  As C# has progressed, many language features have been added. It has come to the point where it's becoming unreadable for me. Select(x => new AssemblyCatalog(x)) .OfType<ComposablePartCatalog>() ) ); Now, this is just a small example. I have a number of questions: Is this a common or known problem? Is the C# community finding the same? Is this an issue with the language, or is it the style used by the developer? Are there any simple solutions to better understand others code and avoid writing code in this way?

Someone wanted to hack my account, so I changed password to a pretty complicated one, which I could not remember..(I know:)) I needed to prove my identity by typing in 3 codes that were sent to 3 friends on fb. I did it. Fb told me to come back in one day. I did so. But this is the message I keep getting: "We're sorry. The email you used to start the account recovery process is already in use. Please restart the process with a new email address.". I really do not want to log back in again with a new subscribtion.   My apologies for the subjective nature of this question but I'm unsure as to which path to follow. I would like to do a bit of indie game development for the iPhone (nothing serious, just something I've wanted to pursue). At my university we aren't taught Java or Objective-C but C#/.NET and HTML5/JavaScript. Is it worth taking what I already know and try to accomplish my goal using, for example, C# and Mono or should I invest the time and learn Objective-C? I don't have a problem learning something new alongside my course (I love learning new stuff) and time isn't a factor. I'm slightly in favor of learning Objective-C for as it would be another string to my bow in the workplace, but it would be nice to stay with C# because it is what I'm used to.

  I just wanted to say hello and ask a few simple questions. I have recently dove into programming with c# and have been curious what everyone else's experiences have been with when learning and starting out. What are some things that you can say that really have made a difference in your understanding and usages of any particular language? I lurk several forums but for some reason have always just kept to myself, and I've realized today that I'm not fully utilizing my resources when it comes to interacting with the community. With that being said, I realize that everyone that is interested in programming inherently is a natural problem solver and would like also to ask you to share your process of learning. Are you the type to have a short term project to tackle a general set of problems you're likely to encounter?   I'm a php/mysql guy, and have been trying to brush up on my frontend skills. So this weekend I made a four function calculator in javascript. But when I started to work on the presentation, I found myself adding extraneous markup just to achieve what a table tag naturally does. Just so we're on the same page, this is the intended layout: 789+ 456- 123x c0=/ It it possible to generate this grid using neither a table, nor extraneous markup? Thank you.

I need a Q&A platform like StackExchange's sites for lawyers and for free legal questions/answers. So, it must be simple, fast, convenient, with an attractive look.   it's been almost a month I've installed ubuntu I can't afford windows cd anymore it is my fault that I didn't dual boot it but, it doesn't make sense in that I can't use my own graphic card in my own computer because certain company doesn't support the driver card for the OS it is seemingly ridiculous that I can't even run a simple 2d game or not even a flash game with this OS a video of 480 and up doesn't run for closely a month I've tried my best to run everything my computer spec provides, but nothing works. not even sound quality

  It occurred to me today that it might be useful to make a list of all the ways to earn money through either actual programming or just programming knowledge. I imagine it's probably a finite list as long as you stick to a reasonable level of granularity. Here's what I have so far: Trading your time for money (i.e. having a job or being a freelancer) Building your own software product (a full-fledged startup or a tiny mobile app or whatever) Giving talks at conferences and meetups Teaching students in a classroom Writing a book or blog (these are products, but non-software products) I've probably missed at least a few. What else is there? (I'm not sure whether this is an appropriate question, by the way. I think I would select the best answer based on how practical/original/interesting/numerous your suggestions are.)

  It's been a week after I had an interview with a bank. They told my recruiter that I had done well and it is looking good for me. However, it's been a week and my recruiter has not been able to reach any of them for feedback and neither have I heard anything, although they did not say to me or my recruiter that I didn't get the job. My recruiter has placed numerous people with this bank with other managers and never with this one, so my recruiter has no clue what's going on. I have already sent an email, however I have not gotten a response. Would it be appropriate for me to call my interviewer and ask for some feedback?

I have stumbled upon MVC's and CMS, CodeIgniter really got my attention, and the basic use is very straight forward. But I do not understand the inner workings completely. So I have decided that it might be better to just develop from scratch and maybe return to codeIgniter later, was that good decision? Would it be better to use CodeIgniter and learn from that?

  My husband and I are relocating to Munich in August (He's German). I have been looking for jobs online since I heard that software developers are in great demand. And by the looks of it, seems to be correct. There are lots of offers on line but I have a problem, my german is not spectacular. I would rate it as basic. Good to be a tourist but not good to write anything formal, not even my cover letter. So I was wondering how hard is really going to be to find a job for me with virtually no german (I'm studying, but good german is not going to happen over night). Also, would it be possible to secure a job before arriving to Germany? I have nearly 10 years of working experience developing software, mostly in .net (c#, vb, winForms, asp.net) but I also know java. 3 years experience as a team leader for groups of up to 8 people. In the last couple of years I've been working mostly on digitalization of documents (such as birth certificates and the like) but I'm more than willing to try other fields Also I speak English, Spanish, Italian, a bit of portuguese and of course a bit of german.

• I failed FizzBuzz, would you hire me? [closed]

  I'm a developer with a CS degree and have work experience doing development in a number of languages for almost 3 years. Today had an interview (2nd interview) with a panel of people. Overall it went quite well, I prepared for most of the questions and felt ready for anything. At the end of the interview, they gave me ONE programming question...a problem like FizzBuzz (without the print the number part). I believe I made too many mistakes and thus have "failed" it. Is all hope lost for me? I was quite stressed, but that's no excuse for missing a simple problem. So the question is, if my work history and personality fit with the job and this is the only code you've seen, would you hire me?

  Hi, Im doing a POC using Aspectj. class BaseInfo{..} class UserInfo extends BaseInfo{..} class UserService { public void getUser(UserInfo userInfo){..} public void deleteUser(String userId){..} } I've defined an advice, that gets invoked when I pass an UserInfo instance.But when i try to pass the BaseInfo, the advice is not getting invoked. Below block executes the afterMethod as expected for getUser. &ltaop:pointcut id="aopafterMethod" expression="execution(* UserService.*(..,UserInfo,..))" / &gtaop:after pointcut-ref="aopafterMethod" method="afterMethod" / But when i try to give BaseInfo instead of UserInfo, the aspect is not getting triggered. Am i missing something? Kindly help me on this issue.

Of course Im testing the functionality before I send message that its "done", but I really don't know why I can't see trivial bugs. Some time it looks like I didnt test anything, but its not true. Ive always had this problems but now its pain in the a.s. My question is very simple, what happened to me ;)? Ok, joke aside. What do you do to avoid simple mistakes? plzzz don't tell me to use TDD. I have tried importing jomsocial library class of profile fields, but I have one issue. I have no object to pass into that function as a parameter.
