  • ASP.NET Development Server - Empty webResource.axd after conversion from 2.0 to 3.5

    I have moved a project from asp.net 2.0 to 3.5. The original project was using the atlas ajax extensions so I have modified the code to use the built in ajax features in 3.5. When running the project within the dev environemnt (VS2008 on Vista Business SP1) and using the asp.net dev server I receive javascript errors such as WebForm_PostBackOptions which point to a missing handler/module. If I deploy the project and run it stand alone within IIS or if I use Fiddler2 while running in VS2008 I do not see the errors and fiddler shows that the axd files are being downloaded correctly. Also deploying to a 2003 server does not show any issues. I could just carry on and forget this as it works when deployed but I would like to understand what is happening. Has anyone got an ideas as to what is going on here and how to get the same results accross all environments?

  • Explanation of casting/conversion int/double in C#

    I coded some calculation stuff (I copied below a really simplifed example of what I did) like CASE2 and got bad results. Refactored the code like CASE1 and worked fine. I know there is an implicit cast in CASE 2, but not sure of the full reason. Any one could explain me what´s exactly happening below? //CASE 1, result 5.5 double auxMedia = (5 + 6); auxMedia = auxMedia / 2; //CASE 2, result 5.0 double auxMedia1 = (5 + 6) / 2; //CASE 3, result 5.5 double auxMedia3 = (5.0 + 6.0) / 2.0; //CASE 4, result 5.5 double auxMedia4 = (5 + 6) / 2.0; My guess is that /2 in CASE2 is casting (5 + 6) to int and causing round of division to 5, then casted again to double and converted to 5.0. CASE3 and CASE 4 also fixes the problem.

    I have a project to do in Visual Basic. My problem is that the outcome is always wrong (ex. instead of 2011 it gives 2000). And i cannot set as Desired unit the Inch(1) or feet(3), it gives the Infinity error. And if i put as Original and Desired unit the inch(1), the outcome is "Not a Number".     Hi, I am redirecting my question to superuser from stackoverflow: I have a http streaming link which gives me .flv streaming feed. I want to convert that and access in my iPhone program. How can i do that? I want to have a desktop software like VLC and input this streaming feed URL and convert to iPhone supported and stream again to iPhone. I tried VLC with H.264 and Mpeg-1 audio, but seems to be it doesn't give the supported format, so as iPhone program doesn't play the video. Could someone please guide me how can i setup a desktop software which can stream iPhone supported file? Thanks in advance.

  • How to manage two video cards on a laptop that runs Ubuntu 10.10?

    I have a laptop with two video cards. One ATI and on integrated Intel. On Windows, I can choose which video card I want to use. For example, I use the Intel card for normal use and for gaming, I switch to my ATI card for better performance, but a shorter battery life. In Ubuntu 10.10, only the Intel driver is installed, the ATI driver for my card doesn't work at all and there's heat coming out of my computer all the time, like when I'm playing video games on Windows. I think both cards are active, but only the Intel one is usefull. How can I solve this by making sure Ubuntu is aware of the two video cards and by disabling my ATI. Or may be I am all wrong about this?

  • ATI video cards - unable to use entire monitor (1080p)

    Hi all, I have a Dell s2409w, 24" 1080p monitor. With nVidia, I would plug-in the monitor and voila, it automatically knew it was 1080p (1920x1080). I have both a Windows laptop and Ubuntu laptop. Neither is capable of using the fullscreen even though the monitor reports the input is 1080p. I am connecting the monitors via HDMI, is there a 'special' setting I am missing to make this work? Otherwise, I like the performance of my ATI video cards, the drivers seem to be stable and reliable. Thanks, Walter
