    Why does for ([] in iterable); work fine but [void 0 for ([] in iterable)] throw a syntax error for invalid left-hand assignment?     Hi, given a standard model (called Image) with an autoset 'id', how do I get the max id? So far I've tried: max_id = Image.objects.all().aggregate(Max('id')) but I get a 'id__max' Key error. Trying max_id = Image.objects.order_by('id')[0].id gives a 'argument 2 to map() must support iteration' exception Any help?

    Hi, I was playing around with Drupal UC and installed a module called "Quoting / Estimate" (http://drupal.org/project/quoting), I tried to run it and got this error: **warning: call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, 'quoting_quote_clear_page' was given in /home/ergospec/public_html/d/includes/menu.inc on line 348** Has anyone run into this problem? Second question: anyone know of a good quotation module (where customer can request a price quote, not the brackets)? It doesn't have to be in Drupal. Any help is appreciated. Murtez

    Hi StackOverflow, Can someone tell me the correct way of passing multiple vectors to a function that can take only a single argument? (specifically for pthread_create (..) function) I tried the following but it does not seem to work :-( First, I created the following structure struct ip2 { void* obj; int dim; int n_s; vector<vector<vector<double> > > *wlist; vector<int> *nrsv; struct model *pModel; }; The threads that I have created actually needs all these parameters.     I'm having trouble parsing an XML response from a web service. I have a feeling this is due to a namespace issue. But, after 4 hours of research, trial-and-error, and head-banging I haven't been able to resolve it. Please help. My goal is to get a dbms_xmldom.DOMNodeList that contains "ERRORS" nodes.     I'm using Executors.newScheduledThreadPool() to create a ScheduledExecutorService, specifying the number of threads like so: int corePoolSize = 42; ScheduledExecutorService foo = Executors.newScheduledThreadPool(corePoolSize); According to the JavaDocs, the corePoolSize argument sets the number of threads to keep in the pool, even if they are idle. Does this mean that this ExecutorService implementation may create more than corePoolSize threads as needed, similar to a cached thread pool?

    I'm trying to create a service bean that when referenced will be initialized with HttpSession based attributes. Let's say for sake of argument that my webapp would do the following: Establish a session Request login & password When service is requested (it is scope="session" and has init-method="init()") a new instance is created for the session. In the init method, can I reference the HttpSession either through passing it in as a parameter and referencing it by EL? Any ideas on this would be appreciated.

    NSDecimalNumber is a subclass of NSNumber, and from what I can tell, it implements all of the NSNumber methods as expected for an NSNumber instance. Given that, is it ok to give NSDecimalNumbers to any code that is expecting an NSNumber? The only possible issue might be code that checks that an argument is an instance of NSNumber, but since NSNumber is a class-cluster, code like this would have to check that the instance is a subclass of NSNumber, and NSDecimalNumber instances should pass the same tests.

    Hello, I've written a template function to determine the median of any vector or array of any type that can be sorted with sort. (vec[mid] + vec[mid-1]) / 2 : vec[mid]; } int main() { vector<double> v; v.push_back(2); v.push_back(8); v.push_back(7); v.push_back(4); v.push_back(9); double a[5] = {2, 8, 7, 4, 9}; double r; median(v.begin(), v.size(), r); cout << r << endl; median(a, 5, r); cout << r << endl; return 0; } As you can see, the median function takes a pointer as an argument, T vec. Also in the argument list is a reference variable X ret, which is modified by the function to store the computed median value. However I don't find this a very elegant solution. T vec will always be a pointer to the same type as X ret. My initial attempts to write median had a header like this: template<class T> T median(T *vec, size_t size) { sort(vec, vec + size); size_t mid = size/2; return size % 2 == 0 ? (vec[mid] + vec[mid-1]) / 2 : vec[mid]; } I also tried: template<class T, class X> X median(T vec, size_t size) { sort(vec, vec + size); size_t mid = size/2; return size % 2 == 0 ? (vec[mid] + vec[mid-1]) / 2 : vec[mid]; } I couldn't get either of these to work. My question is, can anyone show me a working implementation of either of my alternatives? Thanks for looking!
