  • Linux browse and open network files with command line

    I'm new to Linux. I have a Windows network connected to a Linux computer. When I try to browse Windows files from windows managers in Linux, it asks for user name, work group name and password. The address of computer network is something like this: smb://computer-name/folder I want to access my network folders and files using command line. I have searched a little bit but I didn't find anything. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

  • Iptables - Open Port Only for one Server IP (allow connections from a specific range)

    My server has multiple IPs, 1.1.1.1 1.1.1.2 and i have a service which listens to a port e.g. 88 Now i want, when somebody from outside, wants to connect to the port, that he can only connect, to that port, if he connects to the ip 1.1.1.2:88 but if he tries to connect to 1.1.1.1:88 it should not react and it should look like that it dont exists and drops all connections. Ok, than i need for 1.1.1.2:88 that only allows a specific ip range outside connecters. for example only 9.*.*.* can connect to that port and ip. I'm using Centos. Thank you for your help.

  • iOS - Open an app with a URL Scheme from Chrome

    I've read many many blogs and examples of how to open an app from an URL scheme (for example, this blog), and it seems to work great when I call my app from mobile safari. For instance, when I call testapp://some.data.here in mobile safari, it opens my testapp and I can parse out the some.data.here. However, when I call testapp://some.data.here in iOS-Chrome, it just googles the term instead of calling the app. Is there a way to have iOS Chrome recognize the URL as a registered app the way mobile safari does? When I google this topic, I see a lot of comments on how to open a url in chrome from an app, but not the other way around. Has anyone encountered this? Thanks!

  • How to get IE to open JavaScript as text

    I am running IE 9. Up until last week sometime, if I would put the URL of a JavaScript file in the address bar, it would show the JavaScript as text in the browser window. Now when I do that, it wants to download the JavaScript file. How can I revert it to the previous handling? This is annoying since I'm developing a web application and if I can get it to display the .js files as text in the browser, then I can refresh it to force the cache to update. Update: I've tested on several co-workers machines. For some, browsing to .js files renders them in the browser (IE 9 in all cases). In others, it asks for a download. File associations don't seem to have any effect. One co-worker we tested with IE and Chrome. IE wanted to download it, but Chrome rendered it as text. This makes me think it's an IE issue and not an OS issue.

    I have a directory of text files that all end in the extension .txt My goal is to print the contents of the text file. I wish to be able use the wildcard *.txt to be able to specific the text file name I wish to open (I'm thinking along the lines of something like "F:\text*.txt" ?), split the lines of the text file, then print the output.     We're using an Exchange Server and Outlook in a private context. Since Exchange is getting more and more of a monster to maintain and is basically the only thing running on a Windows VM Server, I'm looking for an alternative with the following properties: Server based back-end that that can be installed / deployed on my machine and is not dependent on any third party services (e.g. Google Calendar). (Easy) import of existing Outlook calendars, either via some feature of Exchange or by ex- and importing from Outlook. Roughly the basic features of the Outlook calendar (categorizations, series, etc) Synchronization with the iPhone over wireless without a hitch (e.g. double or missing entries) Any recommendations?

    Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows of any free Open Source software wich demonstrates multitrack recording support? So preferrably a control or something would have been great. I could also be able to pay for something like this, as long as I'd be able to include it in my own VB.NET solution.   • remove an open wifi of a service provider near my house

    I'm using Win 7. There is an access point of a service provider wifi near my house. The wifi is not free and not WEB/WPA protected. Everyone can connect to it and it will show the company's login page. (if the username/password are put correctly, their customer can use the net.) I'm not the customer of the company and have my own access point in my house. But my computer always connect to the network of that company. I tried to remove the network but it keep coming back and connect to that access point instead of mine. What can I do to make my computer choose my access point first?

    I am working on a webbased application which has JSP and servlets. In my application, I am binding some objects to sessions like the following code -- HttpSession session = p_req.getSession(); session.setAttribute(DOWNLOAD_With_WARNINGS, downloadMap); Later I am retrieving them using session.getAttribute. I would like to know if every time I open a new browser does it open a new HTTP session. Because , if I do a setAttribute with some value in one browser instance, that change is visible when I do a getAttribute using the other browser instance.

    I know how to update my own programs, and I know how to open programs using the a predefined Uri (for sms or email for example) I need to know how I can create an Intent to open MyTracks or any other application that I don't know what intents they listen to. I got this info from DDMS, but I havn't been succesful in turning this to an Intent I can use. This is taken from when opening MyTracks manually.     Hi, I want to make 3d games for the iphone and with all this doubt about Unity and Apples new sdk agreement I'm wondering what the best way forward is? A lot of people recommend opengl es and point me in the direction of the open gl es bible and likewise, the problem is none of this actually talk about setting a game up i.e loading a character, scene , AI etc. Yet a lot of people are using Open GL es please could someone help me out, I really feel like I'm missing out on something.     I'm using the O_DIRECT flag to write to the disk directly from the user buffer. But as far as I understand, Linux doesn't guarantee that after this call, the data is written. It just writes directly from the user buffer to the physical device using DMA or anything else... Therefore, I don't understand if I can write to the user buffer after the call to 'write' function. I'm sure that example code will help to understand my question: char *user_buff = malloc(...); /* assume it is aligned as needed */ fd = open(..., O_DIRECT); write(fd, ...) memset(user_buff, 0, ...) Is the last line (memset) legal? Is writing to the user buffer valid that is maybe used by DMA to transfer data to the device?

  • Getting back into C/C++ after several years

    While at university I started my first programming with ANSI C, before we moved onto Java later in the course. Now I would like to go back to (re)learning C and C++ again to allow me to contribute with open source projects and also to expand my CV and improve my career prospects. Currently I mostly program in VB.net (I know I know, I try to not do things the nasty way you can with this) and am slowly picking up C# as I get some time at work. I also use a bit of java for Android dev. While I realise just doing it is the best way to learn, my exercise ideas are usually either trivial or beyond my current skills. What are some good sources for this initial relearn, I intend to possibly start helping with Chromium as other people seem to think this a good place to get started in OS. Basically any help getting back into this would be appreciated.
