  • Make the text of a disabled textbox easier to see

    I have a text box that when it is disabled the text in it is gray and kind of dithered. (This is the standard functionality.) Is there a way to make this easier to see? I have tried this: txtBoxNumber.Enabled = false; txtBoxNumber.ForeColor = Color.Black; and that has no effect. NOTE: This is a .net Compact Framework app, but I am not tagging the question with CF because I think it is the same for normal .net.

    I enabled text filtering on my ListView in the expected way; adding android:textFilterEnabled=”true” in resource definition and (as I'm using a SimpleCursorAdapter) setting a FilterQueryProvider that provides a filtered cursor like so: public Cursor runQuery(CharSequence constraint) { Cursor cur = mDba.fetchTrackers(mCurrentGroupId, constraint.toString()); startManagingCursor(cur); return cur; } My question is this: once the user selects a list item, goes off to another activity, and returns to this one, how can I control the state of the filter previously applied? What I'm seeing right now is that when I return to the activity, the cursor being used is the unfiltered one set on the filter at creation, but the filter text they typed is still shown (and typing keys causes the filter to be applied). What I'd like to do is either clear the filter, or keep the filtered cursor that the activity was left with.

  • Importing data from a text file using python

    I have a text file containing data in rows and columns (~17000 rows in total). Each column is a uniform number of characters long, with the 'unused' characters filled in by spaces. For example, the first column is 11 characters long, but the last four characters in that column are always spaces (so that it appears to be a nice column when viewed with a text editor). Sometimes it's more than four if the entry is less than 7 characters. The columns are not otherwise separated by commas, tabs, or spaces. They are also not all the same number of characters (the first two are 11, the next two are 8 and the last one is 5 - but again, some are spaces). What I want to do is import the entires (which are numbers) in the last two columns if the second column contains the string 'OW' somewhere in it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I am trying to pre-populate a text box with today's date, but for some reason, it keeps showing today's date as 5/30/13, which is a month behind. This code should just be pulling the local time so why is it a month behind?   • Show elipses where text will be truncated as per iTunes

    I a building an application with a similar layout to iTunes i.e. it has a sidebar that doubles as a menu. Some of the text will exceed the boundary and rather that having it be truncated I would like to show ellipses (see line image below "Purchased on My iPh..."). How would I go about this in WPF? Suppose I made the boundary movable i.e. user can change the size of the panel (split panel in Windows Forms), how would I go about dynamically showing the ellipses/text? Thanks in advance, B

    I have mysql table that has a column that stores xml as a string. I need to find all tuples where the xml column contains a given string of 6 characters. Nothing else matters--all I need to know is if this 6 character string is there or not. So it probably doesn't matter that the text is formatted as xml. Question: how can I search within mysql? ie SELECT * FROM items WHERE items.xml [contains the text '123456'] Is there a way I can use the LIKE operator to do this? Thanks

    Hi, I have an ASP.NET 2.0 webapp (with C#). I wanted to add a button which, when clicked would highlight selected text. By 'highlight', I mean change the CSS properties of the text so that it can stand out. I think this can be done with some clientside JavaScript. I know that you can assign a Javascript function to the onclick event of an HTML input button, but since I'm not very proficient at JS the function itself I have no idea how to write...     Hi all, I am currently developing an application for android. I'm not sure if this is possible but here it goes. When the user clicks and holds on a text box whether it is a website or a piece of software a menu is displayed which shows paste and input method. What I want to be able to do is add my own items to this menu and when the user clicks on my item it will load my app, they can select an item from a list view. It will then copy the contents and automatically paste it into the text field the user selected. Thanks for your help in this matter

    I'm using a stored procedure in a sql database as the data source for a SqlDataSourceControl on my .aspx page. I'm then using the SqlDataSourceControl as the data source for a gridview on my page. Paging is set to true on the gridview. What i would like to do is set the text of a label to the total number of rows in the gridview. I can use this code 'labelRowCount.Text = GridView2.Rows.Count & " layers found" to return the number of results per page, but it doesn't give me the total. I've looked in several places and haven't been successful in finding a solution.
