    Let's say I have the table NAME | ID | REF foo1 | 1 | NULL foo2 | 2 | 1234 foo2 | 3 | 567 foo1 | 4 | NULL foo3 | 5 | 89 I'd like to count all instances of NULL and NOT NULL in one query so that I can say NAME | null | not null foo1 | 0 | 2 foo2 | 2 | 0 foo3 | 0 | 1 I could run these two queries select NAME,count(*) from TABLE where REF is not null select NAME,count(*) from TABLE where REF is null But I'm sure there must be a simple way to do it in one mysql query.

    When i set lower_case_table_names = 1 in mysql i know that it converts every table name to lowecase so "myCoolLowerCaseName" becomes "mycoollowercasename". But the question is: queries with camelcase name works ? with a table called mycoollowercasename the query:SELECT * FROM myCoolLowerCaseName works? Thanks

I mean if it is guaranted that PictureId will be unique when this query is run by many threads ? I can't modify table structure.   • Convert MYSQL Timestamp to time_t

    I'm writing a multi-threaded program that needs to be able to check if a row requires updating and act accordingly. I had problems using the built in date/time functions of MySql and so decided to just store the "lastupdate" timestamp as an integer in the table. However, I'm having problems converting this timestamp to time_t so that I can use the time functions with it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Guys, My insert and update pages (through my admin forlder) into mysql stopped working. When I try to insert/update details it stays on the same page without adding or updating anything into the database table. I really don't know what happened and don't know where start looking.   • Why MAMP sets to 600 MySQL file permission?

    I usually put MAMP MySQL /db/db-site-name folder under SVN. When MAMP starts, it gives the drw------- (600) permission to all the files and dir in that folder. I have a problem because one of these folder is .svn one, that have to be drwxr-xr-x (755), otherwise I can't access to SVN working copy with my client. Can anyone help me to set MAMP properly?

I would want to partition this table based on the date on which the data is imported - luckily this is a field in the table that is of the format yyyy-mm-dd - Is it possible to partition it based on this date column ?
