• How to use a different partition to store Restore Points in Windows?

  I'm running Windows 7, and it's installed on a 32 GB partition which is currently running low on space (and expanding it is not an option). Windows System Restore takes up several Gigs of that space. Since I like having many restore points available, I don't want to decrease the amount of space available for system restore. So my option is to try and get Windows to save my Restore Points on a different partition. Is that possible?

I'm looking for a way to either: A (preferred option): For any single pinned item, force this pinned item to always display as just the icon even if it has active windows. OR B (acceptable option): Force ALL pinned items to always display as icon only in the taskbar

• Why can I no longer pin tabs in Google Chrome?

  I am using the latest dev channel version of Chrome in Ubuntu 9.10. Before Chrome automatically updated a few days ago, I had the option to pin tabs. This option no longer appears when I right-click on a tab. Is anyone else having these problems? If not, any idea what I can do to fix this? Thanks.

• Sync folder outside SkyDrive on OS X

  After the recent 25 GB update, I wanted to sync my pictures with SkyDrive as I finally have enough space (My almost 10 GB Dropbox is full with other data and I need more than 10 GB for my pictures alone). Anyway, the symlink (ln -s) option is not really working as it just creates an alias inside the skydrive which is not even synchronised. Is there any other option or do I have to live with moving the pictures folder into SkyDrive (which I wouldn't really want to do).

  My ThinkPad notebook has "next page" and "previous page" buttons right next to the cursor keys. While writing code (sometimes in textareas on pages such as StackOverflow) accidentally hitting one of these keys is very annoying - either you navigate away or you get the "do you really want to navigate way" prompt. I never use those keys anyway so I wonder if there's an option in Firefox to ignore those keys. An option to remap them globally or simply disable them would (OS: Windows 7) be fine, too.

  I have a couple of columns in jqGrid with edittype="select". How can I read the option value of the value currently selected in a particular row? e.g.: When I provide the following option, how do I get "FE" for FedEx, etc. editoption: { value: “FE:FedEx; IN:InTime; TN:TNT” } getRowData() for the rowId/cellname returns only the text/displayed component of the select. If I set a "change" data event on the column, the underlying fires change events only on mouse clicks, and not keyboard selects (there's numerous references to generic selects and mouse/keyboard issues). Bottomline, when a new value is selected, I need to know the option value at the time of the change, and also prior to posting to the server.

  Hi, I am using CodeIgniter's form helper and form validation library to build my forms. I'm having trouble making the dropdown 'sticky' and also finding appropriate validation rules. This is how I'm populating the drodown: foreach($events as $event){ $options[$event->event_title] = $event->event_title; } $firstItem = '<option>Please select one...</option>'; echo form_dropdown('events', $options, '', $firstItem); This is building the options from events stored in the database. The form looks fine and is populating tall the fields correctly. Hwoever, when I come to submit the form, the dropdown isn't holding onto the value selected? Also, how should I validate it, I want to make it required but I also want to make sure that I dont except the first option in the dropdown 'Please select one...' Thanks in advance. Cheers, Gaz

• Removing blank page at end of SSRS Report

  I have a report that produces a blank page at the end of the report. How do I get rid of it? The report consists of text/list boxes that are embedded inside a rectangle. The rectangle has the property selected: "Add page break after". If this option is selected the report renders exactly how it should, minus the extra blank page at the end. However, if the "Add page break after" option is not selected, the blank page does not appear, although the report does not display the content correctly. It seems that this option is producing the extra page at the end of the report. The issue is not with the margins. How can the last blank page be eliminated while still maintaining the page breaks throughout the rest of the report?

  I have a bound dropdown list populated with a table of names through a select, and databinding. it shoots selectedindexchanged that (through a postback) updates a certain gridview. What happens is, since it runs from changing the index, the one that always comes selected (alexander) can only me chosen if you choose another one, then choose alexander. poor alexander. What I want is to put a blanc option at the beginning (default) and (if possible) a option as second. I can't add this option manually, since the binding wipes whatever was in the dropdown list and puts the content of the datasource.

• tablesorter pager initial pagination

  Hi, This might sound like a very stupid question to some of you, but I assure you I've been checking through the internet and I haven't had any luck about this. My question is: is it possible to set an initial pagination number in the tablesorter pager plugin? By default it takes the 10 option, but I've tried to put a 5 as the selected option and it loads 10 anyway. If I change it and come back to the 5 it will load as said, 5, but not at the beggining. Is there any option when loading the tablesorter?   Once I have set the minDate property of a datepicker with the convenient string syntax $(elem).datepicker('option','minDate','+1d +3m'); how can I get the date object of the minDate? To help illustrate, there is a method $(elem).datepicker('getDate'); which returns the date that is entered in the input in the format of a date object. I would like the same thing but for datepicker('getMinDate'). There is an option like this $(elem).datepicker('option','minDate'); but this returns '+1d +3m' which is not helpful. I need the actual date object to compare with another date object. Any ideas?

  Hello, I want to build a static library (*.LIB file) GNU libiconv on windows to be used with other libraries in Visual C++. Other libraries I'm using are built with "MultiThreaded DLL" (/MD) Runtime option. So, I need to build libiconv with the same option. Problem is the libiconv uses GNU build system and I want to compile with /MD option. • Android - Redirect sending of SMS message

  I currently use a ContentObserver to listen for changes in the SMS ContentProvider and tell my application whether a message has been sent or received. Upon getting notification that a message is being sent I would like to present the user the option to send that SMS normally over GSM/CDMA or if connected to Wifi to send the SMS over an ip connection. I am aware of how to present my own application as an option to create and send an SMS when a user clicks on a contacts information and "Send SMS" but this is not what I want. I want the user to be able to use the native or a 3rd party SMS application and when they try to send an SMS present them with a dialog screen giving them the option to send the SMS in whichever direction they want. So is it possible that once I get notified an SMS is being sent to pause it, allow the user to pick the desired route to send it and then change the sms from being sent over GSM/CDMA to being sent using a protocol over IP if required?

• Handling Hide/Show dock icon menu in AIR on OS X

  I'm trying to figure out how to access the Show/Hide option that OS X automatically adds to the dock icon menu. The problem is that no matter what I do to hide my app, the dock icon menu will always show Hide and only if I click that option does it switch to Show. I want to have my app toggle visibility using the Invoke event but if a user hides the app that way and then right clicks the dock icon, they won't see Show, just Hide. Is there an event I can monitor for it? Or that I can trigger? I just want to have that menu option status be synced to whatever visibility status I set programatically. This has been driving me nuts!

  Hi I want to add some options to my magento, lets say i print on clothing, a customer buys some t-shirts, shirts and jackets from me, it totals to £60+ VAT on the checkout area where i signup and not before I need to add an option where I can add a text box and upload option, can i do this? I ideally then want to add some pricing options if the user has chosen to add some branding to a product or multiple products e.g. if the branding was on the top right of the shirt it will cost £5.00, if on the back it costs £7.00 etc all if possible to be done via the admincp. I also want an option so when they upload their logo for the first time they are charged a one off charge, like a setup fee but If the customer has allready sent in there logo then no charge applies. thanks Graham

  I have a dropdownbox (percent), a input box(price) and a input box (total) When you select a percent from the dropdown, it multiplies the value of the selected dropdown times the price value and input the result in the total input box. This works well with one input box, but what I am trying to do is to use asp and when you select a percent from the drop down box, it will calcualate the rest of the total fields.   Hi Guys, I'm playing with Python 2.6 and its optparse module. I would like to convert one of my arguments to a datetime through a callback but it fails.
