  I used to use this script for jquery email obfuscation: $(".replaceAt").replaceWith("@"); $(".obfuscate").each(function () { $(this).attr("href", "mailto:"+$(this).text()); }); <a class="obfuscate">name<span class="replaceAt">-AT-</span>server.com</a> But with jQuery 1.4.x, I now get this error: uncaught exception: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: @ Looking this up on the net, it looks like jQuery thinks that the @ is a special character. I tried to "\@" it and a few other things with not luck. I'm not enough of a jQuery ninja to know how to fix this. Any ideas?

• Outlook Macro not executing

  Hello all, we are using an an outlook macro for incoming emails to unzip the attachments, log them in sql server and copy them to a special working folder where a windows service processes them. The problems are: the user must be logged in at the server otherwise the macro wont run. I think there is no workaround for this. whenever a modal dialog pops up in outlook and waits for user input, the macro wont execute either (f.e. AutoArchive) I have stopped AutoArchiving all x-days in the options. Because its a productive environment, are there other possible windows preventing the macro to execute, which i must disable now? Our outlook-macro solution surely is not the best because of above problems. Are there better alternatives to read emails, unzip attachments and move them to a working folder? My language is VB.Net and server OS is windows 2008. Regards, Tim

  I have a macro that I use to replace special characters for its html entities. I would like to save it in my .vimrc. According to this, I should use let @r=' *macro_text_goes_here* '. The problem is that my macro is a series of search and replace, something like this: :%s:á:\&aacute;:Ige :%s:é:\&eacute;:Ige :%s:í:\&iacute;:Ige So, I've tried with ^V-enter, <enter>, <CR> using real line breaks, but it never works. On the other side, if I put the text on a register and then run the macro, it works as expected.

  Hi, Can you please help me interpret the Greek Characters with HTML display as HTML= & #8062; and Hex value 01F7E Details of these characters can be found on the below URL http://www.isthisthingon.org/unicode/index.php?page=01&subpage=F&hilite=01F7E When I run this character in Apache FOP, they give me an ArrayIndexOut of Bounds Exception Caused by: java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: -1 at org.apache.fop.text.linebreak.LineBreakUtils.getLineBreakPairProperty(LineBreakUtils.java:668) at org.apache.fop.text.linebreak.LineBreakStatus.nextChar(LineBreakStatus.java:117) When I looked into the FOP Code, I was unable to understand the need for lineBreakProperties[][] Array in LineBreakUtils.java. I also noticed that FOP fails for all the Greek characters mentioned on the above page which are non-displayable with the similar error. What are these special characters ? Why is their no display for these characters are these Line Breaks or TAB’s ? Has anyone solved a similar issue with FOP ?

  Hi, Below is the user interface I have created to simulate LDPC coding and decoding The code sequence is decoded iteratively by passing values between the left and right nodes through the connections. The first thing it would be good to add in order to improve visualization is to add arrows to the connections in the direction of passing values. The alternative is to draw a bigger arrow at the top of the connection showing the direction. Another thing I would like to do is displaying the current mathematical operation below the connection (in this example c * H'). What I don't know how to do is displaying special characters and mathematical symbols and other kinds of text such as subscript and superscript in the figure (for example sum sign and subscript "T" instead of sign ="'" to indicate transposed matrix). I would be very thankful if anyone could point to any useful resources for the questions above or show the solution. Thank you.

  Hi, This is the problem described in Programming pearls. I can not understand binary search method descrbied by the author. Can any one helps to elaborate? Thanks. EDIT: I can understand binary search in general. I just can not understand how to apply binary search in this special case. How to decide the missing number is in or not in some range so that we can choose another. English is not my native language, that is one reason I can not understand the author well.   Hello, As we all know that EJB's in 3.1 or 3.0 are simple POJOs. You just need to give annotations here and there and it gets converted to EJB from simple class. So, now my question is why should i use EJBs at all? Can i not do without them? In .Net i created class library and got things done. I never felt the need for anything like EJB. Simple classes were enough. Then, why in Java people stress on EJB? What is difference between a simple POJO and EJB in terms of execution and memory? Further which function should i write in EJB and which should i write in simple class? Should i dump every function in EJB only? or there is some kind of strategy? Does EJB provide anything special?

• how can I develop Apple Java Extensions on Windows?

  When I do multi-platform testing on Windows it gets annoying that Eclipse shows errors in the project because of the com.apple.eawt code that I have in a special Mac customization task. Worse yet, if I export a runnable jar on Windows, it won't run on mac because of the unresolved compilation problems. What's the best way to let Windows Java and com.apple.eawt live in peace? I can't see how I would be able to spin off the code to a jar, since it requires access to lots of the program's state. Thanks for your help! • Why is the base() constructor not necessary?

  Hello, I have a class structure like abstract class Animal { public Animal(){ //init stuff.. } } class Cat : Animal { public Cat(bool is_keyboard) : base() //NOTE here { //other init stuff } } Now then, look at the noted line. If you remove : base() then it will compile without an error. Why is this? Is there a way to disable this behavior? I have had multiple bugs now from forgetting the base() which I would have thought to be required on such a special thing as a constructor.

  In "Programming F#" I came across a pattern-matching like this one (I simplified a bit): let rec len list = match list with | [] -> 0 | [_] -> 1 | head :: tail -> 1 + len tail;; Practically, I understand that the last match recognizes the head and tail of the list. Conceptually, I don't get why it works. As far as I understand, :: is the cons operator, which appends a value in head position of a list, but it doesn't look to me like it is being used as an operator here. Should I understand this as a "special syntax" for lists, where :: is interpreted as an operator or a "match pattern" depending on context? Or can the same idea be extended for types other than lists, with other operators?

• Wordpress custom pages CMS

  Hi guys, I'm considering Wordpress as my CMS platform for a client site I'm doing at the moment. However, I need to create a couple of custom 'modules'. One of these modules is a form that people will be able to complete and have a quote, and once submitted, in a special place in the Wordpress panel (like a menu or something), there will be a listing of all the submitted quotes (just fetching it from a table in my database). Another one is to manage a cafeteria menu, so the client can add a different meal to each day of the week. I know perfectly how to do this kind of things using some kind of MVC framework and doing it 'by-hand', but I'm just wondering if this would be possible to do with WP and if yes, what kind of tools I'll have to use. • Call a macro every time any method is called - Objective C

  Hi, I wrote a debug macro that prints to the console the passed-in string whenever the global kDebug flag == YES. I need to print out the name of a method and it's classname whenever any method is called. That works fine when i painstakingly go through every method and write the name of the class and the method in a string. Is there any special handler that gets called when any method in Objective-C is called, and if so, is there a way i can somehow override it to call my debug macro?? The entire purpose of this is so that I don't have to go through every method in my code and hand-code the method signature in the debug macro call. Thanks

• What does: throw 0 do/mean? Is it "bad"?

  Context I came across some code, like this: if( Some_Condition ) throw 0; I googled a bit, and found a few other code snippets using that odd looking throw 0 form. I presume one would catch this as: catch(const int& e) { } Or is this a NULL ptr? to be caught as void* ? Question What does this throw 0 do? Is it special in some way? My normal preference would be to throw something that is (or derived from) std::exception. So to me this looks "bad". Is it "bad" ?

• Show a taskbar item with a NativeWindow

  My application is intended to work almost entirely through a Windows 7 taskbar item with the use of thumbnails and jump lists. I know I can easily create a Form and simply hide it, but this seems like overkill. Plus, I'd like to toy around with NativeWindow as much as possible, because I've never used it before. Essentially, I have a class called RootWindow that derives from NativeWindow. I don't need a visible window at all, but simply something to process window messages and provide a taskbar item that I can attach thumbnails and jump lists to. Is there some kind of special CreateParams option I need to pass to CreateHandle? Or am I out of luck?

  Hi There, I would like to use jQuery to find the last page name / directory from the url and display it on the page in a <h3> container. For example: /_blog/PunkLogic_News/tag/videos/ I would like to display 'videos' in a specific <h3 class="urltag"> on the page. /_blog/PunkLogic_News/tag/Noosa_Biosphere/ I would like to display 'Noosa Biosphere' without the underscore.   A very simple situation. I'm working on an application in Delphi 2007 which is often compiled as 'Release' but still runs under a debugger. And occasionally it will run under SilkTest too, for regression testing. While this is quite fun I want to do something special... I want to detect if my application is running within a debugger/regression-tester and if that's the case, I want the application to know which tool is used! (Thus, when the application crashes, I could report this information in it's error report.) Any suggestions, solutions?

  Hello, Sometimes, when using Java reflection or some special storing operation into Object, you end up with unchecked warnings. I got used to it and when I can't do anything about it, I document why one call is unchecked and why it should be considered as safe. But, for the first time, I've got an error about a unchecked call. This function : public <K,V extends SomeClass & SomeOtherClass<K>> void doSomethingWithSomeMap (Map map, V data); I thought that calling it this way : Map someMap = ...; SomeClass someData = ...; doSomethingWithSomeMap(someMap, someData); would give me an unchecked call warning. Jikes does a warning, but javac gives me an error : Error: <K,V>doSomethingWithSomeMap(java.util.Map<K,V>,V) in SomeClass cannot be applied to (java.util.Map,SomeClass) Any way to force it to compile with a warning? • Two models, one STI and a Validation

  Let's say I have two tables -- Products and Orders. For the sake of simplicity assume that only one product can be purchased at a time so there is no join table like order_items. So the relationship is that Product has many orders, and Order belongs to product. Therefore, product_id is a fk in the Order table. The product table is STI -- with the subclasses being A, B, C. When the user orders subclass Product C, two special validations must be checked on the Order model fields order_details and order_status. These two fields can be nil for all other Product subclasses (ie A and B). In other words, no validation needs to run for these two fields when a user purchases A and B. My question is: How do I write validations (perhaps custom?) in the Order model so that the Order model knows to only run the validations for the two fields -- order_details and order_status -- when Product subclass C is being saved to the orders table?

  I am trying to pass login credentials to a PHP script that I have in my iPhone app. When I pull a password with special characters the password is missing certain characters especially the percent sign. I am trying to encode the text but even before I send it, the percent sign is missing. //password_field is a UITextField holding the password: !@#$%^&*() NSString *tmpPass = [password_field.text stringByAddingPercentEscapesUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; NSLog(p_field.text); NSLog(tmpPass); This is what appears in the console: !@#$^&*() [email protected]&*() Is there any reason why it would be dropping the percent sign?

My next project uses Spring (which I'm not very familiar with), and I'm wondering whether I should consider changing my IDE from early on; e.g. to SpringSource eclipse/Intellij IDEA Professional. Do you guys have any experience with these IDE-built-in Spring support? Is it worth using?

  Hi, I'm now working on my output of the feeds I'm taking in from some site. What I'm currently doing is Time, and i want it to be displayed in a maybe, little be special way.. like this.. today, 14:12 yesterday, 15:34 27/12, 15:24 i have this in my code = news.entry_published.strftime("%d/%m, %H:%M") That gives me an error saying undefined method `strftime' for "2010-12-30 19:26:00.000000":String And it dosn't do what i want with the days.. Edit: - @date = DateTime.strptime(news.entry_published, "%Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S") = @date.strftime("%d/%m, %H:%M") Now works, and gives this output 30/12, 19:26 But i still have to check if it is today, yesterday or just another day.   I'm writing an ANT task in Java. In my build.xml I specify parameters, which should be read from my java class. Problems occur, when I use special characters, like german umlauts (Ö,Ä,Ü) in these parameters. In my java task they appear as ?-characters (using System.out.print). All my files are encoded as UTF-8. and my build.xml has the corresponding declaration: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> For the details of writing the task: I do it according to http://ant.apache.org/manual/develop.html (especially Point 5 nested elements). I have nested elements in my task like: <parameter name="test" value="ÖÄÜtest"/> and a java method: public void addConfiguredParameter(Parameter prop) { System.out.println(prop.getValue()); //prints ???test } to read the parameter values.
