputImage"]; if (myResult == Nil) NSLog(@"Transformation failed"); else { NSLog(@"Created transformation successfully ... now render it"); [myResult drawAtPoint: NSMakePoint ( 0,0 ) fromRect: NSMakeRect ( 0,0,128,128 ) operation: NSCompositeSourceOver fraction: 1.0]; //100% opaque [inputCIimage release]; } }

  • NSNotification postNotificationName in AppDelegate but NSNotificationCenter in ViewController?

    - by James Testa
I can't get the selector method, receiveChatText, in the NSNotificationCenter to execute and I am wondering if the problem is because the NSNotification postNotificationName is in AppDelegate.m but NSNotificationCenter is in ViewController.m? I.E. can the postNotificationName know that the NSNotificationCenter is in another viewController file or is that something I need to tell it? In a viewController.m I have -(id)init { self = [super init]; if(self){ [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(receiveChatText:) name:ChatMessageReceived object:nil]; return self; } - (void)receiveChatText:(NSNotification *)note { NSLog(@"received chat text"); } and in the top level AppDelegate.m file I have the following: -(void) didReceiveMessage { [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] postNotificationName:ChatMessageReceived object:nil userInfo:nil]; } Any ideas what could stop receiveChatText from being executed when didReceiveMessage is called?

  • I can't use dashes in XPATH on iphone using libxml2

    - by user249488
I'm trying to parse HTML data using KissXML for iphone. I've noticed that I can't have dashes in the id() tag, otherwise it won't evaluate. For example, if I'm trying to get the element at I would do id("foo") However, if I try to get at element , and I try id("foo-bar") the libxml2 XPATH engine doesn't seem to return anything. It works using the XPATH check for firefox, though. Anyone run into this issue and know of a reason why it's happening or have a workaround (besides using the absolute XPATH path?)

  • NSAutoreleasePool carrying across methods?

    - by Tim
I'm building an iPhone application where I detach some threads to do long-running work in the background so as not to hang the UI. I understand that threads need NSAutoreleasePool instances for memory management. What I'm not sure about is if the threaded method calls another method - does that method also need an NSAutoreleasePool? Example code: - (void)primaryMethod { [self performSelectorInBackground:@selector(threadedMethod) withObject:nil]; } - (void)threadedMethod { NSAutoreleasePool *aPool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; // Some code here [self anotherMethod]; // Maybe more code here [aPool drain]; } - (void)anotherMethod { // More code here } The reason I ask is I'm receiving errors that objects are being autoreleased with no pool in place, and are "just leaking." I've seen other questions where people didn't have autorelease pools in place at all, and I understand why an autorelease pool is needed. I'm specifically interested in finding out whether an autorelease pool created in (in this example) threadedMethod applies to objects created in anotherMethod.

I'm pretty new to this but below is my code snippet - (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section { if(section == 0) { contentArray = [[NSArray arrayWithObjects:@"Send SMS", @"Reports", nil] retain]; } if(section == 1) { contentArray = [[NSArray arrayWithObjects:@"Accounts", nil] retain]; } return [contentArray count]; } I have split the data successfully into the 2 sections but when populating the rows It just repeats the first content array in both sections. • Enabling depth testing when using CAOpenGLLayer

    - by Andrew
If one is using a subclass of NSOpenGLView then one enables depth testing by selecting a 16/24/32 bit buffer from the attributes menu in Xcode, and then adding glEnable(GL_DEPTH_TEST); glClear(GL_DEPTH_BUFFER_BIT); to the drawRect method. However, in the application I'm creating I'm rendering OpenGL content via the drawInCGLContext method of a CAOpenGLLayer which is contained within a subclass of NSView. This means that it is no longer possible to create a depth buffer via the inspector. Does anyone know how I can achieve this in such a situation?

  • how to customize NSTokenField like in "To/ CC" fields in mac mail?

    - by Miraaj
Hi all, I am able to work with NSTokenField, it is easy to use.. but I want your suggestions on how can I customize it just like it is in "To/ CC" fields in mac mail ie. when no. of tokens in a token field increases height of "To" field gets increased to a certain limit then a vertical scroller starts appearing! By default when we use a token field neither its height gets increased nor a vertical scroller appears! I tried different combinations in IB but I could not obtain mac mail like functionality. Can anyone suggest me some solution for it?? Thanks, Miraaj
